I really enjoy Heather Graham’s mix of paranormal woo-woo and romantic suspense. Her Krewe of Hunters series offers murder-mysteries, ghosts and romance. Within the series are mini-series featuring related characters or a setting. This mini-series comprises Fade to Black, Pale as Death, and Echos of Evil. This series features three-brothers who can see the dead including their dead mother.

Brodie McFadden a private investigator is in the Keys for a little R&R after a big case he helped his brothers with. That and he needs to decide whether he wants to accept the FBI’s offer to join the Krewe of Hunters with his brother. A dead body and museum curator Dakota Kody McCoy soon have him investigating a murder-mystery, seeing ghosts and falling in love.

Once again Graham delivered an interesting mystery, and I enjoyed tagging along for the ride. Dakota can also see ghosts. Her ghostly companion proved to be interesting. I liked both Brodie and Dakota. The setting was familiar having lived in Florida and I could just imagine the local musicians playing. A few twists, some ghostly assistance and some fade to black passion kept things interesting.

I giggled when the murder victim appears as a ghost. Shenanigans and interesting pop-ins added humor.

One thing I love about this series is they way Graham mixed local history into her tales. Don’t let the twenty-six books in series scare you off. Each book offers a complete mystery and romance. All have a tie in to the Krewe of Hunters, a special unit of the FBI that deals with unusual cases. All the members can speak with the dead. Most involve human evil and Graham writes a well-written plausible plot. I guessed who the culprit was, but not the reason until it was revealed.

Once again I enjoyed Luke Daniels' narration.  I confess I prefer when he narrates fantasy, but he gives every character a unique voice and his female voices are well done. I felt that Brodie’s voice was too stiff and deep for my liking. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

3 stars.

The last of the McFadden brothers, Brodie, is down in Key West, diving with his ex-Navy boss and contemplating whether to join the Krewe when he discovered a dead body in a sunken ship. After recovering the body, he and the local detective decided to visit a tiki bar for dinner and the singer died right in front of him. There's nothing to tie the two deaths except coincidence and that our heroine, Kody, believes the singer was also murdered.

Brodie is a carbon copy of his two older brothers but it's as if after two books, the author didn't believe she needs to give him his own personality anymore. To me, this is the weakest of the three McFadden books.

As a suspense book, Echoes of Evil is almost perfect. Nothing too creepy, but a solid mystery/murder story with a well crafted plot. There's also a hint of romance - between Brodie and Kody - but it takes second place in relation to the rest of the story.
I was not fully convinced by the paranormal side of the book, though. Without having read any of the previous books in the series, I confess I expected something different and scarier. Instead, I just got living people talking normally to ghosts as if they were still alive, which, in my opinion, didn't add that much to the sore. And one thing bugged me - if a ghost such as Cliff cannot hug his wife because he can't really touch matter, how can he sit on beds and chairs?
I also found the writing to be a bit repetitive in places and, especially in the first part of the book, some passages give you an overload of information - either historical facts, local trivia or just extremely detailed accounts of what the characters are seeing or how their houses are decorated. Towards the end of the story, the plot seems to progress a lot faster, though, and I found it much easier to read.
Still, Echoes of Evil is a great, entertaining read, one that kept me up late into the night to get to the end. If you love a good mystery and don't mind a few drops of supernatural thrown into the mix, you shouldn't miss it.

I have read all the Krewe of Hunters novels but this one was incredibly disappointing. This was more of a story about people and their relationships and less about solving a murder mystery. The Krewe barely enters into this novel AT ALL.

The reader gets nearly all the way to the end of the book before any crime solving is done by the police and PI's.

This was the worst of all the Krewe novels. DO NOT recommend if you are expecting another great Krewe mystery.

Echoes of Evil is book 26 in the Krewe of Hunters by Heather Graham. While on vacation to decide on his new job offer Brodie McFadden chose to help a navy friend diving on a historic shipwreck when he found a crime scene. Brodie McFadden believes that the death of a local musician and the body found on the wreck were related, and he needed help from regional museum director Dakota McCoy to stop her culture festival. Brodie McFadden believed that someone wanted the festival to be a disaster. The readers of Echoes of Evil will continue to follow Dakota and Brodie to discover what happens.

