Buy It! Read It! Wow ... just wow. This book was so good.

Megan wants to settle her sister's debt to a couple of MC members in order to save her life, so she puts herself at risk by driving to their compound and asking to speak to the MC President. It's Klan County, so everybody thinks she's an apparition, because no way would ANY black person be dumb enough to seek them out or is she just crazy?!

"None of the men voiced an opinion. Some shrugged. A few irritated grunts sounded, and a few heads nodded uncaringly. One stared at my face with wide unblinking eyes like I was a unicorn."

WARNING: Ends on a cliffhanger. Offensive language, graphic sex and violence. A little birdie told me that Book 2 has been written and is scheduled to be released on December 23.

Twisted Hearts (Book 2) Synopsis - RELEASE DATE: December 23

Megan:

How the hell did he do it? Aaron had messed with my mind and twisted up my heart, but my body had never been so splendidly ravaged.

Stepping away from the August Knights Motor Cycle Club was easy, but leaving Aaron was killing me. Was it crazy for me to want to subject myself to the madness that the group stood for just because I couldn’t shake Aaron’s hold on me? But, I couldn’t go back. I had to consider his safety. I couldn’t allow my twisted past to go crashing into the turbulent life he led.

Aaron:

How the hell did she do it? Megan had cracked my chest open and filled it with crippling emotions that I couldn’t shake.

Letting Megan go wasn’t easy. Was it crazy of me to go chasing her after we’d agreed it was time to let go? I had to find her. My infatuation with her didn’t leave me any other options. In my quest to find her, I had discovered that Megan had secrets, deep dark ones that I could have figured out if I hadn’t gotten distracted. When I find her, I was going to make her tell me what she was hiding in that twisted mind of hers—or else.

If you love reading gritty and fast-paced MC books that are memorable with lots of twists and turns and pulsating sexual chemistry, then read Twisted Minds by a great new author, Keta Kendric! Aaron and Megan will keep your attention throughout this story... but Megan is holding back a lot of ... secrets. Really looking forward into them being revealed in Kendric's next book.

There were things I loved, and hated about this book. In general I have a side-eye for the "racists in love' trope that has become a thing in interracial romance of late. For that reason I want to go in on this, but the execution was done too well. I was begrudgingly all the way in for the ride the writer took me on. It helps that I am so thirsty for great biker reads in this subgenre. The ending is bit "to be continued" without being completely cliffhanger-y.

This trope - (ex) White Supremacist, Nationalist, sympathizer / Black woman is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I know. I know. Given the current political climate they've become a lot harder to enjoy, and they've taken a bit of a back burner on my reading list, but I stumbled upon this one and decided to give it a go. I enjoyed it, and am anxiously awaiting Book 2. That's right, the story doesn't end here; you have to read on for the HEA.

For a debut novel, this was pretty impressive. I had my issues, and didn't really settle into the plausibility of the story until right at the 50% mark but, after that, it was smooth sailing.

Megan goes to the August Knights motorcycle club to petition Shark, the MC President, to work off her sister's drug debt. I've seen this storyline before and I always have problems with it, especially given the fact that Megan is a black woman and this is a racist, redneck MC. The author does her best to set up a backstory, that Megan has let investigators know she's there so they can't just kill her, and that the club President is amused that she's 'crazy' and heck, why not just have their own personal maid/slave for a month...but it doesn't really work for me. I really see no reason why Shark would agree to this, given that he really had no way of knowing she wasn't a plant even though he confirmed that yes, her sister is in rehab, and yes, she does write books. I think the Feds could pull those two things off. So, we start off with me already giving this whole scenario the side eye. There is some passing mention of Shark finding her attractive and you get the sense that his strict orders that no one have sex with her, is because it would be bad form to him to take a taste himself. I wish he had been the one to mention her physical features, because Megan being the one to go on about her nice ass and breasts while in the middle of the situation she was in, was making me give this whole thing side eye #2.

Then, Aaron returns. Aaron is Shark's son and Vice Chairman/Enforcer. He'd been out on a job and is now back after two weeks, wondering why the hell there is a black woman serving food to the club members. Long story short, Megan is given to him to clean his house to compensate him for money owed to him by his cousin, and then it's places, people! Cause we're cooking with gas!

Aaron is not his father and the author takes pains to show that he is dissatisfied with MC life, and thinks most of them are a bunch of ignorant knuckleheads. He doesn't have some archaic view on race, though he's not exactly joining the NAACP. His thing is 'you respect me and stay out of my way, and I'll respect you'. But man, is he attracted to Megan and the curvy body she's trying to hide under her loose fitting clothes. Again, the build up here is a little clunky with much being made of Megan being 'crazy' and liking to walk on the wild side so we don't question her reasons for falling for a big, 'racist biker'. I felt it was a bit of a copout ie. telling and not showing. I did like that Aaron was big on consent, and that his stir craziness over his attraction to Megan was well done, and well documented. Once they were locked and loaded, I was fully engaged and really started to enjoy the story.

