Our Daily Bread

Rate this book
Those who know and love the writings of Dr. M. R. DeHaan recognize the prominence of the truly devotional emphasis in all his writings. This, however, is Dr. DeHaan's first completely devotional book. Fittingly enough, Mr. Henry Bosch, his long-time associate at the Radio Bible Class, is editor and compiler of this collection of daily meditations with their warm-hearted spirit of true devotion to God. Indeed, Mr. Bosch is himself the author of many of these devotional gems. Here is spiritual sustenance for each day of the year, each meditation thoroughly grounded in the Scriptures with a suggested Scripture portion to be read in conjunction with the meditation. A closing 'Thought for the day' summarized the meditation in pithy, pungent style to make an indelible impression upon the mind of the reader. These meditations have been selected from monthly pamphlets that the Radio Bible Class has sent out over several years. Helpful indexes make this book even more invaluable.

It took awhile but I finally finished this devotional book. M. R. DeHaan and Henry G. Bosch were the two main writers in this yearly devotional book. I remember the Daily Bread and used to follow the devotionals for many years. DeHaan and Bosch were two of the original writers of these devotions. Both are now deceased. There is a lot of wealth and wisdom in this book, and it used the KJV as the main Bible translation. Every day was a different topic drawn from the Bible and it presented doctrine, history, and illustrations from daily life to bring the Word of God to the present day life. This is one of the greatest devotional books I believe ever written.
