Good Hope #6

Marry Me in Good Hope

Rate this book
Of all the things Hadley Newhouse expected to find in Good Hope, love wasn’t on the list.

The baker extraordinaire has spent the last three years hiding her past and holding her breath. It isn’t that she likes being evasive. She just doesn’t want to open old wounds. Still, Hadley understands there’s a fine line between discretion and disaster, and she’s pretty sure agreeing to work for sexy single-father David Chapin leaps right over it.

David knows firsthand the havoc secrets can wreak. It was a secret that made his ex-wife walk out on their family, and now a secret elopement has cost him his daughter’s longtime nanny. When he learns that Bloom’s Bake Shop will temporarily close, leaving Hadley without work, he immediately offers her a job. He already knows his daughter adores Hadley, and after a few days with the beautiful baker, David realizes he does too.

Hadley has always believed that happily ever after was meant for other people, not for her. Yet when David paints a picture of a life with him and his daughter, Hadley begins to believe her dream really could come true. But before that can happen, she must come clean. David deserves to know what really brought Hadley to Good Hope—even if hearing it means he’ll want Hadley gone for good.

I've been curious about Hadley in previous books in this series, and it was interesting finally getting to read her story. Hadley has clearly been holding onto secrets, but she's such a sweet woman and I've always liked how she interacted with Brynn Chapin. When Brynn's father needs a nanny, and Hadley needs a job, it is a perfect situation.

Good Hope is a wonderful small town, and the activities and ambiance set a nice tone for the story, as do the friends and relatives of the characters. I always look forward to reading the books in this series - they are like "comfort food" for readers.

who doesn't love a good wedding? I love this series, I really enjoy Cindy's writing style. I look forward to each of these reads ... I love this community ... each character has their style, quirk, funny-ness ... You will be pulled into them so easily. They will make you think of your favorite book or tv show ... not really like but makes me think of the Gilmore Girls or Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove ... I guess our minds just do that ...recalling similar ideas or thoughts. I wanna move here, I bet it would be so pretty in person. I love the way Cindy does describe her town or scenes. So perfect. Now if I had to pick a fave ... it would be Forever in Good Hope book 4, 'cause I love fall ... all area of the world look beautiful in fall moments. I love the crisp season, the temps, the food ... the clothing, it just make everything gorgeous. but that is just my tastes. Enjoy this series today. ( ;

I received an advance copy from the publisher and am reviewing it independently.

I was so excited to finally read Hadley's story. She has been Ami Bloom Cross's right hand woman at the bakery, and her story has been told in Marry Me in Good Hope.

Hadley only wanted for her daughter, Brynn, to have a wonderful life and family, and that is why Hadley chose David and Whitney Chapin to adopt Brynn when she was an infant. The only request Hadley made was that they give Brynn the middle name of Elizabeth. But Hadley and Brynn share more than the middle name. Everyone in town has alluded that the two look alike and now they know why.

David Chapin also has it tough. His ex-wife Whitney has left him with sole custody of Brynn, who recently lost her best friend, nanny and her mother left town. David hires Hadley to be Brynn's nanny, but they fall into a pattern of a married couple. When Hadley tells David the truth about Brynn's parentage, David reacts accordingly, asking for a DNA test. But the sparks are flying between David and Hadley that ultimately leads to a marriage proposal.

I enjoyed reading Hadley's story, and seeing her interact with the Bloom sisters. With David's mother engaged to Steve Bloom, Hadley will become family with the Bloom sisters. It is a great way to see this story end.

I wish Cindy would write one last story to tie up all of the loose ends - Will Marigold get her family that she wanted now that she is married to Cade? Will Fin and Jeremy have their family also? What will happen with Bloom's Bake Shop now that Ami is pregnant again? What does the future hold for Eliza and Kyle as well as David and Hadley? Is there a happy every after for Lindsey?

This is Hadley’s story. And I’m conflicted about where to begin. The book wasn’t short, but it felt rushed; the H/h went from 0 to 60 in negative time. It starts off with Hadley overhearing a conversation between David and his mother about his nanny who up and quit without notice. Next thing you know, she’s been offered the role as nanny and they are in love. I’m not even sure they spent the requisite amount of time tiptoeing around their friends hiding their relationship.

Then there was filling in the backstory of all the players from the previous books. I understand the purpose, but some of them played such insignificant parts in this story that it was confusing and I spent a lot of time dialing back to remember them. On the other hand, with the backstories of the characters it may could be read as a standalone.

