BOOK #5 IS COMING OUT IN 2 DAYS!

This book begins with Damien and Nikki in Dallas after one company had asked her to make a pitch about her proposal for a software. But turns out, that trip ended up being even more exciting because they find out that Nikki is pregnant. And, of course, that means that overprotective Damien is in overdrive in this book which is not so funny when he starts keeping secrets from Nikki in order to protect her.

“You made me a promise once, Damien. No more secrets.”

Nikki and Damien Stark are finally back with a full-length novel!!!

description

I just loved how Julie released all those little novellas for us and then BAM we get another real book about our two darlings! I would've been happy with a new novella a couple times a year forever, but this is so much better!!

I'll try not to spoil anything.
A lot happens in this book.
We have a LOT of change and emotion and fear and hope and sex and happiness!
I don't really want to say anything about the story.
Maybe a tiny little bit about the beginning - the story starts with our two darlings in Dallas. Nikki has an interview for a huge job for her app-design company. And she also wants to see her mother. To get closure. So there's lots on Nikki's mind, and that's only the beginning of what happens in Texas. ☺
But soon we're back home in Los Angeles and it's SO not time yet to ride off into a forever-ever-after sunset with every obstacle overcome. Pfffft. Hardly!
There are mothers, exes, psychos, press, friends, mysterious texts, secrets, problems and more problems ......

What will happen with Nikki & Damien this time?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺

There's not really much I can - or rather - want to - say about this story.

I never ever want to say goodbye to this series!

ANCHOR ME was another amazingly perfect #MustRead about Nikki & Damien and all the others! Very moving, sexy & exciting! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Damien - this one is MINE! ☺

★ 4 STARS★

I welcome any opportunity dive headlong into the world of The Starks. I’ve been addicted to their brand of love from the moment I first met them. Although extremely fortunate, it has not always been an easy road for Nikki and Damien. Through it all they have weathered the storm and look to each other as one another’s anchor.

Their horizon is blighted by some emotionally devastating events that are enough to drag any couple to the lowest ebb. What sets them apart is the ferocity of their love and the strength of conviction they have in it.

J. Kenner’s Stark series never fails to seduce with its luxurious writing and enthralling ability to sweep readers of their feet. Once again I found myself charmed by a spell I hope will never wear off.

Over three years ago, I met Julie Kenner's Stark series, and I've been enamored with this incredible author's words ever since. The seductive, steamy, sweet, and suspenseful Stark trilogy by J. Kenner that started with Release Me spun into a series of stories that own me for life. Damien and Nikki are back, and their love is stronger than ever!!!

The latest full Stark series novel, Anchor Me, is FLAWLESS and PHENOMENAL!!! This tale takes Nikki and Damien's saga full circle. Scorching, sweet, and soul-searing, Anchor Me is the ultimate love story that stands the test of time and tribulation. THE TRUEST LOVE!

Excited to be reunited with my favorite J. Kenner couple and series, I sank myself into Anchor Me and was glued to this story—never surfacing for air—until the end. Thoroughly captivated and claimed, I clamored for more. I WAS ALL IN!!!

Anchor Me is the perfect continuation of original trilogy. This story is sprinkled with déjà vu moments that were a mix of UTTERLY DREAMY, DOWNRIGHT TERRIFYING, and INSANELY SATISFYING moments…so PERFECT…so RIGHT.
The Starks stamped themselves all over me, imprinting me with their endless love, imprinting me with every obstacle they faced, imprinting me with every emotion, imprinting me everywhere.

There is no greater love story than that of Damien and Nikki Stark. Their devotion is UNPARALLELED and EVERLASTING…true love at its finest. Damien and Nikki are, hands down, one of my all-time favorite romance couples!!! I LOVE them sooo much!

I see a love so fierce it has the power to melt me, and I revel in its power to soothe.

It didn’t take long before my body was on fire and my emotions were fine-tuned with everything Nikki and Damien. Sinfully sexy Damien treats Nikki like a goddess, worshiping her inside and out. She is his princess and he is her prince, and Damien continues to rescue Nikki. He is the light to her dark, and Damien gives Nikki the world…his world.

