Robert Kavanaugh hasn't always made the best decisions in his life. Consequently, he's living in a small apartment avoiding the stack of divorce papers awaiting his signature. When rushing out to work one morning, he walks into an old woman whose appearance repulses him. He has the opportunity to apologize but decides, instead, to unleash his anger and frustrations in a string of cruel, nasty words. Only this woman has some words of her own to impart--and Robert will come to truly regret his poor choices.
Take my hand and let me lead you to the dark side....
I don't want you to curl up and be cozy; I want to take you well out of your comfort zone. I don't want to send a tingle up your spine; I want to paralyze you with fear. I don't want you to read about a character's fright; I want you to experience it. I don't want to take you down a well-traveled path; I want to lead you beyond the shadows into a realm of darkness beyond your wildest imagination.
Because ordinary horror is for ordinary people.
Dare to be extraordinary.

The author, Angel Gelique, once again grabs the reader by the throat and takes them into a twisted journey into the unknown!
A small taste of what is inside this book:
The story revolves around Robert as his life is on a downward spiral as his wife is wanting a divorce, but something unexpected happens to Robert as he "accidentally" bumps into an old woman on the street. I am not going to give away spoilers, but I will say this: The moral of this story is always respect your elders as the consequences could be dire if you don't.
I read this book within a day as I could not put it down! Five stars all the way for this one!
I read this one shortly after I discovered Angel Gelique's work. Her images and twisted ideas and captivating stories are one of the very few people who can consistently tweak me out (and keep me up), even hours after I shut the Kindle off. This is a short read about a guy who goes through some horrible ... let's call them changes ... after he does some pretty horrible stuff himself. (I don't want to give away any plot points). Suffice it to say this is another offering by Gelique where you're horrified but she tempers it by having the bad stuff happen to somebody that has it coming.
Dang, I've said too much. But I still recommend this one.
Quite literally, dry and raw dark humour from start to finish!
An interesting and enjoyable little story that reinforces the point that it always pays to be kind to others...no matter the circumstances. Good advice? - most definitely!
Rating: 3.7 stars...would have been higher if the tale was longer.
Robert is losing it all in life. One day he bumps into a old lady and cusses her out, she doesn’t take that to well and puts a curse on him. This a very short story so that’s all I’ll say, I really enjoyed how it’s just a downhill turn of events and let’s just say “Karma is a bitch”
A quick dose of horror with some shocking moments. It reminded me of Stephen King's Thinner. I love curses that actually work. Back in the 1990s, living in an Indian town one would find ritualistic lemons and marigolds lying down on the road, some malevolent spirit supposedly trapped in the citrous fruit, waiting for someone to step on it and take it upon himself. I wasn't 'lucky' enough to find a spirit upon me but I wouldn't want to meet the old hag in Desiccation.
Well written but unoriginal tale of a mean-spirited fool who gets cursed by a gypsy woman. In Stephen King's much earlier tale Thinner, we get a weight loss curse that would do any fan of Jenny Adkins proud. Here, we get dehydrated. A lot.
Fun, fast paced story. It's a cross between Stephen King's Thinner and the movie Drag Me To Hell. The epilogue was the lead up to a whole other story. A good one but excess. I gave this book 4 stars because it ended at 73%. The rest are plugs for Gelique's other books. I felt cheated.