The sex - yes, yes, lawd and sweet, baby Jesus! Aaron was laying that pipe like he worked for the union. I was not mad at Megan AT ALL. Megan was a strong heroine and not one of these other silly types that get on my damn nerves. She was ride or die and, when placed in a precarious situation where she had to step up, she did the damn thing.

The 'ending' was fitting, and I didn't so much feel it ended on a cliffhanger, as it closed a certain chapter and prepared you for the next. Be warned, there is no HEA here; you have to wait for Book 2.

There are some funny moments - the scene with the black guys at 'The Mart', and Shark calling Megan every other 'M' name but the one her mama gave her.

Editing is very well done.

Warnings - you have to have an affinity for this type of book. The original scenario is offensive, the racist language, the whole servitude to work off the debt thing, and like I said, Megan's initial reaction to both Shark and Aaron will have you going, 'Say what??' The whole maid/slave cleaning bit had something raise up in me hard, and I struggled in the beginning. As for the author's warnings, violence, murder etc avoid if these are triggers for you. For me, it's right up my alley and I almost broke a nail rushing to hit the 'read for free' button.

Final answer - this was an enjoyable book, with a bit of a clunky start, that evens out midway. For a debut novel I was very impressed, especially because the author takes care to avoid many of the pitfalls of much more seasoned authors in this trope.

I give an A for effort, and very much look forward to Aaron going to get his woman!

First off, I don't like reading racist interracial romance books. But damn I'm really glad I stepped out of my comfort zone because this book right here (is frickin' bloody amazing) Holy shit! I was completely immersed in this book, I couldn't put it down and I didn't want to stop reading until the end. Mrs. Keta Kendric; {Applauding You!} Loved Megan's character (one strong bad ass, chica) could I have done what she did? Hell To The Frickin No! I would have been like, "What Sister?!?" And Aaron - *Sigh* I'm in love with Aaron. My goodness! I have no words! But all I know is, when Megan and Aaron come together (Their Chemistry Was Through The Roof) I truly hate there is a major cliffhanger, though! Because that ending, WTF?!? Girl, I need book #2, like right now! Can't leave a girl hangin! Lol.

Would I Recommend This Book? Hell Yes! Highly Recommended This Dark Interracial "MC" Romance.

My "2" Favorite Quotes:
- “Do I need to repeat the part about not fucking her? From what I hear, black pussy makes white men do strange shit!"

- "It was funny how these people claimed to hate blacks, but the moment they saw an African-American woman that piqued their interest, they’d lose their fucking minds."

Is it possible to feel like a story was rushed even though it doesn’t seem like anything much was happening? That’s how I feel about this story.

Megan, a black lady, walks into a racist motorcycle club and says “Hey, my drug addicted sister owes you money. I want to pay off her debt by being your maid”.
The club president says, “Okay, for 30 days you’ll be the maid” to the member he says, “Nobody can fuck the black lady.”

Half way through the 30 days, Megan meets the president’s son, Aaron. He has a 10-inch dick. They find each other irresistible and fuck a lot.

Okay, so that’s not exactly how it went down, but that’s the gist of it. There were, of course, some violent scenes. Megan is pretty badass. She says she’s twisted because violence doesn’t faze her. She is, by no means, a damsel in distress. Megan imo was the best part of the story.

I’m hoping the next two books in the series offers more substance.

What the heck did I just read??
So this is book 1 of this current 6 book box series that I'm reading..

All I can say is I couldn't put this weird, jumbled up mess of insanity down.. The chemistry with Aaron and Megan is explosive. The dangers and grotesquely dark way of life for this MC, I fear is just the tip of the madness I witnessed here.. Not to mention the racists who reign supreme here..

And Megan she has secrets. MANY dangerous ones. Aaron's father does as well.. I'm curious with what this all means.. so I'm biting..

This was an intro to the rabbit hole of these folks' lives.. So I'm sure the more I spend on this journey, the more answers I'll get.

Looks like book two, Twisted Hearts, will be about Megan and Aaron as well.

See you all there✌️

Umm this was absolutely abhorrent. I don’t think I have enough words to describe how nasty and disgusting this book was. Luckily though I do have quotes. To begin this black women goes in literal klan county to like pay her sisters debt. Free my sisters please. She goes into a motorcycle club that’s known for being racist and tries to repay the debt with no money😭 and then she’s like ill be your maid. Girl….here are my top fav quotes tho

“Who in the fuck are you?” he asked. His demanding gaze warned me not to fuck with him. “You better be lost or crazy because you have stumbled into the wrong club. Don’t you know this is a whites-only establishment? There ain’t no signs posted, but anybody around here who don’t live under a fucking rock knows that fact.”

