A mirror’s gleaming reflection bears untold secrets of a dark and haunting past…
Stefan Korzh is at it again, and while Ivan’s deadly ghost has thrown a wrench into his son’s plans, the spiteful road to revenge continues. More haunted items from the family’s notorious collection are appearing with new owners. Worst of all is a pen possessing an inviting glimmer that can destroy whoever spills its demonic ink.
Jeremy Rhinehart and Victor Daniels are in a desperate rush to stop the mayhem, and seem to be headed in the right direction…but somehow, the closer they get, the harder things become. And they are slowly finding that they’re not the only ones who want Stefan dead.
As the histories of the possessed collectibles continue to reveal themselves, more objects emerge, and old family secrets are contained within the elegant ridges of the compact mirror. Everything hangs in the balance, and it’s up to Victor to discard his tragic demons and stop Stefan before the streets are lined with more bodies.
But as Victor and Jeremy continue their quest against evil, they discover a terrifying force lurking in their midst. Nothing is ever as it seems…
Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.
Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the best book in the series so far! I feel like I say that every time a new installment comes out but it's the truth! Ripley has a true knack for expanding out his universe and adding many characters without the reader becoming overwhelmed. His strong characterization allows you to quickly become acquainted with new characters and remember old characters the reader has not encountered in a while. I also don't know how he does it but it is impossible not to genuinely care about ALL of the characters...regardless of how sadistic some may prove to be.
The story was fleshed out significantly in this installment and there were some twist and turns that i was not expecting so i am excited to see what comes next for our friends and foes.
Once again we are immersed in the gruesome world that resides in Ron Ripley's imagination, and it's a trip well worth taking. Stefan Korzh is still at large and is still unleashing his little shop of horrors onto the world, sending haunted items to unsuspecting people, with the expected results. Two pairs of hunters, with vastly different agendas, are seeking the same goal - to kill Stefan. Victor and Tom want to stop the killings while Bontac and Ariana want to stop Stefan from spoiling their objective of killing even more innocent people. Ron Ripley has a true talent for spinning scary yarns. The reader can expect to be at once entertained and horrified and love every moment of it. There are at least two more books in this series and I look forward to reading them with bloody relish.
The storyline keeps getting better and better. The storyline is well developed and continuing to give chills. You now have more possessed items finding their way into peoples homes thanks to Stefan. You find Dad's ghost is back from the dead. Victor and Jeremy are working hard to get these pieces that kill. The characters maintain your interest. Thom Bowers the Narrator keeps you wanting more as he does a great job with the narration. He is able to send chills down your spine as the story gets so creepy. I love that Shane made an appearance and you have Tom from Walter's Rifle. Ron Ripley is becoming one of my favorites. I have 3 friends now buying and enjoying his books since I talk so much about his books. I recommend this book and series.
Another enjoyable installment in the series. I am impressed how Ripley does not give the antagonist a pass. Both good and bad sides face weighty obstacles, so much so that at times I was actually worried for the baddie. One of my favorite aspects of the series is the villain's family. They are complex, giving a rich backstory to the disturbed personality pitted against Victor and Jeremy. Love how the ghosts also play a vital part to the plots. And always, it's great to see a favorite character from a retired series by Ripley. Just a request for next time (should there be a next time), bring Carl.
I read the first one of these a while ago and then got Amazon Prime and quickly got the rest of the series and read them in 2 days. I really enjoyed these books. At some points there was a lot of repetition but not necessarily in each individual book and probably more so in the series and since I read them back to back.
Victor and Tom make some dumb decisions and some decisions and character choices seem like possible after thoughts just to help keep the tension and change the monotony but it doesn't keep me from enjoying this series.
In this installment we find out some surprising secrets. We learn that Ivan isn't always the emotionless man his son Stefan wants us to believe he is. Only problem is Stefan isn't the one on the receiving end of all the love his father seems to have to give. But who is? Victor and Jeremy are still on the hunt for the deadly items Stefan keeps selling to the world to unsuspecting buyers. This book is delving deeper into the world of the collectors of death objects and the ones desperate to stop them.