"Let it go, baby. Let the tide take you. I'll be your tether. I'll always pull you back home."

I melted as these beautiful words showed just how powerful Nikki and Damien’s bond is, a forever love. Anchor Me is TENDERNESS…TRUE LOVE...and oh how I LOVED THEE. Oh how I love their devotion!!! Damien and Nikki’s chemistry is magnetic, as their bodies are attuned to each other so closely that they are one. One heartbeat for long-lasting love.

I’m gasping, my hands fisted in the sheets, lost in this sensation of being so completely connected with him.

Anchor Me MELTED ME, as I turned to molten lava from sweet and seductive words that turned me into a pile of mush. I was so lost in these words that made me succumb to their power; their poignancy was EVERTHING.

There’s a gulf between us. A small one, maybe, but it’s there. And I don’t know how to cross it. But I need to.

Anchor Me is the perfect continuation of this spellbinding, smoldering, suspenseful, and scintillating saga. Light-hearted moments balance the heavier or more serious ones, brining the perfect balance of tough and tenderness to Anchor Me. Nikki and Damien’s relationship is put to the ultimate test in this saga as ghosts from the past haunt and taint this couple, veiled threats that are terrorizing.

This is a story of strength in spades, and Damien and Nikki are stronger than ever! Together, they are fierce. One battle….one team….one forever…MY FOREVER.

Anchor Me grasped my heart and soul, as I sank so hard into this spellbinding story. I WAS SO ENRAPTURED with this beautiful and brilliant book! Anchor Me...yes this INTOXICATING story did so much. I was tethered to this thrilling and tender tale, this testament to love.

I LOVED being wrapped up in this romance, and could entangle myself in the Stark family FOREVER! This series burns my body and slams into my soul with every single story. I will never get enough of Damien and Nikki's life where I'm so eternally connected and consumed!!!

The Stark Trilogy is a forever favorite series, and a TOP 2017 READ!!! I'm still breathless, basking in the glow of this brilliant and beautiful book! Anchor Me was everything I'd hoped for and more! I’ll always be anchored to this spectacular series and STILL NEED MORE!

5 Stark Stars!

This book touched me on so many levels, it was amazing! Anchor Me is the fourth full-length installment in the Stark series. I read the first three books back in 2013, and I couldn’t wait for this new chapter in their life. Nikki and Damien’s story is heartbreakingly beautiful, it makes you believe in the healing power of love. They have been through so much and together, they are strong. Their love radiates off the pages, the intensity of their feelings is their strength.

Nikki revels in her husband’s love, she is happier than ever. His love is all encompassing, he is her most ardent fan, her best friend, her role model in her business endeavors and her protector. He always stands by her side while she confronts the ghosts of her past. His tenderness tugged at my heartstrings, he is just perfect! He is perceptive and understanding, he truly is her rock. She needs him so much, her past is still haunting her and she is afraid of the future. Nikki and Damien’s chemistry is intense, it’s a given if you have read the Stark trilogy. And in this book, I found that the sexy scenes never overshadowed the truly emotional aspect of the book, their soulmate connection.

Julie Kenner is an amazing storyteller, she demonstrates once more her ability to weave together gripping storylines with powerful emotional complexity, she really makes you feel so much. I was immediately pulled into the story, it was multi-layered, mysterious, riveting and angsty. I savoured every word of this book, I read it slowly and didn’t want to read the word “end”! And yet, I found that the ending was absolute perfection! Needless to mention that I can’t wait for the next installment in Damien and Nikki’s story, the novella “Hold Me”!

If it’s been a while since you read the Stark trilogy, no worries, Julie Kenner did an excellent job at introducing each and every character she revisited. To conclude, this book was everything I hoped it would be, and so much more, I highly recommend it!

I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

This is the fourth book in this series that follows the deep and passionate love between billionaire, alpha Damien Stark and the southern belle ex-beauty queen Nikki Fairchild. This book picks up after their wedding where the couple face even more trials and tribulations in their life together. I love Damien and Nikki Stark I have been a fan of this trilogy since book 1, and it was so good to have a wonderful conclusion to their story. The characters are so intricate and lovable, the story line is addictive and captivating and the sex between these two is always hot and explosive. Very sad to have to let go of Mr&Mrs Stark, brilliant narration by Sofia Willingham.