I enjoy reading books in this series, and Echoes of Evil did not disappoint. I had trouble putting this book down from the moment I started to read this book. I love Heather Graham's portrayal of her characters and their interaction with each other. Echoes of Evil is well-written and researched by Heather Graham. I like Heather Graham's description of the settings of Echoes of Evil, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.

The readers of Echoes of Evil will learn about the importance of a cultural festival to preserve communities' history. The readers of Echoes of Evil will understand the role of a marine salvage and rescue company.

I recommend this book.

This book had a few slow spots in it for me. It seemed like some parts of it drug on and on and some parts were so action packed that the reader couldn't put it down. The Krewe of Hunters continues to grow in numbers (no surprise there) and it also starts to get a bit predictable. Not my favorite, but not a terrible read...it just left the reader a bit bored at times.

Brodie and Kody are a rhyming match made in heaven....with angels and ghosts and everything. They have to solve a mystery before one of them winds up the next one to die...

Fun in the sun

Key West is a magical place and a frequent site for this series. Several repeat characters were part of this story and we got the final story of the three brothers. History and ghosts play a role and it is a good blend of history for the country, state and city. There is a bit of social dialogue as well as musical lore. I did figure out the villain fairly early but it did not lessen them enjoyment of going through the case with Brodie, Kody, Liam and the Krewe!

I really liked this book. The author did a great job entwining historical information with a current setting, and I loved the paranormal aspect of it. I will definitely be looking for more of this series!

Recommendation: Yes, pick it up for a mystery involving paranormal elements, historical flair and the romantic side of the plot.

Echoes of Evil is the twenty sixth book in the longest series, Krewe of Hunters, by Heather Graham and published in September of 2018. The primary plot is centered around Brodie McFadden - the third and last of the McFadden brothers, an ex-military turned PI - and Dakota "Kody" McCoy - owner of a museum, Haunts and History Museum, related to history of Key West. The plot is set in Key West, FL, right after the events in Pale as Death.

This book forms the third and final book in the next trilogy by Heather Graham, which she has set around the McFadden Brothers, who are ex-military turned private investigators; first book being Fade to Black; second being Echoes of Evil. In the beginning Heather had plots for each of the Krewe of Hunters as team members were introduced. But from the 9th book onwards, she has made those plots into trilogies within the series, that either revolve around the same set of characters or characters flowing from one book to next in the trilogy with new lead characters added.

Her First trilogy is made of the ninth book The Night is Watching; the tenth book The Night is Alive; the 11th book The Night is Forever. Second trilogy is made of the 12th book The Cursed, 13th book the Hexed and 14th book The Betrayed. Third Trilogy has the 15th book The Silenced, 16th book The Forgotten and the 17th book The Hidden. Fourth Trilogy has three books set on Celtic American Cruise-Line ships - 18th book Haunted Destiny on Destiny, 19th book Deadly Fate on Fate and 20th book Darkest Journey on Journey. Fifth Trilogy was formed of 21st book Dying Breath, 22nd book Dark Rites and 23rd book Wicked Deeds.

Krewe are a secret FBI unit with each member of the unit honing a particular psychic talent of their own, making them the paranormal investigating team. This unit was created to deal with murders having supernatural undertones and paranormal activities. Headed by paranormal investigator Adam Harrison, this elite unit is called on to solve cases linked to historical and paranormal mystery involving legendary crime and serial killings, war events and hauntings. The Krewe are divided into three distinct groups. The first group is led by Jackson Crow, who is also the Assistant Director of the Krewe, and called as the original Krewe of Hunters; the second group is led by Texas Ranger Logan Raintree and called as the Texas Krewe; the third group is Yankee Krewe, based in NYC, overseen by Jackson Crow. A possibility of a fourth group in Miami, FL is touched upon in the 17th book The Hidden.

We have met Brodie McFadden first in Fade to Black and with a sort of secondary prominent role in the sequel Pale as Death. After helping out his brother Bruce McFadden in catching the criminal who was recreating an old unsolved murder, The Black Dahlia, Brodie takes some time-off; mainly to ponder if he wants to follow his brothers to Krewe of Hunters. His vacation takes him to Key West, where on a dive with his Navy SEAL friend, he comes across a recently dead man, inside a very old ship wreck.

