Though it is pokisham, it could be termed as cinema pokisham, so much was the concenration on celebrities from cini field. Never the less it was good to read some of the interviews taken with celebrities during their prime time. Also you get to know good amount of info on history. Though you cannot compare this with other reads, it is in a way different and hence I didn't feel like stopping it in middle.
Some of the stand outs are cho taking interview of cho himself, vairamuthu talking about rahmen during roja days, incidents that happened during chandralekha release and how the film was promoted in north india, vaali's poem on MGR during his death, editorial that was published in one of the issues of 1926 (tamil was so different and difficult that it required some effort to understand the meaning) are to name a few.
I was expecting wide range of articles across different fields, which was a let down in the book. May be it would be a good idea if vikatan can come up with a non filmy pokkisham, I think it would be an easy task as well. If you want to know about the cini stars of the past mostly and some incidents that happened in tamil nadu around 1950 - 80 then go for the book, if not you can ignore.
