The Hollydale Omegas #4

Champagne Spiced Omega

Rate this book
"I promise, I'm not going anywhere. I found everything that I never thought I wanted right here with you."

Cecil is an unconventional omega. Owner of Second Chances, Hollydale’s Thrift Store and Consignment Shop, the closest he wants to get to an alpha is when he picks one up for a few hours of fun on a Saturday night. And even then, they’d better be polite enough to disappear before he wakes up. Yet for some reason, after picking up Hollydale’s most elusive playboy bachelor for a spot of fun after Tom’s wedding, Cecil is almost relieved to find Ian still there the following morning when he gets the call from a social worker that he’s been named the guardian of an orphaned two day old infant.

Ian’s entire adult life has been spent climbing the ladder to partnership at his law firm, and squeezing in a little fun with omegas in his spare time. Settling down with one and starting a family is so far from his thoughts it’s laughable. So why does he find himself sticking around to help the adorably awkward omega as he struggles to keep a tiny human alive?

Return to Hollydale for a little post-holiday fun while Ian and Cecil figure out that, sometimes, sticking around is more fun than a one night stand.

This is the fourth book of The Hollydale Omegas series. This book is about 30k and most likely contains an HEA. 18+ readers only please! And yes, this book contains M/PREG, adults adulting in sexy grown-up ways, and way more than an occasional use of potty mouth language.

I'm a total fan of M/PREG Paranormal Romances, first and foremost as a reader. I'm excited to share my own omegaverse(s) with you. What's not to love about adorable Omegas and the Alpha men who love them? If I'm not writing about men sporting baby bumps, I'm definitely reading about them!

I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV, so I'm pre-wired to love everything weird ~ although I don't find any kind of love to be weird. I'm a cis woman who's been happily married to the same lovable lug for 18 years. We have a 16yr old son, well, at least I think we do? Either that, or we have a ghost that eats all our food and uses up all wifi playing xbox while screaming into a headset.

As a new author, it's been amazing to find the amount of support that I've been given from readers and my fellow authors. Feel free to message me, I love to chat with fellow readers. Am I a reader? Heck yeah! In fact, I'm never certain that I can completely trust an author who isn't a fellow bibliophile.

I will try to update here when I'm doing promotional parties & chats. I usually do those on Facebook. If you haven't already signed up for my newsletter, you should totally do it! I only send out NL's to announce new releases or important announcements. I also like to note in my NL what I'm currently reading along with a cover shot and the link for anyone who is interested.

I look forward to interacting with everyone here!

Champagne Spiced Omega is book four in The Hollydale Omegas series by Susi Hawke. These little novellas just get better and better. Or maybe it’s that I’m more and more in love with these characters, this group of a found family. This is Ian and Cecil’s book and it was just wonderful. Sidenote: These are make believe, alpha/omega stories that include mpreg. But this book still deals with the real issues, all off page but still real none the less.

We have met Cecil in the previous books as the owner of Second Chances, Hollydale’s Thrift Store and Consignment Shop. Cecil is an omega and is unconventional in that he has no interest in alphas other than a few hours of fun between the sheets. Then they will hopefully be gone when he wakes up the next morning.

We also met Ian Montgomery previously as the alpha who is married to his job as a lawyer. He had a long on and off relationship with Tom previously but it ended because he had no time for anything but work. Now Tom and Colin are in love and getting married on Christmas day. It’s their wedding when Cecil and Ian meet and hit it off. What better way to have some fun of their own but to leave together to spend some fun time at Cecil’s house. But early the next morning, Ian is still there for some reason when Cecil receives a phone call he never in a million years would have expected. An old friend of his has passed away and named Cecil as the legal guardian of his two day old son!

To say Cecil had no idea what to do with a newborn baby is an understatement. Ian stayed to help him through whatever was to come and being a lawyer in family court was a definite advantage. This is where it came in handy to have plenty of good friends who have children. They rallied around him to teach him what to do.

This is the story of two men who never wanted to fall in love, never wanted children, finding themselves taking care of an infant and falling in love with not only the baby but finding their own missing puzzle piece in each other. But there is a lot more to this story that I want you to discover on your own. At this point, I would say that it is better to read these in order since the characters are all present in each other’s books. But they are also becoming tied together in other ways too. Every one of these books has made my heart so happy. Now I can’t wait to start the fifth book in the series, Chocolate Spiced Omega, where Kent will finally get his own story along with a new character, Pierre. I can’t wait.