I was given a free copy in exhange of a free review. This might contain spoilers, since the book doesn't come out untill April, so BE WARNED

4 star book

Let me begin with this: the way the blurb delivered it, it seemed as though there would be more drama between Damien and Nikki. I have never been married, therefore i am no expert in marriage, but all these problems they have seem pretty common to me. Mainly external, like their ghosts, but there are some internal ones such as communication problemas. But it wasn't a major problem.

Another thing was Nikki. Becuse of the blurb, she sounded like a decisive/resolute/determined(honestly i can't find the word i am looking for). It literally said "the Southern belle who only says “yes” on her own terms". But she wasn't neither determined nor meek, so i guess i can't complain.

What i did love was the romance between them. IF i ever get married or anything (gotta find a man first), i would wish for something like what they had. They knew each other so well, they could determine the other's mood. You could tell they were made for each other. What they had was more than lust or desire, it was pure love. Nikki would do anything for Damien, and he would do the same for her. And i think that is something the author projected well in this book. Their love was so blantantly obvious, and i resally liked it.

It's a great book for anyone looking for a romance novel, with one or two steamy scenes, here you have it.

Nikki being delusional about her mother, getting pregnant while building her own empire (Seriously, Damien's humongous empire isn't enough?), having miscarriage summed up the plot of this story.

Love isn't reliance, baby. The truth is, you can stand on your own. But you choose to stand with me.

Anchor Me is EVERYTHING! Emotional. Sensual. Captivating. From cover to cover, I was bewitched by the storyline, devouring this book in mere hours. Kenner writes in a world she has perfected about subjects near and dear to her heart. The combination is intoxicating.

As a Stark fan from the very beginning, this was a storyline I have been begging, pleading and “patiently” waiting over 3 and a half years for! I simply cannot get enough of these characters and could read them forever. .

Damien. Need I say more? He is the definition of the perfect alpha male: dominating yet gentle, enchanting any audience with his finesse.

At this point in the series, I would swear that Nikki is my BFF. I cheer her on, listen to her worries and cry with her.

Anchor Me is absolute perfection delivering exactly what the fans have been wanting and more than we ever thought to ask. Bravo, Kenner! Bravo!

I have to say that I loved this story cover to cover.I have to say that this was just my luck to pick up this story and it has to be the end of the trilogy .Regardless I could not help but be addicted to the characters Ms. Jenner wrote about and went a got the rest of the books in its series and read the entire series in two days and fell in love with her characters all over again.

This was one hot read and also her previous books in its series. And addictive read that had me engrossed from the very first pages.I loved the drama, love, chemistry, role playing, suspense, the off the chart sex scenes along with dealing with some serious life altering issues.

I normally pick a favorite in each book to go on about but its just to hard to choose between Damien and Nikki so I am choosing them both they were both amazing characters that I could not help but be drawn to both of them.

I love so much about Nikki her strength, sense of humor, how open and honest she is,ambitious, how she loves whole heartily, her possessiveness when it comes to Damien and how smart and sexy she is and how she chose to deal with her pain in a more positive way.

Omg Damien I fell head over heels for him from the get go.I loved that he was smart, sexy, ambitious, loved his dark side along with his Dominate side ,how he loved whole heartily as well, how possessive he was of Nikki and her needs and wants and her happiness and how he always put her first.I love how he gave as much as he took.

The sexual chemistry was off the charts for this couple.I love how they added humor and playfulness into their sexual games to make it so much more exciting for both of them.I loved all the side character's as well. They added humor and fun to the pages when it took on more of a more serious tone.Ollie and Jamie were love able characters as well even with all their faults and bad decisions they kept constantly making. They made me laugh ,especially Jamie and the things that came out of that girls mouth to funny..Jamie was the perfect friend for Nikki they were total opposites that kept each other in check.

