Emerson Clarke: Sarcastic. Independent. Possibly losing her mind.
Because that’s the only explanation for why she occasionally sees things that aren’t there, right? But one night, an impossible power erupts from her, and Em realizes the truth is crazier than she ever thought: she isn’t losing her mind; she’s magical.
Thrown into an entirely new world of faeries, enchantments—and the annoying guy from down the road who, it turns out, isn’t human either—Em barely has time to learn even the most basic of magic before another startling truth reveals itself: she has a Griffin Ability. A special kind of magic feared by most fae. Now she’s at the top of everyone’s most-wanted list—including the mysterious glass faerie carrying out random attacks on fae.

December 2016: OMG OMG OMG WE HAVE A TIME THING WHEN IT MIGHT BE RELEASED! April. That's like 4 months away whaaaat omg I'm so excited!!*-*
---------
After just realizing I have never actually posted my review (shame on me), here we go:
Glass Faerie is the seventh book in the Creepy Hollow series and follows the story of our new main character Emerson Clarke.
What I liked right from the beginning of the book was the fact that this one starts off differently than the previous books. Before we've had Violet and then Calla as main characters who both grew up in the Creepy Hollow world and know of the existence of magic and Faeries because well, they both are one. So it was refreshing to see the take on a main character who actually doesn't know all this but only discovers this magical world throughout the book.
This also shows that Rachel is capable of writing different kinds of characters which don't seem all the same in terms of character traits and the choices they do.
Speaking of characters: I think Em went through a great character development throughout Glass Faerie. Not only because she discovers she has magical abilities but she also seems stronger and a bit wiser to me towards the end of the book.
Furthermore, I really enjoyed the mix of old & new characters in this book. It felt like coming home when we met the old crew again *-*.
The plot was always interesting and gripping in my opinion! One thing I liked was the fact that the focus was on Emerson's struggle with her new life rather than on a potentional love relationship between her and another character of which there were just hints.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book and it met my expectations. Again 5 stars!

I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really fun addition to the Creepy Hollow world. We follow Emerson as she discovers this new fantastical world, and we see some old friends along the way. This was such a quick read I finished it in a few hours. It was the perfect way to pass time.

Things I liked :
-Emerson. Emerson was completely relatable as a character. She was introduced into this world where she had no idea what was going on or who to trust. She has a bit of a Cinderella situation going on at the beginning of the story that helped the story feel familiar, beyond the shared world setting of the previous books. Emerson’s goal is to help her mom get better and she deep love and care for her mom was endearing and helped you care for her. Even if it did make Em made questionable and hasty choices, you understand her motivations.
-Emerson & Dash. I really liked Em & Dash’s dynamic. We get a enemies to friends progression which is always nice. Their relationship reminded me of Violet & Rhy’s relationship, so I can’t wait to see where it progresses.
-Callbacks & Cameos. I loved getting to see ALL of the previous characters - and getting to spend a lot of time with them too. They didn’t overshadow Emerson’s story, but helped her grow and come to understand this new world and herself. I liked how the Griffin powers and the Griffin rebels were included, relating to the previous series as well. We get so many references and cameos that help the world feel full and established, but the story really stands on it’s own as well. You can enjoy this book without having read the previous ones and you won’t feel lost or confused; they just create a broader picture.
-Setup. This book perfectly set up this new trilogy. We have unanswered questions and antagonists that will drive the story like, what’s up with the Unseelie court, who is the Glass Faeries, who is Emerson’s dad, what’s the significance of her birthmark, what’s going on at the tear in the shield over Velazar island? So many question and the promise of a compelling story!

Things I Didn’t Like :
-Jewel. Jewel was too one-dimensional for me. She came across as the catty mean girl threatened by the new girl. She wasn’t in the story much, but she just really fell flat and didn’t add anything to the story other than a cliche.
-Guild. The Guild has become a tyrannical mess. They want to monitor all people with Griffin abilities and readily limit their freedoms in the name of speculation. I understand it was likely meant as a political symbol, but it was hard to root for the “good guys” when they are so oppressive and warped from their intended goals.
-Lack of Communication. There was really only one communication issue for me, and it’s sole purpose was to set up the conflict for the next book. I’m torn about it, because I like the dilemma it created, but it felt a little lazy. .

Overall a great addition to a fun series. I loved being back in this world and seeing some old faces. The story had action and was fast paced, but never felt rushed. I liked Emerson and think she’ll be a great protagonist for this next trilogy. I’ll definitely continue with the series.

