Freddie Davies's biography reads about all the ups and downs of the crazy world that is show business. One minute you are achieving spectacular success craved by an adoring public; the next you are struggling to find the next booking. Freddie has seen and done it all - Butlins "Redcoat", stand up comedian, actor, film star, writer, producer, agent, pub landlord, cruise ship entertainments director.
Recently he gave a fascinating and informative talk at the Northern Magic Circle Summit on stagecraft and he is very well qualified to speak on this topic and give the benefit of years of experience. There is a lot more to Freddie than "Parrotface" the funny character that appeared on "Opportunity Knocks" in 1964 and propelled him along to an ongoing career in show business.

I usually find these sort entertainment books brief, this had a good solid background before going Into Freddie's life.you get the impression he does not suffer fools gladly which has held him in good stead in this profession of dog eats dog,or in his case budgie eats budgie.