When it came time for Hadley’s big confession, it was a huge question mark moment and was totally out of left field. What we learned was she moved to town, but kept her past very private. She alluded to something fairly large from her past and them WHAM! and it was a struggle for me.

It’s not your every day boy meets girl, boy loves girl, girl loves boy story. There are some pretty hefty details buried in there, but it just didn’t work for me.

For the most part, I liked this series and I like Cindy Kirk a lot. I don’t know if it has just gotten to the point where the story stretched out so far or what, but I think this ties for my least favorite. I really wanted to like it more than I did. It’s not horrible, but I’m not sure I could recommend this one. If it rated with words vs stars, it would be a lukewarm “meh,” which translates to a loose 3 stars.

I give this book 5 stars. The storyline between Hadley, David and Brynn was well written and a great read. This is the 6th book in the Good Hope series written by Cindy Kirk. Hadley works to jobs and has herself closed off from everyone. She has no family left after being abandoned by her mother and her father died three years ago. David needs a nanny her daughter's nanny just eloped and quit without giving notice. David offered Hadley the job, she accepted. She is worried that someone might find out her secrets. What are her secrets? You will love this book. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the Publisher.

I've enjoyed this whole series very much. It's a time where you can leave reality for a little while. One area I found grateful for this particular story was the forgiveness given to each other. I figured this story would be similar to the others, but was pleasantly surprised there was a little more angst involved. My only negative is the romance seemed to be speeded up and the drowning scene was a bit hurried. I would rather have witnessed that happening to get the most emotion from it. It appears this story can continue since there are several open conflicts.

I was given an advanced copy for my honest opinion.

As always, I look forward to Cindy Kirk's Good Hope novels with great anticipation and this new one did not let me down.

Hadley and David Chapin have always been characters on the periphery of the Bloom Family in Good Hope so I wasn't sure what to expect. The reasons for Hadley being in Good Hope were only really alluded to, we knew there was more to her story, we just had to wait to find out, and find out we do!!!

This book is by no means straight forward, Hadley has a good story to tell and Cindy tells it very well. This Good Hope novel is not just boy meets girl with a happy ever after, there is more to it. I've always been curious about Hadley as she worked with Ami and they were good friends and the way Cindy wrote about Hadley as if there was a story to tell that no one knew. Well we do now!

This Good Hope novel is as easy and lovely to read as all the others but I really felt for Hadley, David and Brynn. The characters are well drawn and likeable, it was so easy to empathize with them.

Although the Bloom Sisters feature in the novel they are not the main focus and I thought this would detract from the novel but it doesn't; Hadley and David are more than capable of carrying the story. I love how all the old characters blend into the stories leaving me feeling bereft of Good Hope and good friends as the story ends. I cannot wait to return to Good Hope in Cindy's next visit to Good Hope.

Fabulous book which I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

I don’t really know how I feel about this story. I guess it was just kind of boring and predictable. I did not like the characters. Usually I can’t put a book down and read it fast, but this one I found myself only reading when I literally had nothing else to do. It’s not the worse book I’ve read but it’s far from the best, I did not care for the ending.

At 2:38am, I turned the final page on another emotionally satisfying trip to one of my favorite fictional small towns: Cindy Kirk's Good Hope. I hadn't planned to stay up half the night. I had tried to go to bed at 11:00 but, clearly, David, Hadley, and Brynn had other plans. ;-) I've read all of the books in this contemporary romance series and have become emotionally invested in many of the characters, including David and Hadley. I've been waiting to see where the author would take them when it was finally time for their story to be told.

A successful architect and divorced, single-dad, David Chapin is doing his level best to ensure his nine-year-old daughter, Brynn is happy and secure, especially after the recent emotional upheavals in her life. When one more unexpected change - the marriage and departure of Brynn's live-in nanny - occurs, David is left floundering with no solution in sight for the month left before school begins again until, suddenly, the solution is standing right in front of him.

Hadley Newhouse moved to Good Hope three years ago and has carved out a place for herself in the community. Working at Ami Bloom's bakery, Hadley has become good friends with all four of the Bloom sisters. She's had a front row seat for viewing the crumbling of David Chapin's marriage and the impact it's had on both David and Brynn, the adorable child who, unknowingly, reaches in and squeezes Hadley's heart each time they meet. When the bakery closes for renovations, leaving Hadley at loose ends for a couple months, David steps in and asks her to be Brynn's temporary nanny. It's a dream come true and, gradually, their casual friendship begins to deepen into something more serious...more lasting. But David is wary of opening his heart to another woman after his ex stomped all over it and Hadley...well, as much as she's grown to love both David and Brynn, Hadley is keeping secrets that could turn that heart to stone.

