More than Words: A collection of paintings and reflections
Hannah Dunnett's beautiful artwork, interweaving Bible verses and images, has inspired many people. From sailing boats bobbing on the river and lighthouses standing tall, to majestic trees and soaring mountains, to welcoming cottages and cosy kitchens, Hannah paints pictures that help us understand scripture and reflect on God's word in a fresh way. In this book, Hannah has chosen twenty-four of her favourite pictures and tells the story behind each one. As she draws out key verses and their meaning and offers questions to reflect on, readers will gain new insight and understanding. This collection of beloved artwork is divided into four The Wondrous Cross, Father God, Teach me Your Ways, and Let Your Light Shine, and will take individual readers, or small groups, on a journey further towards the heart of God.

A book of paintings incorporating Bible verses and hymns, together with short devotions. The paintings have an interesting and attractive style and draw you in to read and think about the words of the Bible verses and hymns.
I wish that some of the pictures were more complete - occasionally they miss out verses in the psalm or passage (eg Psalm 91: 7-8). But despite this, this is still a beautiful and helpful book.

A lovely book to do as a daily devotional, meditating on scripture with different themes, and some lovely artwork in line with those themes.

It is said that ‘a picture paints a thousand words’. Hannah Dunnett literally does paint words. In her book ‘More than Words’, she uses words from the Bible or from hymns to help us reflect on our life and relationship with God.
This is a book which can help us ‘tune in’ to the still, small voice of God, to whisper His truth into our hearts, whether from a Psalm or a well-loved hymn.
I would recommend this book as something which can be used as a more reflective way of discovering that, when God speaks to us, they are more than words – they are life and health and peace for us.
