A 12,000 word short story about food, fluff, and fornication.
Henry wants to share his and Reed’s first Christmas Eve being engaged by hosting dinner with their closest friends. Henry loves food and he loves to cook—he plans an entire menu and decorates the house to rival a department store, but even though everything’s perfect, something’s not quite right.
As Henry and Reed prepare for a merry Christmas, no matter what happens, you know it will be a very Henry Christmas.
N.R. Walker is an Australian author, who loves her genre of gay romance. She loves writing and spends far too much time doing it, but wouldn't have it any other way.
She is many things; a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who she gives them life with words.
She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things...but likes it even more when they fall in love. She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal.
A Very Henry Christmas is book #1.5 in The Weight of It All series by N.R. Walker. I love Henry and Reed so so much and this was the perfect little look into their future. Also, we finally get a bit of Reed’s POV. It made me love him even more.
It’s Henry and Reed’s first Christmas together as fiances! You already know how much Henry loves cooking and providing food to the people he loves. So what better way to show their closest friends how much they mean to them then to cook a feast and host them all for Christmas Eve.
Of course, Henry has gone over and above with his decorating and menu. He has lists for his lists but he’s still stressed out. Reed knows just how to relieve some of that stress!
This was such a sweet, fun novella complete with some news regarding one of their friends. I loved everything about this. Especially that they are “their” friends now. Not Reeds or Henry’s. These two make such an adorable couple and I swooned a few times while reading this. If you haven’t read either of these, you need to. You can thank me later!
A must read for Henry & Reed fans! Or should I say Feyoncé & Reed-Z?
This story takes adorable to a whole new level, what with a girl named Moo, crazy Christmas shirts, a judgy fish, happy tears, and Henry cooking up a storm.
Oh, and let's not forget the steamy bits. Sizzle, baby! 🔥
I was thrilled to get not just Henry's but also Reed's POV. These two are so in love!
This was a cute, quick holiday read. It had some good humor. Henry was still a bit OTT and he and Reed were a bit gushy. Some nice steam though, bonus points for that.
I've read this right after a VERY DARK book so it was pretty hard to get used to all the sugary sweet scenes. And there were A LOT! Well being a Christmas themed story, maybe it was supposed to be sweeter than honey. Besides the over the top Christmas decorating, and way too much cooking, we get a very stressed Harry and a way too understanding Reed. They are very much in love and soon to be married.
Harry and Reed spend their first Christmas together as an engaged couple, surrounded by their closest friends. It's been a long time since I've read The Weight of it all. Unfortunately I don't remember much, besides how much I laughed and well I saw myself in Harry, crying while going to the gym. I am sorry I don't remember Anika, Harry's best friend. She has a surprise here and I guessed it from the first moment she started to look green. And awkward. Strange that Reed and especially Harry didn't guess.
I ended rounding my rating up because I enjoyed the writing, I missed Harry's craziness, I got to laugh again and the hot scenes were pretty great.
This short sequel to The Weight of It All provides a sweet, sexy and tremendously joyful glimpse into the lives of Henry, Reed, and their closest friends, as they gather together for a Christmas Eve feast neurotically prepared by Henry.
Told from both Henry and Reed's POV this was a super quick, funny, sexy, cute follow up to N.R. Walker's The Weight of it All. If you liked that story you're bound to like this too.
Henry and Reed host their first big Christmas Eve dinner party and we get to check in with all the characters we met in The Weight of it All. There's lots of humor and even some surprises included.
*** A Very "Henry" Christmas. *** This is a sexy, sweet, story of Henry, Financial Actuary, and Reed, Fitness Expert, celebrating their first Christmas as an engaged couple. It's full of their love, sexy times, a dinner with family and friends, and more. It's heartwarming and fun to peek inside our guys secret realm. I loved the book, "The Weight of It All". Remarkable and entertaining. A wonderful epilogue ! Highly recommended. ENJOY ! =====================
A short sequel of The Weight of It All : it's all sugar and fun, with the OTT but adorable Henry and the sweet Reed. An entertaining "extended" epilogue.
Ohmygosh this book was so freaking cute. Can N.R. Walker just do me a favor and write one bad book? I'm joking. I'm joking. Don't ever do that. I would cry. Literally lol! The Weight of it All was one of my favorites this year and this was an adorable follow-up to it!
He de reconocer que no soy muy fan de la pareja, pero es que este short navideño tiene una cantidad de azúcar que estoy al borde de la diabetes, además de que no pasa absolutamente NADA.
I was promised a “A 12,000 word short story about food, fluff, and fornication” and a “A 12,000 word short story about food, fluff, and fornication” I got ❤️
Henry is so funny and lovable. It was so nice to be able to read more about Henry and Reed and their loyal group of friends. They're all unique, but they all have a great sense of humor. Loved Henry's idea for what to wear to his party! Being able to revisit characters truly is one of the best Christmas gifts I could get. I want to have more of the guys from Red Dirt and also Kira and Matt from Turning Point Series. I love how much Matt relishes Kira's more dominant behavior in the bedroom. Ooh, and can't forget Spencer and Andrew. Siiigh. Love all of them!
This was like the 🍒 on top of the Henry and Reed sundae. Love these two and all of their crazy friends so much. I hope we get a wedding novella as well or I’m going to feel slighted.
Ahhhhh I LOVE this revisit with Henry and Reed, I just adore them so much. This book has what I loved so much in the first book, the originality and uniqueness to Henry's voice and inner thoughts. I just loved this - fans of Henry and Reed, this is a MUST read!
Ooh, I loved this little glimpse at Reed and Henry as they celebrate their first Christmas as an engaged couple. They are still wildly in love (every time Henry takes off his ring to cook or do dishes, Reed asks Henry again to marry him as he places the ring back on his finger - swoon) and reading this reminds me of how much I absolutely adored The Weight of It All and Henry's wit and humor. 5 stars.
Aw, this was a cute addition to 'the weight of it all.' Henry is adorable, and he and Reed together as adorable as ever. Anika had some news to share with Henry and Reed and it was sweet and adorable. Also Reed and Henry were sugary sweet how they asked the other to marry them every time they had to put their engagement ring back on. How stinkin' adorabllleeee.
This is a cute little added story, I enjoyed it :)
I loved this book. Judgemental Barramundi and all.
It was all you would expect from a visit with Henry and Reed. Even though this is a short story there is heaps and heaps of feelings. You can feel the love and friendships and the sense of family in every single word. It's sweetness and a lot of fun, there is sass and printed t-shorts. And since Henry is cooking, there's also a lot of food. And if you ever wondered why Rudolph's nose is red, you will get the answer, just make sure you really want to know ;-)
If this book doesn't get you in the holiday spirit I don't know what will.
I've not been having the best of luck this year with Christmas stories but I have finally found a winner!!
Super cute Christmas Eve shorty that really just made me smile. I have such a thing for fancy dinners. I have dinner parties all the time in my head. Thank God for dinner parties in my books!
