Judith McNaught is my absolute favorite author. I have read her books many times over the years. This book I probably read twice a year. It is a fabulous story. I have never sold or traded any of her books, they stay on the shelves. Enjoy.
Judith McNaught is my favourite writer and I’ve read almost all her novels ,and I’ve liked her characters who I feel as if they are real people that I know and admire .However ,Tender Triumph is the least I like coz it didn’t catch me or made me eager to reread as I did with the rest of her novels.I’ve read Double Standard 4 times ,something wonderful 3 times, Kingdom of dreams 3 times ,but I won’t read this novel ever. Because of this I just give it 3 stars
A+rating. Paradise has been a favorite for decades, but it’s been a while since I did a reread so I wasn’t sure it would stand the test of time. It did. It’s still such a good book. I loved immersing myself in this reread. I love this book!!
Paradise is really good, I feel most of the ratings for this combo would be for Paradise as it is one gem of book. tender triump is okay but not the best of Judith Mcnaught
This came in at #13. This is a compelling, if long (709 pages), reunion story written in the glitz style of the 80s. If written today, it would have started when they meet again 11 years after they first fell into bed together, instead of spending a good chunk of the book on Meredith as a child and then their first relationship. I liked the characters and probably would've devoured the book if I'd read it back in 1991 when that was the way many romances were written.
I think I related to the main character the most of all the romance novels I've read thus far. And she fell in love with a Latin lover! (Who she believes drives a produce truck.) And then after two weeks she moves to Puerto Rico and marries him. So if I come up missing in two weeks, try looking for me in Puerto Rico.
4 for Paradise, which I enjoyed immensely (see individual book for review),
and 1 for tender triumph, which was so bad I couldn't manage to finish it. Ugh. How some person decided to put these 2 books together I cannot imagine. Tender triumph is horrible drivel and a pathetic main character who apparently loves to be abused, lied to, and dominated. Whee.
Tender Triumph was an interesting love affair between two strong willed persons, though one had become stubborn through pain and fear. As usual, love triumphs in the end and the plot gets quite sluggish before it does. The characters are well developed and believable and there is not a lot of torrid love making.
The first book, Paradise was top notch, and as the first book I have read by this author, it makes me want to read more. The second book on the other hand...was absolutely awful and I could not finish it. Horrible. I hope all of her books are not that bad. Ick, ick, and ick.
i like this bookk.........the best.......got all the ingredients for a romantic love story......hmmm..,. im a great fan of meredith and Matt Farrell...