Full Review:
*I received an ecopy of this book from the author. This has not influenced my review.*

First we had Violet’s story (Books 1-3), then we had Calla’s (Books 4-6), and this time we’re getting Emerson’s. She’s not related to the others in any way, but their lives intertwine when Emerson discovers, at the age of 17, that she’s a faerie, and one with a powerful Griffin Ability.

I actually found Emerson a little difficult to like because of her stubbornness and the way she was rude to Dash for most of the book when he was being nice and trying to help (she was grateful eventually, at least), but I’m not worried because, for some reason, the first book for each character in this series has never been my favorite, and I didn’t like Calla in her first book either, but then I ended up liking the books and the characters more as the stories went on. (Except for Ryn because I loved him from the start, and yes, I am going to mention him in every single review for this series despite the fact that he hasn’t been a main character since Book 3 because that is just how much I love him.) So I have faith that Emerson will grow on me and become more mature and likeable as her story continues. And to be fair, Emerson didn’t have an easy life, and then her whole life was upended and all the faerie stuff was new to her. She also made good decisions for the most part and cared a lot about her mother.

Speaking of the other characters though, it was good to see Violet, Ryn, Calla, and Chase again! There wasn’t a ton about them since this was Emerson’s story, but we still got to see what they’ve been up to and how they’re doing. It was also good to know that Ryn and Chase have been getting along, and *SPOILER* *END SPOILER*

The plot was good as well and kept me hooked but then, the plots are always solid in this series. I’m looking forward to finding out the explanations for some of the new mysteries (like everything about Emerson’s parents and that glass faerie) and seeing where certain things go. It’s also neat how there’s a bigger thread about the whole fae realm and the problems related to the Griffin Abilities and now the veil thing that kind of started in Book 1 but continues to impact all the characters and their stories (even though you could stop after Book 3 or 6 if you wanted to).

So overall, this was a good start to Emerson’s story with a solid plot, some action, lots of magic, and some familiar faces but also new characters, and I’m looking forward to diving back in with the next book and seeing how Emerson and the rest of the story develops!

*am holding the fifth star of my rating hostage until the rest of this series is released*
I feel like this was a really quick read and I say that as someone who's in a severe reading slump. Glass Faerie is the third part of the Creepy Hollow series and is the story of Emmy, a faerie who has lived as a human up until now. Not only is Emmy a faerie, she is also Griffin Gifted. We all know how the Guild is towards the Griffin Gifted so Emmy's new world just got a whole lot more complicated. I loved how there was so much mystery and uncertainty about Emmy and her background. What is she? How is she whatever she is? I liked the character of Dash but honestly I was just interested in seeing Chase again. I think he may be my favourite Creepy Hollow character of all time. I loved how Rachel Morgan shows us a different side of Creepy Hollow. It has been a while since book 6 and this one and the book clearly shows how much things have changed. I feel like the Creepy Hollow world keeps evolving and I love that! It makes everything so much more realistic and fun to read.
I flew through this book and I kinda regret that because I have no idea how long the wait for the next book is.

Wow! I loved this book. I loved Emerson. She is such a perfectly conflicted character who is so complex; a total mystery to everyone, including herself. I can't wait to unravel everything about her. I have a feeling she's probably related to Chase. But I'll have to wait and see. (I hate waiting!!) I loved how the meaning of the title was revealed so sneakily. I thought it had something to do with Em, but I loved that it was a tricky title and kept me guessing its significance. I can't wait to see who Ada is. Seriously, there were so many things I loved about this story. But one of my favorite elements was how we got to see the everyday details of the magical possibilities of the Creepy Hollow world. I've said this before about Rachel's Creepy Hollow books. But they remind me of the fun unique magical world of Harry Potter, and I love every aspect about it. I also loved Em's character development. Rachel is so good at writing characters who have to discover themselves and really develop into who they will be. The same goes for character relationships. I loved Em's and Dash's interactions. They reminded me of early Vi and Rhyn. So I'm excited to see where Em's Dash's friendship goes and how that will be confused with Roarke's involvement. Can't wait for book 8!!!

Emerson Clarke may wish she was just losing her mind in Rachel Morgan's Glass Faerie. I enjoyed seeing characters from the previous books. Em is a strong character who is sometimes fantastically sarcastic. I also feel for her situation. Yeah, I had tears in my eyes, and I was on just the first chapter. The fae world has also gotten darker, especially for certain types of faeries. Morgan writes fast-paced stories that you just don't want to put down. A reader could start with Rachel Morgan's Glass Faerie, despite being the seventh book in the Creepy Hollow series, as Emerson is a new character and is just learning about the fae world she's a part of. But you'll want to read the others as well. I'm so looking forward to reading what will happen to Emerson and the fae world next!

