Wonderful read - you become totally involved from the beginning trying to figure out 'who dunnit' and even though there is very helpful foreshadowing it still comes as a surprise at the end. Delightful romance too just to add to it. Well done Margaret for hitting on some of the most iconic symbols for New Zealand and writing a highly authentic novel. Of course this review is biased as I know the author personally but I am sure I would write the same with just my teacher hat on.

This is a great read , the first book by this author and I will be looking for more . I loved the cover , it enticed me to pick up the book , open it and begin reading and I found it difficult to put down.
As a New Zealander I feel the author has captured the essence of the country and created a great yarn .
It has some romance , as well as mystery and will appeal to anyone who wants to escape for a while.
