Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome (or Tourette's Syndrome), is an inherited neuropsychiatric disorder affecting about 5 people in every 10,000. It is characterized by motor and vocal tics, and upsetting anti-social behavior such as involuntary swearing and obscene gestures. This book, written by a psychologist and a psychiatrist who have been researching Tourette's Syndrome for many years, explains the causes of the syndrome, how it is diagnosed, and the ways in which it can be treated. Essential reading for Tourette's sufferers, their relatives and friends, Tourette's The Facts will also be of use to clinicians, family physicians, schoolteachers, and anyone seeking an accessible introduction to the disorder.
Became a little repetitive and lacked detail, but it's only suppose to be a quick overview with links to where to get help anyway. Worth reading if you have an interest in the subject or think you may be effected in some way.
All my life I have been a defender of the bullied and I often sought written documentation that the "differences" exhibited by those I defended had medical or other reasons. I would have welcomed this book back then.
