Attractive, spunky Gillian inherits an old boat from her uncle, as well as the attentions of two groups unscrupulously in search of mysterious contraband
My dad passed this book along to me and it was a fairly enjoyable read. The boat-related passages are written cleanly and competently; there's no question the author knows the territory and he effectively draws you in. His technical references, one of my usual peeves, are flawless. My disappointment was the protagonist: she was strong and capable, but there seemed a good deal of uncharacteristic and unnecessary behavior I felt took away from the flow of the story.
