"Singleness Redefined" provides the single woman with a refreshing reminder of the sovereignty of God, even in singleness. In this book, lies and discouragements of life are measured against God's truths and promises. Drawing from personal anecdotes as well as a wide range of materials, Carolyn Leutwiler highlights the abundance that can be found in God during this life stage and provides practical ideas for spiritual, personal, and relational growth and productivity.
I liked this book very much. I liked the advices the author gave about how to be satisfied in singleness and how we should always look up to Jesus and to find true satisfaction in Him. He should be our first love in our lives and then to love the partner, because relationship with God through Jesus is the most important relationship a Christian can have.
actually pretty good. I picked it up because i was fed up with society always telling women to be with a man. I love being single and I liked this book.
Amidst my fever, I am reading this awesome book. It's a great reminder for me to appreciate singleness yet at the same time be open for marriage opportunities.
An easy to read book, I would say worth of two and a half stars. I read this for my interest in how (young) women regard singleness. Regardless of the link that the author finds between singleness and suffering, I found that three chapters dedicated to the subject of pain is too much. I enjoyed the dating chapter and the one dedicated to ideads regarding how to invested your time spared from not having a family. What I also enjoyed are there references to culture/ literature while I disliked the fact that some ideas are vague and sometimes the final answer seems to be bible study! Anyway, a books worth checking. Althought the perspectives differ much, I found Elisabeth Elliot's Path of loneliness better.
This book is very inspirational. It shows you what is really important and how can you get out from self-pity and depressive thoughts about singleness. You can really enjoy to be free, and this book can you help to experience this freedom.
I know it is written for women but I found it quite helpful, it maybe took a little more work on some bits, but generally the same themes I think guys struggle with too. I found it very helpful.
