"Dr. Bromfield opens a window on the imaginative world of the child for parents, teachers, and clinicians, and with it renewed conviction about the reparative power of child psychotherapy."
A captivating look into the function of (decidedly Freudian-leaning) play therapy, as administered by what seems like a competent, if excessively navel-gazing, child psychologist. I picked this up in hopes of getting a better understanding of how play therapy works, and it sort of delivered on that, but mostly it gave a list of startling case studies alongside the affirmation that every shrink has the same doubts and uncertainties, and it's just part of the job.
This book is really good! It's case studies in child therapy, but I learn well from that type of book.... it's also pretty analytic - just a fair warning for anyone considering it. :)