I love when your able to connect with the character's you read about and I was able to make that connection with both Nikki and Jamie.Fate had a hand in bringing this couple together at the right time and place.Damien was just what Nikki needed and vise versa they needed one another to heal their wounded souls and bring them true happiness both of them deserved.

A winner in our book and definitely goes in the keeper pile to read over and over again. If you love suspense, humor, really hot sex scene's ( and their are tons of them) with the Dominate and submissive role playing angle with a very touching emotional love story that tackled some really painful issues that a couple deals with in childhood as well as adulthood this is the perfect story for you. This is not the kind of story for those that have a sensitive natures it deals with real raw emotions the kink aspect in a couples relationship that brings sexual gratification to both parties that gives them what the need ,want enjoy .Not a story for those who are vanilla that is for sure the open minded yes.

I love a story that gives you a lot to think about after its over.Like how if you were Nikki could you cope with all the drama that came from begin in love with a very powerful and wealthy man? Deal with enemies he's made along the way,the secrets he carries , the press never allowing you a moments piece and constantly invading your personal life?Someone constantly out to get you and ruin the happiness you have finally found to complete you? Could you love someone like that and eventually not let all those things come between you ? Perhaps break you?I love when a story just sticks with you after its over and has you thinking back to something that made you laugh or cry throughout the day when you finished the story hours or days ago.

What more can I say? I loved it along with the other books in its series as well as the novella's and would recommend reading. If you loved Fifty shades of Grey give this series a look at it just be just what your looking for next.

My Review:

What a wonderful book this turned out to be here. I absolutely adored every single moment with Damien and Nikki and we are finally back to a regular length book and as much as I like the novellas, I embrace wholly the full length novel so we can get the most from Damien and Nikki. This novel was such an emotional one for me and so far its my favorite of the series. J. Kenner really delivered with this one and I couldn't get enough. But I will say its the most emotional book that I have ever read from her. And those that have read this installment, know exactly what I mean by this. And finally these two grow their family. I have been waiting for so long for it to happen and it finally did. And their journey was so poignant and heartfelt. You see so much growth with this couple but most especially from Nikki. She really has to face up to some inner demons and man her mother is a piece of work (can she just not go away lol). I really was deeply impressed with how her character was written and at first I wasn't sure how I felt about Nikki. But you really see the damage and abuse her mother put on her in this one, but seeing her overcome those issues and truly embrace her inner womanhood was beautiful. She grows into the woman she was meant to be and her developed character just resonated so deeply for me. I loved how Damien stood strong in many cases here. They have some setbacks and struggles though, but they work through them like how most couples should work through their issues.

Overall Anchor was a PURE delight and I will treasure this one in my library for quite a long while! A true keeper of healing, inner strength and the beauty of love overcoming fear.

Anchor Me is book Four in the Stark Trilogy and continues the story of Damien Stark and Nikki Fairchild. You will need to have read the previous books to fully enjoy this one I think.
Damien and Nikki are such a joy to read. These two have been through so much and are still working to keep going through different trials. With this book Nikki is going back to some old haunts of the past to move forward in her work. There is also another threat that they are dealing with.
Damien and Nikki are book characters you never get enough of and Ms. Kenner has been generous to keep giving us more. I would highly recommend this series.

Okay, so I'm happy that I finally finished this series because now I can finally have my life back.

Before I start with my review can I just say the character of Nikki...

description

She is weak and needy, I just want to slap her, tell her to grow the f@%&* up and move on. She drives me mad, I can not understand how people like her! She has no backbone. Like none. I would think that by book four (which is more like book 15) she would have grown enough to stand up to her mother. Yet she is exactly the same! I literally have never seen such a lack of growth of character. She is as self-centered and self-absorbed as every other book. Urgh.

My second problem with this book is the fact that on Ms J. Kenner websites it says you can read this book without reading all the mini books in between. Can I just point out that the only way that is true is if you are Ms J. Kenner herself, I skipped a few "unnecessary-to-read" books in between because guess what? I actually have a life and my bat cave was shining (if you want to know what I mean, send me a message because it's not a PG topic).