Glass Faerie (Creepy Hollow #7) by Rachel Morgan Rachel Morgan’s GLASS FAERIE is an imaginative and thrilling addition to the Creepy Hollow series.  Emerson Clarke (Em) discovers that she is not human.  She is a Fae with a powerful Griffin Ability that is making her highly sought after, and not necessarily in a good way.  This contemporary fantasy is suitable for young adults.

I really enjoyed GLASS FAERIE.  Rachel Morgan does a fantastic job of keeping this series fresh and exciting.  I love that Vi, Ryn, Calla, and numerous others are in this story.  They are the perfect allies for Em as she discovers her new life.  She goes through a lot in this story and has no idea who is trustworthy.

Em is an appealing heroine. Her mother was institutionalized, and she is living with her aunt and cousin.  Her aunt is the typical unpleasant guardian.  She is brave and loyal to her mother.  She has a lot to learn about her new realm.  I found her interaction with Dash amusing and look forward to seeing where their relationship goes.

I love Filigree and Bandit.  I totally want a formattra.

The glass fairy is an interesting adversary.  Her power is scary. I cannot wait to discover more about her in the next book.

The plot was well-executed.  It was full of mystery and excitement.  I am highly anticipating the next book.  I want to hear more of Emerson’s story.  I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Speak no evil

Em has her whole world turned upside down as she found out that not only are fairies real, she is one of them. Kind of like Alice falling down the rabbit hole, things get weirder from there. Em finds herself running for her life. Some old favourites show up to help her figure out who she is. Vi was always a favourite of mine. This book leaves you with more questions than answers. Who is she, where did she get her magic from and what does the glass fairy really want. The characters are interesting although predictable at times as instead of asking for help they rush into situations and lose what little control they had. Books would be boring if there was no suspense or mystery so I am downloading the next book now to find out the answers as I have always been fond of the Fae.

Every time I read one of Rachel Morgan's books I find myself immersed in this wonderful world that I really want to live in! This time I mostly want to live in a tree house.
This is a great return to the Creepy Hollow world, I really enjoyed reading about the new characters and seeing the familiar ones again. Emmerson doesn't realise she is a faerie with magic until it comes roaring out in the most unexpected way. She ends up jumping from one place to another only sometimes through choice and learns a lot about herself, though she has so much more to learn, including how to deal with her unusual abilities.
It ended a bit suddenly and I felt so lost that I had to go back and re-read the last few pages to let myself down slowly. I just cannot wait for book 8.

I simply loved it! As always Rachel Morgan never disappoints! She is such a great writer... I really enjoyed how Em is different from the two previous heroines, besides the fact that she is an outsider. I also really liked the new characters, Rachel just knows how to create them and make them believable and likable! They have so much depth! Impossible to get tired of them ! Having said that, it was a pleasure to read it, I wasnt so surprised at the cliffhanger becuase for once I guessed correctly why Em is the new main character. To be hjest I was a little surprised cuz by the middle of the book towards to the end I was a little bit questioning my hunch but at the end I was relieved I was right all along. Cant wait for the next to! Hope I dont have to wait a ling time for that...

Just when I know what's going to happen... I don't know what's going to happen. Rachel Morgan just keeps finding ways to make me question my sanity and everything I know. I like Emerson; the fact that she is new to the magic world brings a breath of fresh air to the story (not that it needed it because the other two trilogies were already amazing as they were, but still) and the mystery of who she is, what she is, how she is is thrilling! But most of all I really loved seeing my loves Violet and Ryn and Calla and Chase again (although I wish we'd seen more of him, but hey, I still have two more books to read.) And obviously it wouldn't be a Creepy Hollow book without a cliffhanger that left me gaping at my book. Luckily, I already moved on to the second!

Wow. Just wow. I've loved this series since the beginning, but this latest installment is my new favorite. Emerson, to me, is the most relatable of all the heroines that Rachel Morgan has created.

Emerson's introduction to the Faerie world and the politics of Creepy Hollow gave me, as a reader, a new insight into how things worked. And how things have changed in the world since the end of the last trilogy. In addition, Emerson's mysterious past and unknown future make for a compelling plot. I'm so excited to read (rather, listen) to the rest!!

I don't even remember when I read the first six books in this series. It's for sure been a while. But the last few weeks I noticed that I was constantly looking at this book, as if it was calling to me, wanting to be read. So, when I finished my other book early this morning I thought it was a great moment to finally pick this one up. For a moment I was afraid I wouldn't remember enough, but it seems there was no reason to be afraid of that.