And then there is our heroine - Dakota "Kody" McCoy. On the last day of the History, Mystery, Art and Music Fest, that she had co-chaired, at a song performance, her co-singer and friend, drops dead on the stage. And Kpdy strongly believes that he was murdered. Obviously our hero, Brodie, takes it upon himself to ensure that Kody is not in danger, protect her, and at the same time work with the local cops to investigate both deaths.

Heather has some of the main characters working for a place called Sea Life, so similarly named to the Sea Life Center that Lara Mayhew was working at in the 16th book The Forgotten. Although that was located in Miami, FL and deals with dolphins; while this is located in Key West, FL and deals with salvaging shipwrecks. Also being set in FL, we find similar ghost stories and historical references as those that we already read in the book 12th book The Cursed and the 16th book The Forgotten.

Is Kody McCoy related to Jude McCoy whom we had met in 18th book Haunted Destiny, a question as a reader I was hoping Heather would connect it. However, she left it to reader's imagination there.

Brodie and Kody get help from the local police and the Krewe of Hunters - Detective Liam Beckett (whom we had already met in the 12th book The Cursed); Jackson Crow, the Krewe field director and Angela Hawkins, Jackson's wife and a Krewe member; and finally his brothers Bryan and Bruce McFadden, albeit only proxy.

We meet Kelsey Beckett too, Liam's wife and get introduced into their past a little again. We had also met Liam Beckett's brother David Beckett and his wife Katie O'Hara also in the book The Cursed. I had learned then that these characters are part of Bone Island Series, another series by Heather Graham. Now my mind has piqued interest in that series as well after seeing some of those characters in this series. I wonder if Krewe of Hunters characters are seen in that series too.

Kody mentions about a friend that she used to have, who was now married to an FBI agent and moved to Virginia, but who used to run a B&B before getting tangled in a murder that occurred behind her B&B. This is the plot of the 12th book The Cursed, so I was guessing we would perhaps meet with Hannah O'Brien and Dallas Samson - now married together. But we didn’t. So it was just a passing mention then.

Considering this plot is the final book of the trilogy, I expected more characters from the previous two books to flow through. Also since the plot was set in Key West, FL, I had expected atleast some of the past Krewe members or Harrison Investigation members who had their cases in Miami and Key West area to pop up. Instead we have a few characters from several books ago show up, but pretty much Brodie and Kody are left for their own.

Although, Heather Graham again has the list of cast and characters of her plot in the beginning of the book, which has been doing from past few books. The characters are as usual fun and loving even though there is terror on every corner of the page.

I marvel at how Heather brings the history and paranormal elements together with a seamless string that makes it a phenomenal plot. She gives the readers a view into the past through artifacts, tours, researches and just plain history. This time she again take us around she takes the readers around Key West, FL with amazing ghost stories, history and past.

For the first time though, I could not connect any dots till the last scene where Heather reveals it to the readers in her own way. I did see a bit of repeat paraphrasing, but the mystery thoroughly intrigued me.

Readers are provided with pages at the end where it gives reader an opportunity to either join a book club and win books, or buy a book and get a few free. Again there are fewer grammatical or character or location errors in this book. However, a thorough editing is definitely needed.

I see a pattern to Heather Graham's stories in the Harrison Investigations and Krewe of Hunters series, apart from the presence of ghosts and spirits. Usually the stories revolve around historical inferences, somehow connecting the past to the present either by way of characters or incidents and they involve hidden tunnels be it in cemetery or old houses or mortuaries. Always has one new pair of Krewe of Hunters or Harrison Investigations investigators. But could she please have her heroines be more smarter than just running to the bad guys alone, when she has so much of help around from FBI and her friends.

Since Deadly Fate, she has added another element to her plots. Adam Harrison buys an old theater in Alexandria, VA. Slowly he has been adding talented partners of his Krewe of Hunters into that theater work. So far Clara Avery, whom we met in Deadly Fate and fiancée to Thor Erikson, is assigned as the artistic director of that theater. And joining her are Charlene "Charlie" Moreau fiancée to Ethan Delaney, whom we met in Darkest Journey; Alexi Cromwell, whom we met in Haunted Destiny and Jude McCoy's fiancée; Madison Darvil, wife of Sean Cameron, whom we met in The Unholy; and Marnie Davante fiancee to Bryan McFadde is assigned to Children's theater part of this theater, whom we met in Fade to Black.