Seriously she writes about characters assuming you have read the books - even though she says you don't have too - which is kind of like when you get drunk, make new friends, give out your number and the next morning wake up with no idea about why some guy named Mark has sent you a message saying he is on his way to fetch you for a hike (not like that has ever happened to me at all).

The only reason this book received two stars instead of one is because of Damien, talk about the growth of a character. Why can one character grow but not the other? And because a certain character was named Lara (which is my name; and I am selfish enough to admit that made me feel cool).

Sorry about the rage, but I have never felt so frustrated with a book before and I needed to get it off my chest. That or take this boob prison off... I feel like either one will help.

ARC received for an honest review

Fight you for Damien - I win!

Yes! More Nikki and Damien!

I am not going to lie, I have been a Starkie since I first started reading this series, and each and every story makes me fall for him even more.

I quickly read Entice Me before I dived into Anchor Me, and I am glad that I did, because Anchor Me continues on right from the end.

Still so much going on in Nikki and Damien's world, just when you think things will finally run smoothly for them, another obstacle is thrown in their way. Ugh, I wanted to throw something AT the obstacles this time!

We saw a softer side of Damien this time, one that made me shed a tear or two - oh heck, who am I kidding, I may have cried like a baby at one time!

There's not much I can say without giving something away about Anchor Me. As much as I loved where our lovelies are at the end of Anchor Me, I am so glad that we will be getting more later on.

Anchor Me is sweet, sexy, suspensey read that i couldn't put down once I started.

I loved it. I need more.

description I'm right beside you, I promise you, sweetheart. I'm not going anywhere.

Four years.
Four books.
Seven novellas.
One couple.
And I am nowhere near done with Damien and Nikki. Every time Kenner announces that she is releasing another Nikki and Damien novella, it is just waiting to be devoured. I get greedy with each book that comes out and then getting to know that one of my favorite couples is getting another book, I was so excited!

If you've read the novellas prior to the release of Anchor Me, you know what all has happened in their life. Anchor Me picks up where the last novella, Entice Me, ended. This book starts with Damien and Nikki in the place of Nikki's nightmares, Dallas, for a proposal to develop a software for a Dallas-based company that Nikki wants. The trip that was exciting in so many ways, and not necessarily in the best way at the beginning, turned out to be one of the best and most memorable trips they've ever had.

Nikki being pregnant and Damien being the overprotective father is something I had been waiting and wanting to read about for SO long it is not even funny anymore. GAH! It was absolutely amazing to read about it.
Damien's reaction to Nikki's pregnancy was absolutely the sweetest. Nikki had a few insecurities which stemmed from her own relationship, or lack thereof, with her mother. But when she snapped out of that funk she and Damien treasured this absolute wonderful experience, albeit briefly.

description You made a promise once, Damien. No more secrets.

keeping in mind the previous books in the Stark Trilogy, novels and novellas combined, I was expecting a lot of drama but there wasn't much of that and I am truly appreciative of that. Of course being that they are Damien and Nikki, they had their fair share of problems like Nikki's mother and her ex-co-worker Tanner and the surprise pregnancy, but for a moment it didn't feel over the top. I didn't for a moment feel that Kenner was drowning the story in unnecessary drama. Unlike the previous books, Anchor Me, even with what the drama and secrets, was comparatively a light and easy going read.

description Because even if the world is crashing down around us and it feels like there is nothing you can control, you can still control me.

Oh! How can we forget Damien and Nikki's intense and burning chemistry? This time they both lean on each other and look for comfort in each other and you can easily imagine how intense their lovemaking would have been.

Overall, god yes! I definitely enjoyed the story and appreciated the levity in the book when compared to the rest. The only problem I have is with the way the book ended. No! it was not a cliffhanger but the ending definitely felt a little rushed. One more chapter is what might have just been needed to end the story. If you are a fan of all things Damien and Nikki then I recommend that you pick this up.

PS: If you haven't read the series and want to give them a try, I highly advise that you start from the beginning and read all the novellas after Book 3 so that it is easy for you to connect all the dots in Book 4.

4 Stars!

Anchor Me is the perfect title for Damien and Nikki Stark's newest story. Their love for each other healed some of their past scars, and it continues to keep them balanced on solid ground even when it feels like the firmament is giving way.