I thoroughly enjoyed David and Hadley's story (hence, the half-night reading marathon) and the opportunity to catch up with other couples from Kirk's Good Hope series. Each time I pick up a new Good Hope book I feel like I'm returning home for a visit with good friends. I've always liked both David and Hadley and have been intrigued by the hints Kirk has dropped about them in earlier books. I expected their journey to be emotional but Kirk took the story in directions I hadn't anticipated, making it an even better, more complex, reading experience.

This is the sixth book in the Good Hope series and will stand on its own but these characters - primary and secondary - continue to evolve throughout the series. For my money, starting at the beginning will give you a deeper understanding of the many threads that weave throughout and a much richer reading experience.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.

I’ve recently discovered Cindy Kirk through her Good Hope series. I typically read non-fiction and mysteries, and am not a romance novel reader. But given that the world we are living in seems to be harsher of late, I have been seeking out lighter fare that is sweeter and more innocent to mix in with my usual reading list.
Living in the Northern Plains not too far from the small town Wisconsin setting, I enjoy Ms Kirk’s characters and their individual quirkiness.

This most recent installment in the Good Hope series focuses on Hadley Newhouse, the second-in-command to Ami (Bloom) Cross at Bloom’s Bake Shop. Throughout the series, we’ve seen Hadley as an extra or supporting character who is not comfortable sharing anything about her life prior to coming to Good Hope a couple of years earlier. We are ok with this, and like what we know of her, since she is reliable and such a support to Ami through the previous books.

I don’t want to include any spoilers for those following the series except to say that Ms Kirk explores some darker themes in this book. I appreciated her addressing these and it seems timely with everything that has been front and center in the news today. Hadley has a past and when she falls for the local attractive single father and his little girl, Hadley’s inner conflict begins. If her secret comes out, will her friends, the Blooms still accept her? Will the man she loves understand what she’s been through and forgive her past? Needless to say in true Good Hope fashion, there is redemption and the type of ending we’ve come to expect in past stories.

One thing that did surprise me, was that this novel had a rather explicit sexual encounter – much more so than in the other Good Hope books. I’m not a prude and the context in which it was handled was right on; however, if I was looking for something like this, I’d be reading all those other “bodice ripping” novels. This isn’t why I was reading the Good Hope books. Like I indicated, I am looking for lighter fare that’s sweet and innocent (and difficult to find nowadays).

Overall, it’s a good read – sweet (but not so innocent) - and many people may be glad she escalated the details. I’ll give her next book a chance, but it may not be for me down the road.

Hadley Newhouse has had a small but, significant role in each of the Good Hope novels. Hadley started working at Ami Bloom’s bakery in Christmas At Good Hope and she has assumed more responsibility at Blooms Bake shop with the birth of Ami’s baby. Cindy Kirk has sprinkled hints about Hadley in each book—the last two books contained BIG hints— I can honestly say this story was well worth the wait! I LOVED it!
Hadley volunteers at all of the town’s activities and is a well-liked member of the community. She works two jobs to support herself and lives above the bakery. Hadley doesn’t share a lot about her family or her past—just the basics. Two things about Hadley have intrigued me: her past and her interest in Brynn Chapin and her father David. Brynn adores Hadley and it didn’t surprise me when David offered Hadley a job as Brynn’s nanny while the bakery was being remodeled.
Hadley reveals to David that she is Brynn’s natural mother but, that’s not the only well-kept secret in the novel. David and his ex-wife Whitney were not honest during the adoption process. After DNA tests confirm that Hadley is Brynn’s mother, David reveals that his wife omitted an importance piece of medical history during the adoption process. This story technique worked as both characters needed to come to terms with the others actions and forgive each other before they could move forward. Where these decisions made in Brynn’s best interest?
I loved the very emotional scene when Hadley confesses that she is Brynn’s mother to the Bloom sisters. Each sister reacted differently to the news and Fin gave Hadley an important piece of advice. David’s mother, Lynn, does not react well to the news and believes Hadley is taking advantage of the situation.
Marry Me in Good Hope has all of the small town charm and warmth that I adore in this series. Both characters had secrets and they worked together to build an honest relationship. The chemistry between David and Hadley was off the charts and the couple’s sensuous romantic scenes were perfect! Cindy Kirk includes several tough issues in this novel; adoption, DNA testing, abuse and inherited medical conditions. She weaves these elements through the novel—and they add depth and authenticity to the story. Hadley and David’s journey toward happiness wasn’t easy but it ended PERFECTLY!

