This is a nice little set of rules for a science fiction role-playing game. It's easy compared to many RPGs -- some might say simplistic -- but if you're willing to forgive some very flexible mechanics in exchange for a lot more room for the story to breathe, you won't be sorry. I'm planning to adapt these rules to create a pen & paper system to play a campaign in my favorite video game. The character backgrounds, advantages, disadvantages, and alien species generation are especially good. The skills are surprisingly detailed while also very easy. There's even a quick and dirty starship creation system.

This is basically D6 Star Wars with the serial numbers filed off. D6 is an easily adaptable universal system from before that was a thing, and this book basically contains some default layouts of obligatory scifi concepts. Where Fate is competence porn and Savage Worlds is action action action(!!), D6 might be the way to go for a game of intrigue and skill use. It's useful to have in your toolset.