Damien and Nikki share a fierce love and even though the need to protect one another leads to secrets and lies - ones that plant a barrier between them - the couple always knows how to bridge the divide and bring it back to what's most important - each other.

What I love most about this couple is that despite the baggage of their pasts and those who would like to witness their undoing in the present, nothing and no one can indefinitely divide them, and that continues to be illustrated in Anchor Me.

Damien and Nikki still fight demons, but now, they do it together, and it's clear that even when Damien is keeping something from Nikki, he's doing so to protect her because she is the most important person in his life, and he refuses to let her down.

Anchor Me is an emotional read because Damien and Nikki are at a point in their lives where readers want them to move forward and grow with what they want to surround themselves with, and it's that very idea that Nikki struggles with because the reality of what happens next in their marriage scares the hell out of her because of what she experienced as a child, and that fear holds her captive for parts of the storyline and readers can't help but feel her anxiety and her pain as she works through her insecurities and realizes that she's nothing like her mother.

It's been made crystal clear throughout the series that there will always be someone or something looking to shake-up what Damien and Nikki have worked to create, both professionally and personally, and as Damien and Nikki have evolved and grown into the characters they currently are in Anchor Me, it's also quite obvious that this couple refuses to allow outsiders to sway their feelings for the one person who has consistently had their back since they got together.

I'll never get enough of this sexually charismatic and devoted couple because J Kenner continues to mold and reshape them as she crafts new and difficult trials for them to endure, and for each obstacle that Damien and Nikki overcome, their love and their bond grows and further solidifies, proving they naysayers wrong and creating a connection that can never be destroyed because they refuse to allow it to be.

Fans of J. Kenner’s Stark series have been clamoring for another book all about Damien & Nikki’s dynamic relationship. And not only did we get just that, but we also got one heck of a wild ride as the lovely couple found out they had yet even more to overcome in their search of a HEA.

“You’re my strength Nikki. We both know that. And there’s no shame in needing the person you love.” His smile touches his eyes. “I actually think that’s the point.”

Anchor Me was somewhere between a novella and a full length book at not quite three hundred pages. But it was packed full of the explosive chemistry that is Nikki and Damien Stark. Plus it pulled in characters from other spinoffs of the Stark world including the S.I.N. and Stark International series. I do think readers would benefit from reading previous books in at least the Stark Trilogy before picking this one up, but if you’re new to this world of all things Stark, I think with some perseverance you can read this as a standalone.

My love for Nikki Fairchild Stark and Damien Stark is vast and true. I’ve been in love with their romance from the beginning in Release Me, through all their ups and downs and sideways. I’ve watched this love grow, develop, blossom and bloom, and I am absolutely, hands down, in love with their glorious, moving, lovely conclusion in Anchor Me.

As a reader and humongous fan, I couldn’t ask for a better “ending” to Nikki and Damien’s story. They have both weathered so many storms—drawn strength from each other. Held each other up. Loved each other fiercely. Protected each other against all foes. Anchored each other through stormy seas.

I could go on and on and on with my gushing over Anchor Me and this amazing Stark Trilogy series, but I’ll stop and just sit back and reflect upon all the feels that are still stirring through my system. ~ Missy, 5 stars

J.Kenner is a good writher, thats why She can get away with this cashcow.
Damian is great and Nikki is a whiny little girl, who needs to grow a pair.
After endless amounts off books and novella`s.I still dont get why there
is so little to non growth with her.it makes the reading dull and boring.
it is time too pull the plug with this series.

This story is so cheesy. The only thing happening in this book is nikki playing a victim and whining about everything the whole book and the only things damien says the whole book is : nikki, baby, sorry,i love you. The first book was so good. But the books after release me started to turn more in boring insta love

Anchor Me (Stark Trilogy #4) by J Kenner
4.5 stars!!!

“…trust isn’t a panacea any more than it’s a curtain to hide behind.”