A heartwarming story about secrets and how when we share them we can fly!!

This is Hadley's and David's story.

Hadley is a character that's played a secondary role since the beginning of this series. And we never got to knep to many details about her. She had secrets!! She moved to Good Hope out of the blue, knew nobody but started working for Ami at the bakery.

David Chapin is an architect, married to Whitney and have a young daughter Brynn. In the first 5 books, we see David struggle in his marriage and finally get divorced.

I'd call this a forced proximity romance because, when Ami and Beck decide to do a major reno on the bakery, Hadley has to move out. And where does she go... to David's to be his temporary nanny for Brynn.

And it's there together that as they start to fall for each other that they both come clean. Cuz David has secrets too!! And they're doozies!!

I won't spoil it but will say that keeping secrets can be hard. It can ruin relationships or when shared help deepen them! In this case, while the secrets that were kept were big ones, they found a way to work thru them and come out in the end "flying."

I liked how the author added in a fun element of the older character Gladys giving Hadley a prediction and in the end she tied it in that it came true!! 😀

It's a heartwarming story. There's one scene to watch for. But no crude language or violence, although there was talk of some, when Hadley was sharing her past.

There was no editing issues I ran across, or formatting issues.

I enjoyed this story. I liked how she approached the subject of secrets in relationships. She did a good job of presenting a good way to deal with it.

Definitely worth reading!! 📚

While I have enjoyed all of the books in the Good Hope series, I think that this was one of my favorites. I have said it before. I would love to live in this town. Being a baker, I was salivating at the descriptions of the wonderful creations that Hadley and Ami created. I wonder if they need an assistant?...........Just saying.

This book has some interesting twists and turns which I shall not reveal, but once again deals with some difficult subject matter and with broken people finding themselves and rebuilding their lives again.

The basic plot- Hadley Newhouse is second-in-command to Ami at the bake shop in Good Hope. She overhears David Chapin, a local architect, tell his mother that he is suddenly in need of a nanny for his daughter, Brynn. Hadley is working two jobs to make ends meet while living over the bakery. Circumstances ensue that find Hadley less one job and in need of a place to stay, so she assumes the role of caregiver for Brynn, while living in the home with David. Sparks fly, and attraction ensues, as we expect it will, followed by the aforementioned twists and turns! It was great fun to read.

I am not sure exactly why I favored this book even more so than the others. I do enjoy stories of redemption and stories of people pulling themselves out of dark places to find their HEA. Perhaps this was part of the attraction. I do know that I could not put the book down!

Once again we are transported to Good Hope and finding new stories among the townspeople. I received an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest and fair review. Hadley Newhouse is a character fans of Good Hope met way back when we first were introduced to the Bloom sisters. Her past is unknown, but she is a kind heart to David Chapin and his daughter. In Marry Me in Good Hope, readers are finally given a chance to figure out the mystery behind Hadley- where did she come from, what really is her history, and will she and David Chapin ever end up together?

As with all the Good Hope books, I definitely enjoyed being back in the little Midwestern town. With each installment it's as if I am being welcomed back home as well. The nice thing that Cindy Kirk is able to do within the world of Good Hope is with each book flesh out secondary characters enough that we truly care about their lot in life. Then, as she devotes a new book to one of those side characters, like with Hadley and David, it doesn't feel shallow and it's always easy to get into the book. The pacing was a little slow in places and I was still left with some lingering questions about Hadley's life before Good Hope. The mention of family and situations before her move to Good Hope were sometimes mentioned and dropped and left me wondering if, at one point, was that thread of a story supposed to be a part and got cut? Overall, and in general, I am always happy to visit with old friends and new when reading books about the lovely little town of Good Hope.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.