A very good mingle of murder and mystery; past and present; old wars and new demons; and above all romance and love. Although for most part a successful thriller in the series of books under Krewe of Hunters by Heather Graham that is an easy ready and still enjoyable; I still would have liked more at the end.

Spoiler Alerts:

1. Plot Reveals:
a. In this plot, Heather Graham's heroine Kody McCoy muses that she might be in love with a ghost, particularly the ghost who was residing in her home, that is why she is unable to find a partner who is living. I remember Heather explored a similar situation in the 6th book, The Dead Room, from her Harrison Investigation Series, where her heroine Leslie MacIntyre has erotic dreams about her dead husband, Matt Connolly. I wondered then, and wonder now too, if it was possible to fall in love with a ghost.
b. Colleen Bellamy, Kody's assistant at the museum, is having dreams similar to what other Heather Graham's characters have - ghost dreams and dreams that they live in past or present that aid them in a case - another one of their paranormal ability. Will Colleen become a main character in a future book?
c. At the end of the book Brodie McFadden also decides to join the Krewe of Hunters and convinces Kody McCoy to have two bases, one in Virginia with him and one in Key West, FL to visit as needed and take care of her museum.

2. Sub Plots:
a. In eleventh book, The Night Is Forever, Dustin Blake was part of an FBI team consisting of Grant Shelby, Cindy Greenstreet and Jerry Gunter. I am wondering why Heather Graham had mentioned their complete names as well as a brief intro, albeit as part of the conversation. Will they resurface in future plots is something we have to wait and see.
b. Dustin Blake has a sister Rayna Blake who is a Nashville sensation - a country music singer. I wonder if Heather Graham will use her as a lead character in a future book.
c. Jane Everett and Sloan Trent were part of Team Two: Texas Krewe. But in the 14th book, The Betrayed, Heather mentions that they were going to be permanent members of the Yankee Krewe. Have to read the rest of the books to know if that is where she sends them.
d. In the 16th book The Forgotten, Dr. Phil Kinny seemed have paranormal abilities. Will he be a main character in another book?
e. In the 18th book, Haunted Destiny, Heather Graham introduces us to the large family of Alexi Cromwell, albeit only as a conversation - her parents, a brother who is an artist, a sister Sienna who is a doctor. Curiously enough only Sienna's name is mentioned in the plot and none of the other family members. May be we will see Sienna again, hence her mentioned explicitly.
f. In the 20th book, Darkest Journey, Heather introduced a photographer, Chance Morgan, who could see ghosts as well. A future plot perhaps.
g. McFadden Brothers - Bryan, Bruce and Brodie: All three of them had served in a branch of service: Bryan in the navy, Bruce in the marines and Brodie in the army. They were looking to form an investigation company together, but all three brothers gradually join the Krewe of Hunters.
i. Parents of McFadden brothers - Hamish and Maeve McFadden - are the resident ghosts of the brothers, who had died together while doing a performance. They are close friends to Adam Harrison.
ii. Bryan's story is told on Fade to Black and is now engaged to be married to Marnie Davante, the lead heroine of that plot. Bruce's story is told in Pale as Death.
h. In the 24th book, Fade to Black, we also meet Bridget Davante, Marnie's cousin and a writer for many a hit TV shows, living in one half of the duplex owned by Marnie. Curious if she will have a story of her own.

3. Grammatical / Historical / Location / Character Errors:
a. On Pg. 38, Line 22, Heather mistakenly prints Kody's last name as McFadden instead of McCoy.
b. On Pg. 158, Line 10 from bottom, it should be "…you seen the.."
c. On Pg. 196, Line 8, it should be "Rosy Martin" instead of "Rose Martin" as the author got it printed.
d. On Pg. 210, Line 3, it should be "…looked at Kody and…"

Loved this one, a good mystery with a surprising twist for the ending. Love the setting and the rich historical details of he area she's writing about. I did find a small mistake. I don't know if it was a misprint or what, but she described one of the ghost as having blond hair lick George C. Custer which should have been like George A. Custer.