Damien and Nikki have been a couple I have avidly followed for nearly four years. From the very first book these two have cemented themselves as one of my favourite book couples and the adversity that these two have faced would have crippled many a relationship. Damien and Nikki however, alone are vulnerable but together are impenetrable and Anchor Me cements that relationship between them. These two are truly formidable, and while J Kenner still gives them a few curveballs in this book, as ever, these two pull together.

“…there are ghosts everywhere. And we’re both going to have to get used to fighting them.”

I really do not want to go into anything that this book covers, because it would literally ruin the experience for you the reader, however, this book is a testament to the power of being married to your soul mate, to the one that truly understands you and loves you, the positives, the negatives and the flaws. The power of love should never be underestimated and these two prove that theory in every single way. Damien and Nikki are each other’s rocks, they are there in times of trouble and times of intense passion, but whether they are in or out of their sheets, their connection is palpable and their love for one and other radiates from each single page.

J Kenner has brought this couple to life and the character connection that I have to these two holds no bounds and that is testament to J Kenner’s writing ability. This was the book that I had begged and pleaded for, a book that I desperately wanted to read because if any couple deserved completion, it was these two and this book does just that. Demons put to bed, loose ends tied up and one happy couple.

“I don’t like it when there’s a chasm between us.”
“Neither do I, baby. But there’s always a bridge.”

This book was emotional, yes, I did shed a few tears, but that emotion is borne from my intense connection to this couple, when they hurt, I hurt. While this book did not have as much drama as usually follows this couple around, the drama they come into contact with is emotionally draining, both for them and me the reader. It is these scenes that I have to kudos to J Kenner for, these scenes were depicted to perfection, each page compelling.

“Love isn’t reliance, baby…The truth is, you can stand on your own. But you choose to stand with me.”

My only complaint was that I did feel that the ending was a little rushed, maybe that is just me wanting to cling onto this couple for longer, but for pivotal moments I wanted them explored and elaborated a little bit more. We do have another novella to look forward to though, so this is not the end for these two. Hold Me releases in May and I for one, cannot wait.

Before I begin my review, I gotta tell the world: I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway!!! How exciting! I enter these giveaways all the time without actually expecting to win. But I did and now I'm excited to share my thoughts on this book. (But let's note that winning this book did not sway my review.)

So I was honestly shocked to see that there would be a fourth edition to the Stark Trilogy. I've been reading the little short novellas that come out every once in awhile, so I knew about the new characters (Frank). But I never expected another book. And now that it's hear, the whole thing reads like an epilogue, but a long one. Don't get me wrong, there's a story and a struggle (a few struggles actually) and there is resolution, but it felt like an encore or something.

This book was very nostalgic. We get to reconnect with Nikki and Damien and experience their love. And overall, it's good. A real tragedy occurs in their story and it's good to see how they go through the stages of dealing with that. And surrounding all of that, old trouble returns for both Damien and Nikki. And watching them each tackle those struggles brings back the core of who these characters are and where they came from. Overall, it was a good read. I don't know if there will be another book, but I liked the epilogue-like feeling this book gave me. It was good to revisit with these characters. Thank you Goodreads for letting me read it.

Anchor Me written by J. Kenner
5 stars...as if Julie could do anything less…

This book tugged on my heart so hard. I was laughing, crying, praying, cursing and cheering along with Nikki and Damien.

Damien and Nikki are both fierce in their own way, but they are unstoppable and show a different strength when they are in sync. They have a connection that is unique and they not only balance out one another, but make each other stronger when together.

Damien has promised Nikki no more secrets. He praises her for what she has overcome and reminds her of her strength yet he continues to try to put out fires without letting her know what's going on. He should have learned his lesson and known this wouldn't end well once Nikki finds out. Their past continues to haunt them both and test their loyalty, trust and faithfulness once again.

“That’s as much as I get out before the sob escapes and fat tears trail down my cheeks. I’m not even tethered to the earth right now. I’m just a wash of jumbled emotions, twisting so fast I can’t even process them.... All battering against me, leaving me overwhelmed and numb and not at all certain that this can really be happening.”

Will Nikki be strong enough to handle what life has dealt them? Will she go back to her old ways? Will Damien be able to give her what she needs or has he put too much distance between them with his secrets?