I again enjoyed visiting the quaint and perfect town of Good Hope, and I found the characters of Hadley and David to be quite likeable. David is a devoted single dad, and Hadley works at several jobs to support herself. Not one for keeping secrets myself, I sometimes have a hard time understanding why the residents of Good Hope keep so many secrets when it is obvious to the reader that the characters would be better off with those secrets out in the open. Both of these main characters, per usual, have secrets, and in this installment of the Good Hope series, I finally found myself understanding why the characters kept those secrets. I also like how Ms. Kirk kept some things open at the end of this book so as to keep me wanting to know what happens next.

One of the slight issues in the book that I found distracting was how perfect Brynn, David's daughter, is for a child who has been through several traumatic experiences. She never acts out, and rarely even seems affected by the issues the adults reference frequently. Aside from this and the perfect predictability of life in this small town, I found Marry Me in Good Hope to be a fun, quick, and enjoyable read, as is to be expected from Ms. Kirk!

Hadley has had a crush on David since she's come to town. She has a past & a secret that could cause him to hate her though so she tried to keep her distance. The perfect storm of events conspires to put her directly in his path though. His nanny has eloped so he needs someone to watch his daughter. It's always been a live in position. The bakery where Hadley has been working is going to be closed for the summer for extensive repairs. The apartment where she lives is upstairs from the bakery so not only is she without the job, she's without a place to live. When David asks her to be his daughter's nanny, it sounds like it's the answer to a prayer. So why is she hesitating? Why does it seem like David is paying her more attention than he did the old nanny?

This was an excellent emotional read. The characters are well defined & three dimensional. The author's writing style has the reader feeling the same emotions the characters feel. The intensity of the relationship between Hadley & David comes through perfectly. The interactions between them & those between David's daughter & Hadley add an unexpected dimension to the story. The intrigue of their secrets & Hadley's past adds another layer to the plot. This was a great addition to Ms. Kirk's Good Hope series but can easily be read as a stand alone.

Marry Me in Good Hope by Cindy Kirk is the story of Hadley and how even bad decisions can turn into blessings in the end. When Hadley moved to Good Hope, she brought a suitcase full of secrets. Luckily, she met the Bloom sisters and was offered a job at Ami's bakery. After Hadley adjusts to Good Hope, she begins volunteering and working two jobs. While she is working at the bakery, she overhears David talking to his mother that his wife had left and now the live-in nanny has gotten married. Luckily, the Bloom sisters and their husbands intercede on her behalf and mention to David that she would be the perfect nanny for David's daughter, Brynn, while Bloom's Bake Shop is closed for renovations. As Brynn spends more time with David and Brynn, she begins to have feelings for David. She wants to keep the employer/employee relationship; however, soon, David begins to have feelings for Hadley as well. Unfortunately, the secrets that Hadley and David are keeping could tear them apart. What are those secrets? And, will love withstand the unveiling of those secrets?

Cindy Kirk has done it again. Marry Me in Good Hope is as great as the other five Good Hope stories. I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the publisher and am providing an unbiased voluntary review of Marry Me in Good Hope.

" I received an Advanced reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it"

I fell in love in love with the Bloom Sisters when I started reading these books and didn't know where else Ms Kirk could go with this series. That being said I loved her previous book Say I Do in Good Hope and knew that I would love this book as well. I wasn't wrong!

Hadley & David have always been background characters in the previous books so it was lovely to finally have them front and centre. As I began getting further into the book, I knew where the story line was going to go. Despite this, I loved discovering how Ms Kirk was going to take me there and how it would end.

Fans of the Bloom Sisters fear not! The girls all make appearances throughout the story. How could they not as Hadley is Ami's best friend and second in charge at the Bake Shop. The Bloom Sisters stories all continue throughout this book but definitely centres on Hadley and David's story.

Marry Me in Good Hope is a great read if you've read the previous five Good Hope books and will definitely not leave you disappointed! Highly recommend especially if you love books that you don't have to concentrate too hard on and love an easy read.

Thanks Cindy Kirk for another fantastic book!

I have read the first five books in the Good Hope Series. Christmas in Good Hope, Summer in Good Hope, Be Mine in Good Hope, Forever in Good Hope, and Say I Do in Good Hope. I love the characters and town.

This book details the relationship between Hadley Newhouse and David Chapin. We knew there was more to Hadley’s story, we just had to wait to find out what it was. Ami is doing a renovation on the bakery, which will leave Hadley without a place to stay. So she accept David’s job offer to be Brynn’s temporary live in Nanny. Brynn has taken a liking to Hadley for quite some time now. Partly because she misses her mother who doesn’t come around often, and because Hadley is kind to her and can bake.