This was book 4 in "The Hollydale Omegas" series. We first met Ian Montgomery in book one he is Tom's ex and Rafe's bestfriend he is also the most eligible alpha in Hollydale. Cecil Townsend is the owner of Second Chances Thrift Store and Consignment Shop he is not looking for an alpha for more than a night and he definitely not looking forward to having babies. These two meet at Tom and Colin's wedding after a night of hot sweaty sex Cecil is happy when he wakes up and Ian is still their until he gets a call from a social worker telling him have he was made guardian of his college roommates baby. This was a funny book that I liked a lot Cecil didn't know the first thing about a baby and Liam had to help him and Ian who hasn't left his side. Cecil former roommate was beaten by his baby's father and died a few days after having baby Joshua. Ian started realizing that it's time for him to settle down as the two get close and after hiring a manny Luke they settle into their relationship when they find out that Cecil is pregnant. When Joshua's alpha father decides to file for custody they find out why and what type of person he is and they are find pictures of the omegas that he has abusive including one of Tom. This was a good read that I wished was longer this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This book packed way more punch than I had been expecting based on the first 60% or so. The first part on this book was totally focused on Ian who we had met in book 3 as well as Cecil and the baby he becomes guardian to very early on. Based on some of what we had learned about Ian in the last book and his feelings about Tom being the one that got away, he clearly was more open once he met Cecil to the idea of something more than a one-night stand. I would have been thrilled with this book if all it was about was the two of them falling and getting their HEA. However, Ms. Hawke took it way beyond just that and the last 40% or so was way intense in a very good way. I loved this book it was just as good as the previous and in its own unique way. Loved seeing so many friends from book 3 and can't wait to read thie rest of this series.

Kinda meh about this one after reading Tom's story. I liked the characters since we have known them since the start of the series or just about, but there was something missing in this story for me.

Maybe it was the time jumps, maybe I just wasn't in the right mood for something as fluffy and sugary as this? Maybe it was just things moving a bit too quickly for me - all of it, from Ian just never leaving Cecil once they spend their first night together, to the baby...and no real backstory for Cecil either.

Anyway, this is a sweet series and I absolutely loved Tom's story, will probably be moving on to the next one.

These books are just the right books to read if you are going through a tough time and just need to get lost in something cute and cuddly and just a little bit dirty.

I am glad that i stumbled into this series.

Susi Hawke's omegaverse stories are like a little taste of candy, super easy to take and very sweet. They're all the same, but every so often I just need to listen to one.

The audio version of Champagne Spiced Omega is nicely performed by Drew Bacca.

Ian never wanted to settle down, he lived for his job as a lawyer. Cecil also doesn't want any commitments, he doesn't even want kids.
When a baby is thrust upon Cecil, he doesn't know what to do (It's kind of funny how little he knows about babies). Thankfully, Ian is there to support him and they both can't seem to get enough of each other.

Having been referred to as "weird" for my whole life, especially by those who love me... I can relate to Cecil for not being your average "baby craving" omega! I think we all have our reasons for the way we feel and the take that we have on life... so, why can't Ian be the "baby" person in the relationship? I mean, they both kinda figured it out as they went along just like any first-time parents... so, yeah... being "weird" works for me! *grin*

I am almost afraid to continue to the next book in the series... I am thinking seriously about starting a spreadsheet to keep the "daddy's" and "babies" straight in my head... the list just keeps growing and my brain isn't getting any younger! *snort* LOL!!!

BTW: I am sorry, I just can't be too critical of a story that is this entertaining... BUT... I feel like I have to at least mention that the proofreading was really bad on this one! Missing words was a huge issue... hoping this is a one-time thing!

Yes, these are very much fluff. But they're well-written fluff with hot sex and good friendships. I had no idea when I started reading them that I would become this happy with them...the next one is going onto my TBR now.

I love stories where the confirmed bachelor finds his one and only. In this story you have this doubled as neither main character express any interest in finding their soul mate. Even before the life changing phone call they were already acting in different ways than their norm. The fact that Ian steps in without reservation really makes this story feel so good.

