Absolutely love this book. This is the type of information I look for when it comes to the exploration of a film and this book certainly provided it very well and helped me garner a greater appreciation for the actress Joan Crawford

Not quite done with this book...my version does not include anything about #Trog, which was Miss Crawford's last full scope motion picture. As unintentionally hilarious as this film may appear, it has taken on a life of it's own. This is certainly a tribute to the ability of Joan Crawford, who would take anything & place her imprint on any part that she played. She tried to protect Trog, from the point of view offered from a humanitarian perspective.

As for the edition that I am nearing completion, it is amazing how many films that she made with William Haines, Clark Gable, Robert Montgomery...

In the brief biography that starts the 1968 edition of this book: "Joan Crawford is a typically American film star. She is American in that she projects enterprise, resiliency, & drive in her performances. She is also American in that she hangs on to her gains..."

The book reviews each of her films, understanding that she made the transition from Silent Era Films to Sound Motion Pictures by learning her craft & applied the fine tuning that a true artist with ambition will do with each & every experience. I am grateful that I kept this book as a guide to seeing some of her lesser known (21st Century perspective) films & hope to find these available for viewing in some format. It would be splendid if the Irving Theater, Indianapolis, would host a week long tribute to her career. The challenge would be in selecting the best films to represent the many years of film acting that she had. The other challenge would be to develop an audience base who would be able to sit up & take notice & appreciate her contributions to film acting. Certainly this book does that.