What I thought was going to start out to be a good book quickly went straight down the hill. Heather Graham’s writing is all over the place, it’s written like a middle schooler, and is difficult to follow because if her poor writing skills. No sooner do you begin the book then everyone in the book starts to see ghosts and the ghosts are talking to the people. It is so far-fetched it’s ridiculous. The book is about a murder in key west. I’ve been to Key West and it’s quite an interesting place she did describe it well but basically the book is a definite do not read or waste your time.

ECHOES OF EVIL is the final story in the McFadden brothers trilogy within the Krewe of Hunters series. While I enjoyed Brodie’s story it didn’t quite match up with the intensity of the first two within the trilogy for me. Perhaps it’s the slower feel of the Keys, or that the villain was more subtle in their evil doing. I don’t know why, but I did feel that this one wasn’t as much of an edge of my seat reading feel while the first two definitely had a deeper nastiness tone to them.

Brodie has helped his brothers on their cases, and while they’re off to begin their FBI training in order to officially join the Krewe of Hunters Brodie is in Key West for some relaxation, a bit of sunken ship diving with a military friend. While he knew he might encounter bones on this shipwreck – he certainly didn’t expect to find a recently dead body within the hull of this old ship.

No sooner than he and the local detective investigating the case enter a bar for dinner and speculating on the case than another death happens, right before their eyes. This time the performer drops dead in the middle of a song – and while it might look like a natural death, his friend Kody does not believe that for a second. And soon neither will Brodie. Two separate deaths somehow connected… but what is the missing link between them.

ECHOES OF EVIL kept me engaged from beginning to end, a few red herrings tossed in, numerous suspects, a few ghosts trying to be helpful (in their own ways) and the love between Kody and Brodie growing stronger each day. This one may not have had the intensity of the earlier stories but it is a page-flipping story that any Mystery, Paranormal, or Romantic Suspense reader will enjoy.

I really enjoyed this trilogy for the most part. It was great to go back to Key West after a long time. I like these stories and the little bits of history that Ms. Graham always imbues in her books. This one had a museum started and ran by Kody, who happens to intrigue Brodie McFadden (brother #3) right away. The one thing that bothered me about book 2 happened again in this one. The heroine has a great life and has no plans on leaving and boom the hero says one sentence and the next thing you know, she is moving where he lives. I just think there should be more discussion between them because it just seems a rushed ending and like the women never have a choice if they want to be with the hero. Starting to really bug me hence minus a star. I have to say at first I thought I was reading a book from a while back that was set in Key West and the heroine or hero had or worked at another museum. I knew I had never read about Brodie before, so I stuck with it and thank goodness Ms. Graham brought up the previous characters and then I knew I wasn't crazy. I love the Captain and if I remember correctly he was in the previous book as well as Kody being a secondary character. I wish the Captain and Key West would get some time in future books! Just a side note about the other museum/book - Robert the Doll has a fair amount of time in the older book with a mention in this book and oddly enough I happened to be finishing Lore season 1 on Amazon Prime and the last episode was about Robert the Doll. Really creepy and mostly unrelated to this book, but more history about a subject of Ms. Graham's books.

This book is the 26th installment of The Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham. This one took me forever to read it seems. Partly because of my reading blocks where I just can't seem to pick up a book. It was also somewhat slow moving. Heather did manage to change the flow somewhat in this novel but overall it was the same idea. man sees ghosts, man meets damsel in distress, man and girl fall in love within' two days, there's some crime/mystery and ghosts mixed in throughout the book. After a while it gets tedious because you already figured out the pattern of the books.

**SPOILERS**

This one was about a McFadden brother named Brodie. He is in Key West on vacation when he accidentally discovers a body strung to a shipwreck. He, with the help of a young woman named Kody McCoy work together to solve the crime with the help of two ghosts. Cliff who was another victim in this story and Captain Hunter who is Kody's residential 'friend'. Naturally there is attraction between Kody and Brodie and within days they hook-up and fall in love. Pretty unrealistic if you ask me. I will admit Heather did get me in the end with an unexpected pair of murderers. I will also admit that towards chapters 14 - the conclusion had me wanting more. it was very intense and mysterious.

Heather Graham is a relatively a good author. I wouldn't say she's as talented as perhaps Stephen King or Anne Rice but she seems to be my author soulmate. I have read eight novels from this series already and mean to continue to catch up on it.