David and Hadley are both well liked in the town. They both love Brynn very much. But both of them have kept secrets from the people they love.

The book is well written. I really felt for Hadley, David, and Brynn. It was so easy to feel sorry for them. This book did not disappoint. I already liked the surrounding characters in the book, and catching up with the Bloom sisters. I am looking forward to more stories from the Town of Good Hope.

“I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.”

I have really enjoyed all Cindy Kirk's novels about Good Hope and it feels like catching up with the family when a new book comes out. This book is like a cosy jumper and it wraps the reader up in warm feelings.

We have met Hadley before as part of the Bloom sisters friends, she works in the Bloom's Bake Shop belonging to Ami Bloom and is part of their extended family. Hadley has always watched David Chapin from afar and when his marriage broke down and he became a sexy single father she was interested in him and his lovely daughter.

Hadley has been an enigmatic figure and no one knows much about her background and how she ended up in Good Hope. When the Bake Shop is closed temporarily David offers her a short term job as his daughter Brynn's nanny. Hadley moves in with David and Brynn and you can see that she adores the little girl. She starts to dream of happy ever after but will her dark secret get in the way of this.

A great read and I can't wait for the next instalment of the Good Hope series.

Once again, Cindy Kirk has transported her readers to the wonderful, caring town of Good Hope and set us down in the beginning of another touch and go romance between characters we can root for. In her sixth book about the residents of Good Hope, especially the Bloom family, she tells Hadley's story. Hadley has been working in Amy's Blooms Bake Shop. Although she has become a trusted employee and friend to the Bloom sisters, we discover that she has been holding back information about her past. When Amy decides to renovate her bakery, Hadley temporarily loses her apartment above the shop and her job. Taking over as a temporary nanny for Brynne, daughter of single parent, David Chapin, a local architect, for the summer takes Hadley and David on a roller coaster ride of events and emotions that keeps the reader yearning to know what is going to happen next. Cindy Kirk has kept her writing fresh with each character's back-story and journey to love . This is a five-star read as are all the books in this series. I am fortunate to have received an advanced copy from the publisher and am happy to voluntarily review it.

I so wanted to love this book, but it was just a like, not a love.

Hadley was strong even though she considered herself weak. She was strong for her unborn baby ... she was strong for herself. She removed herself from what could have been a very unhealthy situation and made sure she made good choices, after having made a really bad choice.

David was the strong stable person that Hadley needed to help her believe that everyone has the chance at "happily ever after" ... sometimes that means different things to different people. Each person has to decide what their happy is going to be.

Hadley's relationship with Brynn was wonderful. I enjoyed seeing their connection and how Hadley understood how to communicate and give Brynn the attention she needed from a mother figure.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and, of course, anytime I can get an update on the Bloom sisters and their families I am going to jump into the book with both feet.

Thank you for giving us Hadley's story ... I often wondered about what secrets she held on to so tightly.

A wonderful addition to the Good hope series. Since book one I have been fascinated by Hadley and her obvious keeping a secret from Ami and her other friends in Good hope. I too notice the connection with her and David and his daughter Brynn and was so glad that she finally received her own story. Ami has started construction of her bakery and Hadley will be temporary out of a job and home(since she leaves above the store). It so happens David's nanny runs off and get married and now he is stranded without a nanny. He finds out Hadley needs a temporary job till the bakery opens and asks her to be the nanny since she is already familiar with his daughter. Sparks fly very quickly with both David and Hadley very quickly and she is torn about pursing it and also being cautious as with some of this title there is a secret that Hadley is keeping from David and his friends that could cause them to turn their back will she speak of her secret/s before its too late? It was a pleasure to see the four bloom sisters with their growing family of husbands and children and to be welcome back to this community with their many activities of small town.

Once again I find myself back in Good Hope. These books read like a great Hallmark movie. Great characters and fun plot twists.
Marry Me in Good Hope follows Hadley and David Chapin. Hadley has been in all of the other books, but always in the background. Now we get to find out why she really came to Good Hope. The same can said about David and Brynn. It is nice to see more about their family life and see how they grow. And of course we get to learn more about Whitney, which was eye opening and enjoyable.
This book had more then one twist floating around in it. I liked each one and was able to look back and see the foreshadowing, but in a good way.
I really enjoyed this book and getting to know more characters in Good Hope. I love that the Bloom sisters and were in this book a lot. I love Ami and since her and Hadley are so close it she plays a larger roll. I also love to see Ami grow as a mother in this book. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.