Purrrrr whites only

“So, let me get this shit straight. You drove out here to nigger-lynching territory to broker a deal with me so that my men would leave your drug-addicted sister alone?”

Yuppp isn’t she smart

“I’m tired of looking at her black face already.”

Go king

“Shark didn’t answer the man. Instead, he pointed out, “This is the craziest shit I’ve ever encountered, but even you must admit it takes nuts the size of Texas for someone like this to find me and risk her life to make a proposal to square someone else’s debt. Now, I don’t associate with blacks and neither does anyone else in this room, but if you find one that stumbles into your place and pretty much offers to be your slave to square a debt...” He shook his head in disbelief with a wide grin spread across his face. “I don’t see how you turn some shit like that down. And, this bitch isn’t all the way crazy.”

Go her yuppp

“His deliberate use of the N-word and the word, slave, rattled my nerves and sent fear coursing through my veins.
“Think we should get a rope or better yet a whip?”

Yes she hears this and stays, no I don’t really know why

-“As much as I’d like to have a good old-fashioned modern-day lynching, it isn’t going to happen…at least not with her.”
-“Do I need to repeat the part about not fucking her? From what I hear, black pussy makes white men do strange shit.”

Shark, Aaron’s (hero) dad, everyone

Then this is what our amazing hero (Aaron) says upon meeting her

“Good God! The woman was gorgeous, and despite being brown, her presence was eye-catching. I scratched my head, realizing this was the first time I’d noticed…truly noticed a woman of color. Since I’d been forbidden from being around them all my life, my reaction to my attraction to this one was justified, I supposed.”

Is that not love right there?

“You don’t care about mixing up the gene pools, and I’ll be damned if any son of mine or even kin of mine get themselves tangled up with some black pussy. God forbid, I end up with a mixed-up grandbaby. Jesus!”

Gosh u gotta love Aaron’s dad

“I’m not deep into that old-school racist shit either.”

Aaron’s an activist tho okay

“Your father announced that no one was to fuck the nigger”

Purrrr, what does Aaron do though upon hearing this and her almost getting raped. He walks away and never mentions it again.

“Her voice interrupted my thoughts. “You thought because I’m African-American that I only listen to rap and R&B, right?”
That was exactly what the hell I’d thought. I couldn’t lie.
“Yes. That’s what I thought. As a matter of fact, a lot of what I was taught doesn’t seem to be true, not for you anyway”

“A tiny crease lined her forehead. “Unfortunately, a small percentage usually represents the whole of us in society’s eyes, and it’s usually the worst of us that the spotlight gets shined on,” she said.
I understood exactly what she meant. The media always found the biggest, meanest, and most illiterate redneck around and presented him to the world as representation of all of us.”

FREE MY SISTAS FROM THE CHACKLES OF THE YT MAN FREE THEM

“It’s a birth control device,” she said, glancing down at the spot I’d pointed out.
“That’s good. Smart. That way, if one of us raped you, you wouldn’t have to worry about getting pregnant”

Just another Aaron gem

Umm idk who likes this whole racist yt man/black women who doesn’t seem to care trope but it is not I. This is embarrassing and nasty frankly. I hated Megan because why would you fuck Aaron please stop this. Aaron…self explanatory. And every other character was a hard core white supremacist.

First off, Aaron was extremely sexy, obscenely dominant and hella hot! This man literally threw the h over his shoulder and had his way with her. The sex scenes were great but the relationship development needed work. I didn’t connect with Megan the entire story. She didn’t have much dialogue or personality. I couldn’t figure out why she behaved the way she did and I didn’t really feel her connection to Aaron either. The only part of the book that she actually caught my attention was the last page.

I need more!!!!

Holy smokes this book was so good. I need book 2 to come out like real soon. Aaron and Megan are two nutters but had some really steamy scenes together it reminds me of that show "Sons of Anarchy" but with BWWM couple. I really enjoyed this book and I think many of you will also have a good time as well. They only thing I would change is I wish the book was longer but that's my only problem, other than that I'm fine!!!!!

Frustrated

I wish this book was advertised as part one, because if I'd known I wouldn't have read it. This was my first read by this author and enjoyed the story. I seriously dislike authors who hack the story in multiple parts when one would suffice. I doubt I'll be reading Twisted Hearts, the next installment.

Worst book I have ever read. Her motivations for enslaving herself are stupid. This author made it a point to emphasize how racist these bikers are, but yet you expect me to believe they’d allow a black woman in their homes and in their clubhouse, dumb dumb dumb. Put down your pen asap.

First, let me say that it is a well written book. I simply however could not abide some things that made this not work for me:
The use of the N word
One of the reasons why I will not travel further south than DC, is that people down there don't seem to understand slavery done. Aspects of this book brought back all the negatives that I have heard about the South.

