I was so inspired by our author study assignment that I am actually using it with my students. I ordered this from Barnes and Noble to read to the class. I will definitely show them some of the video clips I got on teachingbooks.net, too. I will have literature circles with her different books.I got the Mercy Watson books and the companion audio CDs to support my lower readers, and the high readers will read either Edward Tulane or Despereaux.

The biography is very well done.It talks about DiCamillo from her early childhood years and really gets into the process of writing. The look of the text is very graphic and modern, so I think it will appeal to today's kids.

Really good.I learned a lot about her approach to writing.Hard work combined with magic and learning how to observe the world around me.
