The first five stories of the highly praised collection, "A Month of Bedtime Stories". Children will love being the main character and hearing about the adventures they had earlier in the day. ("You don't remember? It must have been that bonk on the head that made you forget!") Parents too will enjoy the humor and imagination of this book of immersive, read-aloud bedtime tales.
This is book one in the series. It contains five short stories of ten pages or less.
They are written in second person. A parent is reading to the child who is a character in the story. Book One contains stories about aliens, bees, rabbits, pirates, and toothpaste. They are zany and fast-moving.
I believe the ideal audience is five through eight or nine. The vocabulary is a bit difficult for a younger child. This book might also be appropriate as a beginning chapter book or a good choice for a reluctant reader.
This has 5 bedtime stories that are rather silly, but probably the kind of silly that my g'little would find funny. Interestingly, every story has ridiculous adventures that the main character "magically" forgets because of some amnesia-producing element in each story. Kids usually find this silliness fun. One thing I didn't like was that each story seemed to tell some character that they were "annoying." I found that annoying!
So fun! This stories were so cute and fun. I read them to my daughter at bedtime and we always smiled at the end. We really enjoyed this book together and will definitely read them again
