When Lee bumps into A.J as she’s running from a group of gangsters, he’s instantly smitten. But that’s because he doesn’t know a few things about her. One; she just got out of jail. Two; they’ve met before. And three; she knows things about him. Things he probably doesn’t want to remember.Though A.J insists that she’s not interested in Lee, she can’t ignore the desire that he stirs with his hungry gaze. Her brain tells her that a relationship between them would only lead to disaster, but her heart is speaking an entirely different language. It wants Lee. It wants Lee badly. But can she handle the consequences of having him? Will her past and his secrets be their undoing?
So this is book 2 in this series and it was cute. A little bit surreal but overall cute. Again, this series is touching very close to home for me regarding their stint in prison and I have several issues with how almost no research was done regarding this aspect but also how unromantic this was really. Few quips: 1) how come she left prison and not once was she given a parole officer or at least explained why not? 2) she went in for hit an run and last I check, the person died and still she has no repercussions except her little stint in prison, impossible? Now I am a sucker for strong female bit more for romance than anything and this book was lacking big time. There was no wooing (only a little bit) and how unreal is it that after all these years, Lee and Amara was to not only see each other, be in the same city and so close (Amara having a store across from Lee's farther) how unreal, far fetched and destiny, it seems. So yeah, missing a lot but, hey, again I am very sentimental regarding this situation that those ladies found themselves in. Now I have not said it on the first book, but so far my favorite character is getting really close to be Sin, I hope I will not be disappointed... How about Ten and Fabian, who knows they might worked out!!!
First off let me say this was one book every person needs to read period... Secondly this touched me on a really deep level than book one. You can't help but love AJ...I so forgot about AJ being a crook that I became more focus on Lee and his nightmares.. I was like dang this is too books in one. This book was so heart touching and a big tear jerker, all wrapped up on one.. I truly recommend this book to anyone that can or cannot relate to these subjects. Love Love this book and the author Linda Verji for this compelling story keep up the great work and keep it coming with more great stories like this one.
AJ and Lee's story was so good. He embraced her, regardless of her past, and accepted her for who she was now. AJ could take care of herself, but it was good that she let Lee in. I loved how they were very protected of each other. Then, to learn how they connected in childhood was stunning. Fate brought them together, because it was time for them both to receive the true love that they needed. Hopefully, the new development will spur AJ to be more opened with her friends and to form a better relationship with her sister Ten. I recommend this story.
This was such an enjoyable experience from the beginning to the very end.I love the way that Lee just overtakes A j and romances her,for all he's worth. The chemistry from the two main characters just leaps from the pages. This was good solid writing, the only thing I would have liked is a little more interaction between the friends.
Casper is a heartless man and to add insult to injury out the blame on Amara for his mistake. I couldn't have him for a father. Lee sense he know Amara from somewhere but don't know where. Their story is so captivating, it draws you in. Dialogue is out of this world 🌎. Very creative and awesome characters.
I love this series! I fell in love with AJ and Lee. It was so exciting and sweet. AJ is a bad chick! I loved that about her. And sweet Lee! So devoted. I really liked these two. I'm ready for Sin now!
I enjoyed this book! Aj and Lee were adorable. I have to admit, I got tired of how long it took to know Lee’s secret. But, other than that, it was good. Lee was hilarious. He had me smiling the whole time.
I loved all the excitement and drama in this book. I wasn't able to guess what the secret was. Which is a good thing, cause most plots are way to easy . Looking forward to Sin's story. (Let a bad girl be bad). And what about Ten? She needs a hea to
I loved Lee and A. J.! As different as they are, he is the right man for her. Although he was so annoying in the beginning and got on my nerves, he is a sweetheart. He’s the yin to A. J.’s yang!
This was a good book. I can't wait for the 3rd. AJ and Lee deserved a happy ending. I hope AJ and Ten can develop some sort of relationship. I won't spoil this for anyone but there is a HEA and it's a sweet read.
Lee can't fight the magnetic pull that sends him colliding with the fierce, acrobatic, petite woman that can spa with the best MMA fighters! Their past & future are tangled in a web of love, that forces want to break! Love still conquers all !!
The whole super fighter thing was corny. I was never able to buy into that aspect of AJ. Also the whole secret past was not plotted out well. It felt like a weird addition to the story.
This was better than the first book IMO. I loved AJ and Lee. My only gripe is that I was hoping for a more menacing villain for AJ to spar with, but the book had a lot of other things going for it.
2.75 ⭐️ Ummmmmmm. Yeah, no. It was horrible. But the story didn’t flow well in my opinion and the ending felt rushed. We could’ve spent less time on the beginning and more on the ending.
I LOVED A.J AND LEE! I was waiting so patiently to see who would be A.J's love interest and I was damn happy about the results! Lee is so intrigued by A.J at first glance and continues to pursue her even though she rejects him. I love how open Lee is to his feelings for her. She needed someone who was willing to love her wholeheartedly. And yes helllll yes that person was Lee!