I love the Krewe of Hunters series and have never been disappointed by any of them. This novel opens with Brodie discovering a dead man in an old wreck while diving with a restoration crew. while one might expect to find skeletal remains, this gentleman has obviously been dead for a very short period of time. News of the find spreads to the locals, including Dakota, a local museum owner, who is also tied to the restoration efforts of the shipwreck. While at the local tavern where her late father's best friend is performing, the well loved musician dies of an apparent heart-attack. Dakota "Kody" isn't buying a natural cause and believes it's murder. She voices the same to Brodie who is a private investigator. The two eventually form a partnership to discover the truth.

At first the deaths seem unrelated but it is soon discovered that there is a connection although it doesn't make sense to Kody or Brodie. As the threats increase and more bodies are discovered the clues aren't adding up. As Kody and Brodie both see spirits who have passed on, one would think the answers would be easier to find. the truth is not so easy after all when the one ghost who can manifest doesn't know who killed him.

This story moves at a nice clip with odds and ends thrown in to create some red herrings. Add a little romance and some very dynamic characters and Echoes of Evil will keep your attention right until the end.

Love the gorgeous setting and intriguing history. Mini-mystery.

I’ve read several Krewe of Hunters books, so I was expecting a paranormal murder mystery with personal subplots. I enjoy stories set in Key West, because of its rich history, beautiful coastline, and ghost stories. I’d hoped for more credible haunts, but the author went w a non-threatening (but popular) ghost trope. Other ghost(s) are more inspired, such as local characters, although they’re not scary. As an occasional horror reader, I can say there are no shivers or chills to be had.

Overall, this book reads like women’s fiction, focusing on characters, personal interactions, and how a small community deals with death. Add to that: music, musicians, scuba divers, a historic sunken ship, gorgeous people, and a near-insta-love/sex situation. What holds this book together are the murders—which befuddle the police, involve a visiting PI, and set the locals on edge.

I read Krewe books for the mystery and investigations, so I skimmed most of this book. By the 25% Kindle mark, I settled on a suspicious character, then soon after, chose the killer. I couldn’t decide on accomplice(s), because clues are scant and the red herrings too red.

3 stars for an quick, easy and pleasant read.

Heather Graham does a great job keeping this series fresh and leaving readers eager to read the next book upon finishing one.

Brodie McFadden is on vacation in the Florida keys getting some sun and deciding if he wants to join the Krewe of Hunters. He's diving a historic sunken ship with his Navy friend when he comes across a body that isn't part of the shipwreck. The body is that of a man whose ancestor was on the ship traveling with slaves that he was selling.

Dakota "Kody" McCoy is running her Key West culture festival and has a small history museum, both of which she wants to be successful. When a beloved friend and musician drops dead during a session she doesn't believe it was accidental. Brodie also believes the deaths are connected. He and Kody work together and feel a connection to each other. Kody is surprised when she discovers that Brodie can also see ghosts.

As Brodie's helping Liam with the cases, a third body turns up which seems to be a simple drowning but the guys aren't buying it. The identity of the murderer is a surprise. I definitely recommend this books to fans of Heather Graham and anyone who loves a touch of paranormal in your mysteries.

"famous and amazing " girl meets obvious boy. They both have this super rare and mysterious gift. *along with 75% of the characters, they can see and talk to ghosts. Ok, so what is this book, 24, 25, all I know is that I'm done with them. I'm tired of the authors preaching and making sure we all know how "woke" she is. It's tired. It's also SO completely predictable in the storyline of what chapter each box gets ticked. Literally ALL of these books have been the same. Except sometimes she forgets the secondary characters previous backstory, it all becomes unnecessary. I'm over bringing Jackson into every book at random moments just to tie it all together as a "Krewe" case. The ending, completely made up, no foreshadowing AT ALL, she could have picked any random characters and just decided they were the 2 killers, wait she did. Oh and then girl GIVES UP everything she's worked for to move with some guy SHE JUST MET. I had it in my mind that I would read all of the series, but I can no longer subject myself to them. I honestly can't decide if they've gotten worse or if they've been bad the whole time.