Great read. Loved each book in this series, I can't wait to read the next book in this series, though I don't believe it has been released yet. Don't pass this set if you love the paranormal with an excellent writer.😊
Another excellent book that leaves you wanting more!! I'm in love with this series! Looking forward to the next book!! Any idea when the next book will be coming out???
Still able to keep the suspense and horror mounting in the 3rd book of the series. The pages seem to turn by themselves as you eagerly read on to find what hellish artifact will be unleashed next!
Blood in the Mirror added to so much to the previous Haunted Collection series. It was interesting seeing Ivan and Ariana's relationship from Ariana's childhood to the present. This series definitely gets better with each book!
I'm loving this series! You might think with all of the switching of storylines between characters confusing, but I think that makes it more exciting. Never a dull moment in these books. I don't know which series of Mr. Ripley's is my favorite!
I'm enjoying the series, but I'm almost at the point I feel the story line is starting to drag on. Victor has been hunting his wife's murderer since the first book, and he's not getting anywhere. I know there are 9 books in the series, I'm just not sure if it's in me to finish all of them.
Lets just say as the series goes the intense of the stories go. And the haunted items get deadlier. So like i say in reviews i don't give spoilers away. 5 haunted items out of 5
This was my favourite so far! The walls are closing in on Stefan from all sides. This one was saw a Goblin gone crazy and oh no Anne is on the loose but where? We saw Jeremys demise (though I’m thinking not for long) leaving poor Victor with another death to avenge. Looking forward to book 4.

Ron Ripley certainly knows how to provide more than a few unexpected twists within the pages of this story. I certainly plan on reading the next book in the series.
Really enjoying this series but was disappointed Jeremy had to die he was a key player in the book with the most experience and didn't die as predicted by the voodoo prediction .
I highly recommend these books... I can't put them down on the forth one now...in three days ❤️❤️❤️ my daughter is reading this series to can't get enough
Another fabulous book! I could not put this one down. The saga of Jeremy, Victor, and Tom continues - and one of them is not going to make it out alive.
More possessed items are finding their way into peoples hands and Victor and Jeremy are struggling to keep up with them. This time sees a possessed pen being unleashed with anyone who decides to write with it writing their confessions and then ending their own life.
Meanwhile Stefan Korzh is fighting his own battles. All he wants is to unleash as many ghosts as possible but, it's not only Jeremy and Victor who are trying to stop him, his own fathers ghost is doing all it can to kill him too. Stefan is becoming increasingly unhinged and it gets worse when a new player enters the game with some surprising secrets.
Here we are at book 3 and this author still manages to surprise me! He can still throw a few twists and turns into the story to keep it fresh and original. The plot of this one was extremely fast paced and intense. Things are hotting up and despite Victor and Jeremy seemingly closing in, things are getting harder and harder for the duo. Secrets are revealed in this one that surprised even me!!
The characters in this never get a break!! Not even the bad guys. Victor and Jeremy have had such a hard time and it is only going to get harder. My heart even went out to Stefan, (but only for a second ;)), because he is really struggling. One thing I love about this author is that he treats all his characters the same, both the good and bad face a tremendous amount of things happening to them. Nothing ever comes easy!!
In all, this series just gets better and better. I flew through this edition and cant not wait to see what happens next!! It's such a great series and I urge everyone to try it.
Thom Bowers did a great job as always. He has a great voice for a story like this and can bring the atmosphere to life.
I was given this free audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.
Blood in the Mirror is the great third book in the Haunted Collection series by Ron Ripley. The author wrote an incredible book that fits perfectly into the series, but is different from the prior two. The pace is just right and you never feel like you are waiting for something to happen. The plot is nicely developed in this third book.
He is introducing Ivan in this book now and how he is interfering in everything, like things are not difficult enough as it is? At least he also wants to stop Stefan but for other reasons and his ulterior motives are not good in any case. And who is helping Ivan (Stefan's dead father)?
Now Victor, Jeremy and their new help Tom sure have their work cut out for them. Not only do they have to stop the damage that the items Stefan is selling doing, but they also are trying to stop Stefan but also have to worry about Ivan not wanting them to interfere with Stefan. Yes, life definitely has gotten very difficult and I don't think it is getting easier any time soon. But I am curious to see what case they will have to tackle next.
