This book takes place in my beloved home state of South Carolina. It is the story of two cousins who own hair salons or beauty parlors. Whatever your preference. It takes place during the 80’s and is one hilarious ride. It may not be relevant to today’s hair salons, but it sure does give a great peak into the past of the hall of fame of hair. The gossip and competition is the same. The big chains have ruined these small one owner salons. Makes me yearn for the years I spent going with my momma to get her hair done back in Charleston, South Carolina as a little girl.

For a time in college I did some hair modeling. Consequently, I found this book hilarious. If you love the salon sequence from Steel Magnolias, you may also.