It started a bit slow for me. Setting up a museum, running a festival in the keys. Plus an old slave ship had been found in the deep water , but closer inspection it was a modern day murder stuffed in the ship. It is good that the men diving can see ghosts, and leads them to the body . On top of all that musicians are dying, and everyone wants answers. Key west is a party town, and musicians just can’t turn up dead. Is the linked in some way. Plus kody had been the daughter of a big rock star, and had played many times in the keys in concert. He had died ten yrs Go , but she loved all that , and been young while they wrote and performed. His band mates had been there for her mom and her. Key west was her home, born in raised. Now she needed answers about the future., and if Brodie , the PI helping the police is part of the future once’s the murders are solved. It was a good read. Has some steam in it. I enjoyed 4 stars several ghosts, and a surprise ending, both in the killer, and the couples future.

Echoes of Evil by Heather Graham is phenomenal. Heather Graham is the queen of suspense, danger, and humor. I love her characters. In her novel, there are both humans and ghosts. The ghosts of some murdered victims stay behind to watch over their loved ones and help the Krewe of Hunters with their FBI investigation into the mysterious deaths. I am thoroughly entertained from the beginning to the ending. The ghosts create a sense of humor even when the danger explodes. Every page is full of risks, intrigue, and suspense of what will come next. The Krewe of Hunters are well skilled at solving murders. Using their special skills such as communicating and seeing the dead, they are successful. From the director to the civilians involved, this cast of characters are memorable. Fun, exciting, and well-written, Echoes of Evil is a must read! Heather Graham is the best story teller. I highly recommend this book, as well as the others in this series!

I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

Another in the Krewe of Hunters series, in which Kody McCoy runs a museum in Key West. She is a "seer" and enjoys conversations with the resident ghost who inhabits her house. When Brodie McFadden, not yet a member of the Krewe, but being prepared by his brothers to become one, discovers a body 100 ft down during a dive with a friend, he becomes involved in trying to find out who killed the man and why. In doing so, two other murders occur. He is convinced they are connected in some way, but how?

When Kody is threatened, it's clear that people have been missing a variety of clues that were right in front of them: call it misplaced friendship, but it was truly creepy! At least Brodie has decided that he's not going to let Kody get away, even if they don't live in the same city all the time. How they're going to pull that off remains a mystery. Will be it solved in another Krewe of Hunters tale?

Number three in the latest trilogy of the McFadden brothers takes us back to Key West and detective Liam, whom we met before. No worries, if you have not read the previous adventures, there is enough detail in this book not to get confused and not too much for those who have, just little reminders, really.
Once again, the mystery as to who is the perpetrator lasts from beginning to end, with plenty of possibles being investigated in between. The criminal and the reasoning makes perfect sense once revealed, and had I not 'peaked' ahead, I don't think I would have guessed.
Heather Graham really knows what she's doing writing suspense, and the history to be discovered is researched in detail and an eye-opener in its own right. The perfect whodunnit with a history lesson or two thrown in for good measure. I love to read Krewe of Hunters stories. They are not only entertaining and intriguing, but you always learn something interesting along the way.

First, I want to thank Heather Graham for giving us a Cast of Characters in the front of the book! This really helps me, the reader, keep who's who straight.

The Krewe of Hunters is my favorite series. The Krewe is a special, paranormal investigation unit of the FBI. Each member of the unit has one, or more, special "gifts". Many of the members can see and talk to ghosts. I love the paranormal aspect of the stories.

Several books in the series, have the McFadden brothers, who I really like. Their parents, who just happen to be deceased, are still "hanging around" to give parental guidance when needed (or NOT needed). In this story we have Brodie McFadden who meets Dakota "Kody" McCoy and a passionate relationship develops.

There is mystery, suspicions, love, historical information and surprises throughout the book. It kept my interest through the whole book and I liked it very much.

This can be read as a stand-alone book.

TWIST ENDING! I never saw this ending coming! I enjoyed reading about Key West again, as I have each time I have read a Krewe of Hunters set there. Kody McCoy has just opened her museum about Key West haunts and history, while at the same time P.I. Brodie McFadden is diving inside a recently found sunken ship that was once a slave transportation ship. While Brodie is diving through one of the levels he sees a dark shadow that leads him to a body inside a room. There are two problems, one is that this body is not from the 18th Century and the second is that the man had been murdered. This leads Brodie into a murder investigation with his friend Liam Brick. Kody and Brodie become involved together trying to solve who killed the man in the ship, and to find out why a man she thought of like a father died on stage while singing.
