Lectures on Pilgrim's Progress: Also, a Sketch of the Author's Life and Labors

Rate this book
This book is a collection of 28 lectures given by Rev. James Rodgers as Bible studies for his congregation. Rodgers sought to show that John Bunyan's characters and settings in Pilgrim's Progress were drawn from the Bible, as opposed to popular interpretations and theologies of the time. The author presents a plain Bible exposition on the way from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City. Rodgers' aim was to encourage a more diligent study of the Word of God to aid pilgrims on their life's journey. This book is an excellent resource for individuals and groups, and is a welcome addition to the study of Bunyan's classic.
