String of Pearls... A Mother's Wisdom

Rate this book
A majority of the profits from the sale of this book will go directly to benefit breast cancer research. String of Pearls is dedicated to Mary True, an accomplished and well known Baltimore musician. In 1983 Baltimore Magazine named Mary True "Baltimore's Best Cocktail Pianist" and in 1989 she received a Congressional Achievement Award praising her for her "exemplary contributions to the field of performing arts." Marie True Evans, her daughter, and author of String of Pearls, fondly remembers her mother's "pearls of wisdom" which she shares in this book along with selected "pearls" from the author's relatives, friends and colleagues. There are also quotations from first ladies Barbara Bush, Betty Ford, Lady Bird Johnson and Nancy Reagan. The book includes photos and quotations from such celebrities as Lolita Davidovich, Phyllis Diller, Patty Duke, Meryl Streep and Natalie Wood. Laura Huxley leads the literary section. In color, soft cover with 92 pages, its 5" x 8" size is a great gift for any occasion... not just Mother's Day. It is the kind of book that encourages the readers to share their remembrances with friends and family... a wonderful birthday gift for that special friend, a pick-me-up for those in the hospital, a lovely keepsake for a new bride or a unique hostess gift the entire family will enjoy. The book was launched at the Beverly Hills Tennis Club on April 28th to rave reviews with many of the special guests leaving with multiple copies to share with their loved ones. It's just the kind of book you want to pass on to others.