From the very start I was sucked into this story and it was incredibly hard to stop reading. Morgan's writing style is just amazing. It's addictive, it's easy to read, it's realistic and the dialogues sound so real. And since we're following a new heroine, a heroine who's also entirely new to this world and has no idea what has happened and what is going on, there are loads of moments we're getting reminders of what has happened in the previous two trilogies.

It's very clear though that in this trilogy everything will come together. All the groups of people we met in the previous books are gonna play a role in this trilogy. All the characters we've gotten to know and come to love or hate are gonna play a role in this trilogy. And where the previous trilogies ended with happily for nows, where characters clearly weren't out of the danger zone, this trilogy might finally end happily ever after for all of them. I hope.

I do think that Emerson is the perfect heroine to star in this trilogy. She's not only new and unbiased, but she mostly has one of the most interesting gifts ever. She's basically a siren and where that power can be amazing you don't need much imagination to know that this power can also be pretty terrifying. Watching Emerson trying to balance and learn is amazing and I can't wait to see what she will learn and do in the next book in the series!

I finished this book in less than 24 hours. I couldn't put it down.. literally. I cleaned the house, curled my hair (burned my neck..) all while reading the book. I try to savor these books because the Creepy Hollow series reminds me of the time I was binge reading the Harry Potter series and I didn't want it to stop. It's the only series after Harry Potter that has me engulfed in this fantastic, enchanted, dramatically wonderful world of Creepy Hollow.

With that said, I have so many questions!! Is she going to eventually use her parkour skills to kick some Unseelie (and perhaps Seelie) Court butt?? What is the significance between the birthmark and Calla? Did she realllyyyy just drink too much??
Also, was the encounter with the Unseelie Court's Prince and Princess really not that important to discuss? All I could think was "TELL THEM TELL THEM FORGET THE PICNIC AND TELL THEM!!"
Lastly, I think I'm beginning to understand certain parts about her mom but I can not wait to find out who her father is!

I'm sure more will be explained in the next book but needless to say, I am anxiously waiting for #8 and am secretly wishing the series never ends. 😇

PS - can we talk about the genius that is Rachel Morgan? We all know Dash from Calla's story when he was just a baby. To base Em's story off of Dash who's all grown up now is such a clever way to keep the story going. 👏

This is the best one yet.

It’s a new story arc, so you don’t have to have read any of the previous books in the series to enjoy this one. But honestly, why would you not? It’s a wonderful series.

In this one, the plot’s a little different. Now, the main character is someone from the mundane world who realises that not only is magic real, and faeries are real, but she’s a faerie, and she can wield magic.

I guess it’s kind of reminiscent of the first arc, except it’s the opposite. In that one, the main character was the one to introduce someone from the mundane world to magic. In this one, the main character is the one being introduced. :)

As we’ve gotten used to, each new arc builds on the ones before, and although this one’s set some time after the last one, all the old characters are still there. They’re all older and wiser now, and in different phases of their lives.

Honestly, the world of this series is just so compelling. So engrossing. And the writing is so wholesome.

If you’re in any way a fan of Urban Fantasy, you really should give this series a look.

New tale in this wonderful world

Rachel Morgan has done a masterful job in this new tale set in the Creepy Hollow world, Glass Faerie. This novel grabbed my attention in chapter 1 and the suspense, action and mystery built through each succeeding chapter. Our favorite characters from the previous books join Emerson, our feisty and fierce heroine, along with other new characters, to solve the mystery of her origin and help her control her newly discovered Griffin ability. Em is new to magic and so each revelation is both frightening and awesome to her. There are so many questions to answer as they keep her out of the hands of the forces who wish to use her great power. In the end, it is Em who determines what she believes is the best course of action and it leaves us with a cliffhanger that makes us anxious for the next installment. Fortunately, Ms. Morgan promises that the next one will be available soon. This book can be read as a standalone, but is so much richer if you read the previous six. If you're new to the Creepy Hollow world, you could not spend your time better than to catch up before Creepy Hollow eight hits the shelves.

No words can truly express how much I enjoyed Glass Faerie! I've been in love with the Creepy Hollow series since Violet's story and every book after that has been amazing! Rachel definitely has a way of continuing the series without it losing its spark.

I loved Emerson, her personality, and also how she started cursing in the beginning and kinda slowed down from there because of Dash's opinion about it. Since, I'm not much of a "special word" user, it made me like the book even more because of Dash's remarks. I feel like book #7 was a bit more lighthearted then the other books, which is good thing! It had great twists and turns but also gave you more of a look into the joy of Ryn and Violets family and how they have made a life with all their family and friends. That alone, was much needed!

Definitely would recommend this book! I can't wait to read book 8!