The One That Might've Gotten Away

Seeing all the happy couples with their babies at a Christmastime wedding makes attorney Ian feel very lonely. As he watched Tom and Colin tie the knot in a very romantic manner he began feeling nostalgic about the one who got away. He was surprised to find himself attracted to Cecil, a nerdy curly-headed Omega Consignment shop owner, who also wore glasses. Separately they knew the main wedding guests from other dealings with them.

They commiserate over the gratitude for not being surrounded by the babies and kids like all their friends. Cecil as an Omega felt guilty, but not unhappy by his very unOmegalike faults/feelings of not wanting kids. Ian and Cecil talked about how much each of them enjoyed their respective careers. How not being tied down by a family & relationship made it possible for them to have such great success with their businesses. They shocked each other because their One Night Stand felt different right from the beginning. There were expectations of Hit It & Quit It, but that didn't happen and neither of them were sorry!

Good thing, because a Christmas Miracle? occurred. They awoke to Cecil being given guardianship of a day old baby boy. Beyond being shocked and grief stricken by the loss of his best friend, Cecil luckily had Ian who'd at least had some experience with babies - he didn't go run screaming for which Cecil was extremely grateful. Ian knew for the child's safety he could not leave the baby boy alone with Cecil in good consciousness. The author was very good at writing witty dialogue between Ian & Cecil and describing in a humorous manner how Cecil interacted with the baby. Ian thought of calling the very baby experienced Liam, who arrived like a storm trooper with much needed supplies and wisdom.

Joshua Andrew showed that baby boys weren't all sweetness & light, but more stinky rats, snails, and puppy dog tails. But he did manage to do something incredible, he brought together two men not the least interested in being in a relationship or raising children together.

This book went from humorous, to a serious shocking set of revelations that tied together different storylines from between the other series books. I never saw it coming. But it made me very happy that I read this book and the other three. I hope Susi Hawke tells Kent's story, but she's bought me so much entertainment with the books so far I really can't ask for more. I will definitely be reading her other series. I highly recommend this Hollydale series to lovers of Mpreg books. With its strong, funny, and sweet Omegas & the Magic of Guardian Angels. And yes Cecil also had his own caterpillared eyebrow old grumpy Lookout.

Please treat yourself and read this series. You won't be disappointed. It'll leave you wanting more!

The Cover: I don't comment too much on Book Covers cause I mean there is really no need unless the really stick out for a specific reason. Well this one really stuck out to me.. And now I can't help but laugh when I look at it. At first glance my thoughts were Harry Potter and The dude from Beverly Hills 90210, ya know... Ian Ziering.. So when I actually started listening it was hilarious, and apparent that it was totally on purpose.. The main characters name is Ian, and his counterpart MC calls him jokingly 90210. Well Played Susi, well played..

The Book: This book was the perfect amount of sweet and snark which all the books in this series seem to have a great balance of so far. The characters were super likeable for the most part, except for the horrible Alpha which you will learn all about in this book, but he totally gets what he deserves. We get to re-connect with some past characters, sadly Tom plays a very small part. But Ian and Cecil were the perfect opposites for each other. I loved that Cecil as an omega was totally adverse to kids and had zero common sense or clue what to do with them when they were thrust upon him. I think that was a great part of his character traits to shine through and see. Not every Omega should initially like or want kids. Not everyone has that nurturing side naturally come to them and I appreciated seeing that it did not come naturally to Cecil. Ian seriously stepped up in this book. From seeing him previously when we met Tom, to this book he really did a 180 turn in his actions and way of thinking and I loved seeing him settle down and he picked the perfect omega to settle down with.

The Audio: Drew Bacca is a pretty great storyteller when it comes to narrating. He is for sure a voice actor and he does such a good job at delivering a story to us with the right amount of enthusiasm and emotion in his voice in exactly the spots that are needed and called upon for emotions at the forefront.. Its always fun listening to Drews audiobooks, I haven't heard one I didn't like yet.

