Diving into the Turn
Diving Into The Turn is set in the fast-paced Texas rodeo world. Riding bulls in the rodeo is the only life Shelby Fisher has ever known. She thinks she's perfectly happy in her world of one night stands until she goes to a rodeo/fair and meets spoiled barrel racer Rebecca Starrett. Suddenly, Shelby's life feels emptier, and she can't figure out why. The two women take an instant dislike to each other, but there's something about Rebecca that draws the silent and angry bull rider to her. It's not long before Rebecca's overtures pays off, and a grudging friendship occurs. Against a backdrop of mysterious accidents that are happening at the rodeo grounds, the women's friendship develops into something more. But when Shelby is implicated as the culprit to what's been happening will Rebecca stand by her side?

Carrie loves to geocache, as well as volunteer her time with a local animal shelter and rescue group. While she enjoys traveling, she likes to spend most of her time at home with her wife and dogs.
She has written ten books in the Somerville series, and has revised and rereleased them as an independent writer.
Carrie has also written four stand-alone romances and has several more planned.

As is always my first thought after reading a Carrie Carr book - where's the next book? Or, damn I finished this too fast, I hope this turns into a series.
I girst got introduced to Shelby and Rebecca in one of the books in the Somerville series; Lex and Amanda are huge favorites of mine so I thought Shelby and Amanda's story would pale in comparison, but I was gladly mistaken. I loved how as a reader I got sucked into their struggles and can't help but root for them. I hope there's more of their story in the works.

I really enjoyed this book. We first meet Shelby and Rebecca in the authors Somerville series books 8 and 9.
This book takes us back to when Shelby and Rebecca first meet at the rodeo. I must admit, I enjoyed the second half of the book more than the first. Great characters including secondary, good pace, well written.

This book was a bit of a disappointment. Frankly the characters were stale and unsympathetic, the villains were overdone, and everyone took themselves too seriously.
Shelby is a bull rider in the small-time rodeo circuit, and isn't particularly good at her job or life. Still in the game more out of habit than love, she has a poor reputation on the circuit for both being both unpleasant and womanising. Rebecca is a novice barrel racer inexplicably - and I really do mean inexplicably - drawn to said Shelby. What follows is somehow boring and irritating all at once. Shelby is a dickhead, and Rebecca is foolish; the supporting characters have so little depth you could roll them up at the end of each scene and post them in the mail. The novel meanders, following our heroes as they start many things, and never finish anything.
The book isn't badly written or poorly edited. Its premise should provide drama and action aplenty. It simply doesn't deliver, falling flat in the truest sense. For the $10 eBook price tag, one could do much better.

Carrie L. Carr is a master storyteller. There are lots of plot twists, moments of suspense, and a lovely romance. Her characters are well defined, so you feel like you know them personally. Lots of details about cowgirls and rodeos, which was really interesting. I got in trouble with my family because I didn't put the book down for two days!

A rodeo that changes everything for two women.
Rebecca and Shelby literally run into each other at a rodeo. It was a spark that neither thought was real. I loved the individual growth each did to reach the relationship they could build on. One must face her sexuality and the other must open her heart to trust. Both must learn to depend on each other as family. What a story about coming to grips with who you are and what you want in life. The rodeo world is not an easy road but love of horses take you many place. A great new story from Carrie L. Carr, bravo.

Sweet
Sometimes in life you experience the unexpected and realize it's actually better than anything you thought would happen. This author has a way of making the characters in the story feel like someone you've known for a long time. She also kept things interesting... I really didn't know how she could pull the whole story into an HEA but she managed to bring it all together into a very satisfying conclusion. Great job!

Good book
It's true that opposite attract. First Becca was just wanting to be friends with Shelby. But the more that Shelby keep flirting with her the more Becca question herself. Shelby just wanting to be alone but not really deep down she really wanted someone to love her. A coming out and feeling worthy. A lovely story

Shallow
I couldn't finish the book due to the simplicity. Sex, no communication and more sex. Very disappointed as the author has written other books that were good.

Interesting story

I grew up in Texas and my parents had me on horseback riding by myself before I was 4. We went to playdays every weekend. Most people don’t even know what they are, so it was great to read a story with that tidbit included.
Was a well written story and I enjoyed getting to know the characters and watching the story unfold.

Another good one.
I reAlly loved this one. I loved the storyline and characters. I really wish there was more of the story. I felt like it just ended out of the blue. To many questions left.