Rachel Morgan knows how to write stories that you just cannot put down. From the first page, you are hooked.

Emerson is an amazing character. Thrown into a world she did know existed, but is a part of, she is forced to learn and take chances. She is stubborn and cynical but circumstances have made her so. She has to use her streetwise attitude to try save those she loves.

Dash is a character we met briefly in the previous Creepy Hollow series. He is strong and tries to help Emerson in the best way he can, but she is a force to be reckoned with.

This story is gripping and leaves you wanting more! The author has created a world of such vivid imagination, it is like watching a movie in your mind.

This story, and the entire series is one I recommend to those who enjoy fantasy and I cannot wait to read the next instalment.

FIVE STARS!

Oo la la! This is the new character in the series and I'm not sure how, but Rachel keeps this series alive and WELL!
At first I was confused as to who this story is about but then I quickly remembered who Dash (male lead and too young for me heartthrob) was. You learn about him in Calla's trilogy.
All I can say about this book is: WHO ENDS A BOOK LIKE THAT!!! GRRRR!
Apart from that it was incredibly easy to devour this book as the story was very fast-paced for me and I am really enjoying Emerson's story which is completely unlike Calla's or Violet's.
I am so excited to read the next installment but I'm not sure I can keep my patience in the bag until next year for the third book *sigh*

Glass Faerie was a lot different than what I expected, it wasn’t quite like the previous Creepy Hollow books, especially the beginning, but then again kind of the same (if that makes any sense?). In the end, I loved it nonetheless. There was humour, a bit of action and a great storyline that I’m excited see how it all turns out for Emerson.
I loved getting to know these new characters and well as some old ones (so happy to see Vi, Ryn, Calla and Chase back!). I can’t wait to see what becomes of Em and Dash (hopefully!). I loved their interactions and what they go through together, especially with Dash and how he’s always with Em not giving up.
I can’t wait to see what Em does next and what twists Rachel has in store for us in the next book.

Not too bad!

It’s a very cool story about Emmy. It took me awhile to warm up with Emmy. She has a feisty, bitter, close in personality but once you get to know her throughout the book, you start to like her little by little. Trust is an issue with Emmy especially when she discovered her magical power. Sad to say, she didn’t have any trust in the Human realm, either. Eck, it’s probably why it was a bit tough for me in the beginning of the book to read/listen-the lead character is hard to grasp of how she can be, her attitude isn’t so pretty like Vi or Calla. Overall, I truly like how things have changed in the Faerie realm. I will still continue reading it because the end gave a nice cliff hanger! (Audio Narrator portrays all the characters well!)

Every book from this series left my heart hanging in the air till I get my hands to the next book of the series.. Every character is so different yet so strong that throughout the series.. You can feel connected to each one of them.. I loved loved loved this book because the beginning is quite different than Vi's
and Cala's yet it is so strong..
I loved the fact that how human and relatable Em's character feels and how beautifully dark, twisted, helpless, fucked up situations are put together throughout the book that made Em's character a perfect blend of less faerie and more human (or amateur faeries)..
And that flower birthmark at the end gave me goosebumps.. Definitely kind of book I'll read again.. 💕

This book starts with a human child with magic abilities being discover and brought into the magic world. This book reads read a bit slow, but still keeps the reader on the edge of it's seat. The main character is well introduce and developed. in the beginning you can guess who this young women is, from the past reads. However, the need to know how the other characters will interact with her keeps you reading and guessing what is next . Too bad you have to wait to what happens next because the book ends even when the story is not yet complete.

Emerson is a different kind of heroine for Rachel Morgan. She's reluctant to even be involved in the faerie world. That boggles my mind since I would be freaking out in the best way and so eager to learn everything I could. This book just felt so short which is why it felt like not a lot happened so it wasn't quite as magical as the rest of the entire Creepy Hollow series has been for me. However, it does open up this trilogy within the series well and I can see the potential. Definitely looking forward to the next book.

Finally had the chance to sit down and finish this book to finally review it.
I'm kind of running out of things to say about this series. I feel like I'm getting repetitive. Rachel Morgan's writing is fenomenal and she doesn't fail to amaze me with every word she writes down. This book is amazing and I just can't get enough of the old characters that come back and fell in love with the new ones introduced.
So I'll just be here, waiting for the next book.

I was impressed with how easily I picked up on the story line and the "rules" of the fantasy worlds without reading any of the preceding books. The characters, particularly the main heroine, are believable, and the antagonists are awful; the drama will attract fans of this genre (young adult) as well as offer an exciting story to keep you entertained throughout!

Only caution: you might become addicted to the series...
