Alice's mother is a tightrope walker, and her father is a clown. Her uncles and aunts and grandparents are are in the troupe, too. Together with their animals, tents, and supplies they live and eat and perform from town to town. The paintings are colorful and energetic, and bring little readers to the excitement of circus life. Then the author brings the readers through the quieter day to day communal and family life of those in the circus. My 3 year likes this book, and I understand why. I do too.