Make the plot believable

She a successful author trying to save her crackhead (authors adjective) sister from a 3K debt to a MC..
Really??? An multibook selling author doesn't have 3,000.00 and instead agrees to 30days of servitude??
If I hadn't read in a while I would have finished it. But I read almost everyday and I dont want to regret the 2-3hrs it would take me to finish.

I read a book that was similar to this last month and was appalled on how the story was written. It was distasteful, disrespectful and disgusting. And I was wary to read Twisted Minds because I didn’t want to be disappointed again.

The author did an amazing job with Twisted Minds. I thought she wrote the characters in a very tasteful way. I knew the type of story she was writing and I knew it was going to push the envelope, the difference between Twisted Minds and the other book I read was that TM was well thought out and planned. It was edgy but not totally off the cliff. It had that little shock value but I wasn’t having a freaking heart attack.

The heroine was well written, I really liked her and the hero was really cool too, I didn’t hate him because he had a mind of his own and thought for himself which was really important for the situation they were in. I can’t wait to read book two!!! I’m so excited to see where their relationship goes.

Truly Twisted

Wow, this story played no games, and brings you in with a plot that hit the ground running. Megan I the beginning is trying to clear her drug addicted sister's debt, that she owes to a notoriously racist motorcycle gang. The club president Shark, is suspicious at first, thinking that this church mouse of a woman must either be crazy enough to come here or has balls the size of Texas. He accepts Megan's offer to cook and clean their club house and bar for 30 days until the debt is paid. And she proves her worth. His only decree is that the club members aren't allowed to (in this case) force themselves on her.

But when Shark's son Aaron, the club's enforcer, gets back I to town. He soon finds out that Megan isn't an ordinary woman, but has secrets buried so deep they won't see the light of day. He has his doubts, until their sexual attraction outweighs his caution. Aaron and Megan connected in an interesting way, sensing the hidden dark nature inside of each other that drew them together. Despite the forbidden attraction, unbidden feelings seemed to bind them deeper, amidst guns, drugs and murder. Until Megan's 30 days is up. And now we have to wait with baited breath for the next book on the uncovering of Megan's checkered past, as Aaron tries to track her down.

Cliffhanger but still good

I knew before reading this book that It was going to be a cliffhanger because there was too much build up to get all of this in one book.

I don't want to give up too much of the story but Megan and Aaron are in love and their story has only begun. There is going to be aome problems and drama before ir is all over, I just feel it. I have been waiting for this book and as soon as it was released I was on it. This book draws you in and keeps you turning page after page.

Ms. Keta great story, I love the characters and can't wait to read how Aaron and Megan conclude.

Really engaging IR book that steps out of the normal. A passionate biker who is not suppose to find the heroine attractive because she is black. The heroine is sweet with an edge. Clearly she has been around the block and has seen some things. She was a pleasant surprise! I should have written the review sooner, as I'm struggling recalling all of the exact details, but I did like the book. It ends in a cliffhanger. This was IR done right!

OMG, just when it was getting good!

Damn I hate cliff hangers!!!!! This was so good. I could not stop reading this from beginning to end. This story was full of drama and action packed suspense with some mystery surrounding the characters.

Megan and Aaron's relationship was on FIYAH!!! Keta has a way with words that had me feeling some kind of way. The way she described their interactions with each other had me shivering with her emotion filled words. Now I'm curious to find out about Megan's past and how she seems to be so comfortable with the August Knight Motorcycle Club's enforcer. Aaron's life was hard and rough. He learned that all the brain washing about black people was not true. He was attracted to Megan in a way he did not understand and tried his best to resist until he could not any longer. Just one time and that was all it took for them to be addicted to each other like hitting crack cocaine for the time, just one hit and they were both hooked on each other dispute what Aaron's father Shark had warned.

Now I can not wait to find out the unanswered questions I have in the next book Twisted Hearts. Great job Keta! Hurry up and write!

Boy oh boy did I love this book. This is Megan and Aaron's story. Megan a girl who went to August Knight' MC a racist MC i must say to work off the debt of her sister who is in rehab. Of course Megan met Aaron after his mission, his father suggested he take her to repay a dept of his cousin for the reminder of her stay. One thing lead to another while she was there. Lol killed and buried bodies together. They were almost the perfect couple. Feelings were developed but of course they had to say goodbye at the end of her time. So that's when Aaron realized that he knew nothing about the woman he had fallen for

Just so cheesy!

I so wanted to like this book more, but it reads like Sons of Anarchy fanfic at best. And seriously, why did every man want her so badly? I’m all for being confident, but this was just weird. Also, Aaron was a very one-dimensional character. He is also very clumsy when he’s horny. He also knows how to unbutton a shirt, but not undo his cuffs. So strange. Even more strange is that I’ll ready book 2.