I received and Advanced Reader Copy of Marry Me in Good Hope from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.

I absolutely love Cindy Kirk's series in Good Hope. I love the Bloom Family, but Hadley and David's story has been one of my favorites. Cindy never disappoints in her storytelling. This is a story of the love of a child and what a mother will do to make sure that her child is safe and happy. How strong a mother can be to do what she thinks is best for her child. Not only the love of a mother, but the love of a father and how he would do anything to protect his little girl. He will also put his own feelings aside to keep her safe and happy.

Cindy's story is about everyday people and how they manage life struggles with their friends and family. In her story sometimes bad things happen, but they get through it and it makes them stronger for it. Situations makes you look at people in a different light. As always, love conquers all and we have our happily ever after.

Cindy Kirk has created the small town of Good Hope that is so realistic that I would love to live there. This is the 6th book in the series but also a stand alone. Marry Me in Good Hope is about finding peace with past decisions and finding happiness in the present. Hadley has been a standoffish person since she came to Good Hope because she is afraid her secrets will cause her new friends to hate her. David is a divorced dad raising his adopted daughter and just trying to make sure that his daughter is happy. When Brynn's nanny doesn't return from her vacation because she got married, David hires Hadley to be her temporary nanny. The underlying attraction grows and the three of them start become a family unit but Hadley reveals her secret which threatens to destroy their happiness. This is a great story filled with many twists, turns and secrets along with an amazing love story.

I received this ARC from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.

“I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher for my unbiased opinion of the book. This book is a return to Good Hope which I thoroughly enjoyed. It focuses on Hadley and David. Hadley works for Bloom Bake Shop and is a friend of the Bloom family. David is an architect and his mother Linda is currently dating David Bloom the patriarch of that family. When the bake shop needs to be closed due to renovations, David offers Hadley to watch his daughter and a place to stay. Since he is out a nanny due to her getting married. David is still getting over his ex who treated him and their adopted daughter as an accessory, not husband and daughter. When she moves into a spare bedroom while caring for his daughter the sparks fly! She has a well-kept secret that she is guarding with her life. She realizes that keeping secrets is more trouble than telling the truth because it will set you free. Another wonderful love story set in Good Hope!!!

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I love this series so much! I’m always sad when I finish the next book. In this book, we finally learn the details of Hadley’s story. She’s a secondary character that we get to know in the previous Bloom Sisters’ romance stories. She works in Ami’s pastry shop and has a bit of mystery to her in the series. We don’t know much about where Hadley came from or her back story. And she seems to have a strong emotional attachment to a man who lives in town and his daughter. In this book, we find out all of the answers to these questions. I loved Hadley’s story. She has become a central, favorite character for me after this book. I had a feeling I knew where the ending was headed but it was quite a shock near the beginning of the book when a clue was dropped and I thought “what if”... I won’t say more as I’ll spoil the book for you. But this is a lovely story! Can’t wait for the next book!

Attraction and sparks fly

Hadley has a secret, actually more than one. She's been living in Good Hope for a few years now, she hasn't even told her best friend Ami. When she can to town she tried to keep everyone at a distance but Ami wouldn't have it, she could tell Hadley needed some friends. Ami has decided to make some major renovations to her business, where Hadley works and lives above the shop. Now Hadley needs a place to stay during this renovation and a way to make some income.

David is finally divorced, Whitney and him had stopped connecting years ago. Now he has been concentrating on his daughter and work. His daughter is the bright point in his life but he has started to realize he needs more. His nanny throws him a curve ball, she got married while on vacation and is not coming back. He needs a new nanny or at least someone to help him for the rest of the summer.

Can David learn to open up? Will Hadley tell her big secret?

I just finished Marry Me in Good Hope and truly loved it. I really love Cindy's characters – they are real people with real depth, emotions, baggage, just everything. It became so clear to me with this book how early in this series she must have mapped out everything – how all of the characters would ultimately be interconnected. This series is more than just a series of books with random citizens of Good Hope taking the limelight in each new edition – this series is a collection of interwoven lives. Along with David and the other citizen’s of Good Hope, we’ve all gotten to know and love Hadley gradually, so we’re all a bit shocked about the big revelation, but we’re more accepting because we already know what kind of person she is - a sweet, wonderful woman. Well done, Ms. Kirk.

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
