"With perseverance, even the snail and the worm arrived at Noah's ark. On many occasions, the only thing we can, or know, to do is simply put one foot in front of the other. Maybe things are happening around us that we don't understand, and we ask ourselves if we are in the right place doing what we should be doing. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Perhaps you are going through a situation of calumny, rejection, or teasing that has taken away your desire to do what you proposed. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. If they have pulled the rug out from under you, making you feel betrayed, creating situations that are difficult to accept, and you have begun to feel like giving up, don't do it. Keep on putting one foot in front of the other. Keep on going to your classes, keeping your promises, being faithful to your word, putting one foot in front of the other, and when you least expect it, you will reach your promised land." (Marcos Witt, How to Overcome Fear: And Live Your Life to the Fullest, Page 212)

The author gives master keys to overcoming fear, so we can live our lives to the fullest. Some of these keys include: Walking in the love of God, forgetting the past and reaching forward to the future, forgiving those who have offended you, making restitution for your mistakes, wrongs and sins, dreaming again, taking action towards your dreams, facing your fears, rather than running away from them or cowering in the darkness, fearing God...

The teaching that spoke the most to me in this book was about forgetting the past, dreaming again, and taking action towards your dreams to destroy fear. He says, "True success comes with persistence, perseverance. Put one foot in front of the other and don't let anyone stop you. Saul of Tarsus, later Paul the Apostle, was one of the most extraordinary men in history. He went from a terrible past to great historical prominence. In the same way, the Lord wants to take you and me from our terrible pasts and carry us to a very high place. If we accept the challenge, we can write the new story of our lives, our families, and our countries. We could also help others become champions" (Page 205). Ruminating over the past will keep you paralyzed; forgetting what is behind and pressing forward to your God-given dreams will energize you with new life and the fear of the future will lose it's grip on you. He says, "History proves that any person who sticks to his [her] dreams for five years will attain them. But many people do not succeed because they give up at four and a half years" (Page 213).

Many great stories, strategies, skills and techniques mentioned in this book to overcome fear. God desires for you to have an abundant life and be free from fear. Amen. This book gives you tools and weapons to stop fear from becoming a stronghold in your life, so you can become all God created you to be!

I had to stop reading this book, because I wasn't getting anything out of it. This book is for someone who already had a strong will and just needs a little extra suggestion to overcome a fear. I really don't have any strong fears so this book from the get-go really wasn't for me. If you have a debilitating fear, I would not recommend this book because Mr. Witt is a pastor, not a psychologist. He quotes the bible and gives more religious suggestions for overcoming fear. He seems sincere in his approach and this book would only be helpful to someone who feels they may be able to move past a fear on their own.

Half way through the audio book version of this. Starts out kind of slow and basic but gets into some really good teachings on the metaphysics of fear and practices to overcome it in different areas of your life.

Started a bit slow, but had great info from about the middle to the end. I listened to the audio version and the author reading his own book brought the message to life.
