The Dry Fire Primer

Rate this book
Dry fire - practicing without live ammunition - is an essential tool for every gun owner who wants to learn how to handle his or her firearm more proficiently. It saves time and money while remaining an effective training method whether you are interested in guns for a hobby, for self-defense, or for competition. While there are many books that describe specific dry fire regimens, they don't always give you the information you need to use them best. That's where The Dry Fire Primer comes in. It bridges the gap between "I've heard of dry fire" and "I'm going to be a dry fire maniac and use it to its greatest potential." Whether you're brand-new to dry fire or just feel like you could be getting a bit more out of it, this book is for you.

I've recently become frustrated that I don't seem to be improving with my shooting even though I make it to the range at least once every other month (which I had convinced myself was a lot) and determined that I should spend more time dry-firing. I've tried that in the past and found myself quickly bored with trying to see how quickly I could get my draw/on target. This book has helped open my eyes to how seriously I should be taking dry fire if I truly want to improve.

Little to none about different drills but lots of foundational things like journaling, block training vs random, etc. A good place to start.

Great preparatory read for Ben Stoeger’s book

Perfect read before starting Ben’s book. It will help develop the mindset for dry fire practice and put everything in perspective before you start

Good orientation

I wanted a basic orientation to dry fire and resources, and this is it. It's worth a read to get an idea of the basic setup, tools, and resources you'll need to save time and money during your practice.

All shooters should read this book

I’ve been stuck in my dry fire to live fire shooting improvement and have been looking to change my approach. I highly recommend this short but on point book.
