DNF at 49%.
I read till 37% and found the narrative choppy, sentences that didn't make much sense, and the dialogues sounded un-natural. The 14 year old kid sounded like every other adult around him. There was more telling than showing, which is annoying for a reader. The chemistry between our MC's was forced.
I started skim reading from there on and still found other editing issues. The book needed a better line editor-if it even got one to work on it-and copyeditor and proofreader.

Okay read. Sweet characters for main and secondary. Dialogue at times, choppy and hard to figure out who was talking. Minor editing issues like wrong name used.
Foreplay once prior to marriage - heat level 3 out of 5. Little on drama or suspense.
No cheating by main couple but off page by secondary character years ago. No cliffhanger, HEA, some romance, ended at the 95% on my e-reader. Ending felt abrupt, the H decides to leave town the next day with no thought who was going to take care of his animals.
I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. (ljb)

Enjoyed reading this,story. Kelly needed a,change of jobs and scenery. Sam was, a very easy going boss. Ethan was a,good kid and Kelly had done a,great job of raising him. Jake was,a great guy and fell hard for Kelly and bonded quickly with Ethan. Everybody in the small city were welcoming and verysupporting of each other. Gave this,book 5 stars

They are both in for a big surprise.

Kelly feels her life slipping away as a Single MOM raising teenage Ethan. She finds an add for a job in a hardware store that fits everything to start over in a new town, Peakview, Colorado.
Not only does she find a new job and a new town but also a new man in her life, Jake.

Great to see a love story for the over 30 set!
I loved Jake and Kelly's story. It is so refreshing to read a story about love in the over 30 age group. Love finds its time and knows no age barriers. I love how Ms. Haymaker finds the story of older love worth putting to paper. I can't wait to read more.Enjoy!

Life changes make sure to keep you alive, good or bad.
Desperate change call for leaps of faith, good or bad. Your life is going to hit you and force facing decisions that may work or not. This novel pulls it altogether and you feel like you are there. I enjoyed the people and the reading was very enjoyable.

There's only about 100 people in town, but they need an ambulance crew stationed there? I can't see there being that much need.
Other than that, I guess it was a nice enough story, not an awful lot happening, and it was weird throwing in just one chapter written from Ethans' perspective.
Also I was pretty judgy Mcjudgepants about Jake not getting his cats fixed before they started breeding.

I really enjoyed the characters and setting. The romance between the first responder/cowboy and the single mum seeking a better life for herself and her son worked well. The small town life and contrast between Kelly's old life and her new one was engaging. I enjoyed the will he/won't he sense about her teenage son's decisions towards the end of the story.

Very familiar
This book was so much like an earlier one. The ending was different but the book on a whole seemed like Parts where a repeat. Guess I am really liking Peakview. A warm, familiar town.

Another wonderful story in this series.
Jill Haymaker writes stories that are well developed and easy to like.Her characters are believable and interesting. I would recommend them to anyone who likes romance, friends and family.

Wonderful book
This is a very pleasant and endearing romance about a mom with a teenage son relocating and finding love after getting off to a rocky start. Jake, who's never been a dad turns out to become the best dad that a teenage boy could want or need.

A fun read
When you need a little make believe and happy this is the perfect book. The thought of the story and the beautiful scenery and small town camaraderie are just with the doctor ordered in this chaotic world.

I liked this story of a woman who moved herself and her teenage son to a new state to start over after her divorce. Her new job is less hours, more money and she likes the people and the town. But her son is not so sure he wants to stay. Can she convince him to give it a chance?

The entire series is great. I read the books in order of release, however if you don’t you won’t be lost if read out of order. I would recommend this series, nice clean story line. Read them, you will enjoy Peakview.
