Ok, so I perused, and read a couple chapters, including page 55 and -- eh. I think the idea of this book is cute, and fun -- but it falls short in the execution. It just isn't really all that funny or insightful.
This was quite funny in places and I laughed out.loud quite.a.few times. It's about lots of things men do and in a funny way. Very relatable even today. Good to pick up for a quick 5 minute read every now and then as would be tedious in one sitting. It's very dated 1980s but still funny in 2024. I think it could have flowed better but all things considered I liked it and read to the end.
No matter how independent a woman you are, there's bound to be a time when you see a cutie on a corner or in a shop window and you'll want to take him home. This book points out some of the issues you should consider first: besides behavioral training, feeding and grooming, you'll also be tasked with making his medical appointments, managing his weight, scheduling his play dates... ;)~
This book is a funny look at all-things MEN. It's from the mid-80's, but surprisingly little of the content is dated. (The great thing about referencing Sean Connery and Harrison Ford as hotties is that we ladies still "get it", even 25 years later.) What's actually weird is that the book jacket info on the author says she's an American native and resident, but the whole thing is written with a Brit's perspective and language and it was published in London. It's not a problem, it's just odd.