Another winner in the series! I had wondered how the author was going to turn commitment-phobe Ian into a husband and instant father, and I really like the way that she did it. The setup for baby Joshua coming into Cecil and Ian's life was interesting. I had never really considered the way that someone who had no baby setup/products and zero info on childcare would handle suddenly inheriting a baby. Thank goodness for the ever-expanding group of friends that the two dads were lucky enough to be a part of! I realized right away that one thing we hadn't been getting much of in the series were the new baby details--burping, surprise boy-peeing, their little razor-sharp nails, etc. It was so cute getting to see that with baby Joshua. There's a huge amount of drama toward the middle and end of the book involving custody of Joshua. The story throws twist after twist at us up until the very end of the story. I really liked both MC's and enjoyed their relationship, their dynamic, a lot too. As usual there is plenty of hot bedroom action. It was fun to see the usual ghostly character in the story too. The couples from the earlier stories were there but mainly as cameos with no updates, since the story begins literally at Tom and Colin's wedding. I'm interested to see who the next couple will be. This was one of those stories that I read on KU but had to go back immediately to buy. I really enjoy this series better than any of the author's other series to date and hope it continues for a long time!

Champagne Spiced Omega is book 4 in the Hollydale Omegas series by Susi Hawke and while it could technically be read/listened to as standalone, all the books feature the previous couples, so I suggest reading them in order. Plus, really, you'll be missing out on great books otherwise.

We met Ian in the previous book as Tom's workaholic ex and while he definitely wasn't Tom's match, he was a fairly likable guy. It was nice to see that with the right man, he was willing to go above and beyond what was expected from a hook-up when Cecil needed his help. I just loved him and Cecil together. They made a great team and were really hot together.

This book was so much fun to listen to with all the guys had to endure to learn how to take care of baby Josh and kind of reminded me of being a new mom of twin girls. Oh, the memories! LOL

And of course, it's always great catching up with the rest of the gang, which has grown exponentially with all the babies. I don't know how Susi Hawke does it, but every new book in the series is better than the previous.

Drew Bacca keeps surprising me with the wide range of voices he can provide. His narration is just about perfect, giving the book the necessary emotion in all the scenes. You can't go wrong with either the book or the audiobook, but if possible, I suggest getting the audiobook, you won't regret it.

An Alpha & a baby pop into your life. What's a reluctant omega to do?

Welcome back to Hollydale. All our old friends welcomed me, pulling me back into their lives. I eagerly awaited this chapter in the saga. I was not disappointed. And yes, there are ghosts helping out; this is Hollydale after all. Good friends, lots of babies, unexpected romance, closure, and HEA. What's not to love!
Cecil has no omegas skills. When a cruel twist of fate leaves him as guardian to a days old baby boy, he is lost. Ian just wanted a hookup with the nerdy, awkward Cecil. But Cecil's plight calls to his alpha, and he stays. You will laugh as these two fall in love while learning how to care for a baby. Thank goodness for friends with children! Ooh, and a manny from heaven. An unexpected pregnancy only serves to bring Cecil & Ian closer together. An old enemy shows up and threatens their family. But love & advice from a caring if grouchy ghost assure that our men will triumph. You will love this book!
Triggers: there is past physical abuse, and evidence of rapes. It involves one of our friends. It is written with respect. But be aware.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

Lawyer Finally Settles Down

Cecil and Ian meet at a wedding of Ian's ex who's getting married. Cecil and him hook up and morning after things change. Cecil gets call his former roommate who's like a brother to him has past and he's become his son's guardian. I thought it was funny because neither Cecil or Ian wanted to have kids when book started, but over night they both have one with Joshua because Ian doesn't leave Cecil who's got no idea what he's doing.

There is then the drama with his friend's murder and getting the killer which I always love that being only a small part if these books. The main focus being the romance and children. Was happy that they also have another child by the end. Started on Christmas day and ended one year later on New Years day becoming a family.

There is also resolve on who attacked Tom as a teen and got him pregnant. Justice finally served like needed to be.

Being in those tissues cause you'll cry from laughter and sadness!

Wow! This book was awesome, I enjoyed every little bit from beginning to end!

Character breakdown;

Cecil: he was not what I was expecting at all but it wasn't a bad thing. I had way too much fun watching him try and care for baby Joshua. It was just so hilarious, I also loved how he so easily saw that maybe he did want a family and an alpha.

Ian: I didn't think his other half would be one who also didn't want a family and preferred to just be single. But watching him with Cecil was so darn cute! Lol Ian definitely surprised me too.

The one thing I didn't see coming was how this book would tie to Tom's life. The horrible irony that came with these revelations. Holy crap! This book was worth it!

Oh lord these two had me laughing out loud as they tried to navigate parenting a newborn. Cecil and Ian quickly take on the roles of parents and I liked that they never tried to step away from it. Ian especially impressed me with his about-face on relationships, kids, etc. Poor Cecil had started to really figure it all out and despaired that they had just been allowed to parent Joshua "without supervision" from their friends when it was threatened. Ian is his rock in all of the turmoil that ensues. I loved the appearance of all their made family offering them love and support. Tom has a standing ovation from me for how he dealt with his attacker. Getting Grandpa Harold and Brue's stamp of approval at the end of the book was the cherry on top.

This was a cute mpreg story, very much a whirlwind romance with an instant family thrown in for good measure.
I do think everything happened really fast, and the change from confirmed bachelors to coupledom felt a bit rushed. I’d have preferred it if there had been a little more introspection, maybe a tiny bit of angst or a talk about their feelings. Not to say that I didn’t like the way they fell into being a family so naturally as they did. That was actually quite sweet.
I liked the camaraderie and the banter between the couple and their mutual friends. The mystery neighbor was also a nice touch, though more could have been made of him and the eventual explanation of the mystery surrounding him.
This book is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone.

Loved it!

This was the best one yet. FINALLY, Ian was pinned down, I didnt think it would ever happen. Ane Cecil is freaking awesome. I loved that he wasnt a conventional omega, his absolute cluelessness when it came to babies had me laughing so hard. I adored seeing Ian's softener side and the way he stepped up without thought. The bad guy got his and yep I shed a few tears with this one. Cecil and Ian are tied for my favorite couple with Tom and Colin. I loved that the whole gang came together for this one. Honestly, this book is my favorite in the series. So worth the read. The whole series is worth it.

This book is 4.5 stars. I loved the characters of Ian and Cecil. They are adorable. I loved that Cecil was not a typical Omega and he had to learn how to care for children. Ian is a cutie. The supernatural element made me tear up a bit, especially at the end of the book. We also get some past plot points from the previous book answered in this book, which I really liked. There is talk a past domestic abuse and past sexual assault, so beware of those triggers. They are talked about in greater detail than in past books this author has written, not horribly in depth, but a significant amount for the length of book. Still a great read and gives you the feels.

This is a really cute and sweet story of an alpha and an omega who neither one was looking for a long term relationship. Ian and Cecil thought they would have a one-night stand but when Cecil is named guardian of a child, Ian sticks around to help him. The more time they spend together the less they want to be apart. It was great watching them grow closer as the story progressed. The narrator did a really good job with the story and with all of the characters. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a wonderful story, the fourth book in this series. Cecil does a one night hookup with Ian, Tom's ex-boyfriend . The meet at Tom's wedding and a one night turns into many as Cecil is surprised with a newborn that morning. His best friend had been killed and left his son Joshua as his ward. Murder, date drugging, rape is all a part of this story with a surprising end and a great HEA. Oh, and don't worry about the ghosts. They're friendly.

Sweet!!

Cecil is a sassy omega who has no interest in marriage or babies. Ian is a one night kind of guy. When the two get together they can’t deny their attraction. When Cecil is unexpectedly named as ward to his friends baby, Ian is there to help him through it.

It was great having the characters from the previous books in this book. Cecil and Ian are super sweet. Just enough angst to keep it interesting. Wonderful series with a touch of the paranormal!

People who actively don't want children should not have children. That said, I guess this was supposed to be a story of you don't know you want something until you have it. Ian and Cecil struck me as the two worst people to have a child and I really was starting to hate them in the first part of the book. I'm glad it all worked out in the end, but I'm still uneasy about the kind of parents they will be. I fear for the children in the long run.

Another good one

I loved buttoned up Cecil and I'm so glad that Ian finally found his one and only. I thought it was sweet that he helped Cecil with Bruce's baby. I'm glad that they figured out who was behind Bruce's injuries and I hated that he was such a lowlife. Made my heart hurt for those beautiful boys. I really love that everyone pulls together like one big happy family in these books. I love them all so much.
