Rate this book
When research scientist, Stephen Lewis, wakes from a coma in a Miami hospital bed, he remembers nothing about his head injury, how he came to be in Florida, or even who he really is.
As fragments of his memory return, Stephen is shocked to find that even those closest to him seem not to know him. And when another man turns up, claiming to be the real Stephen Lewis, he begins to doubt his own sanity.
Desperate to learn the truth, Stephen is unwittingly drawn into a murky web of drug trafficking and murder. At its heart lies a terrifying conspiracy and a secret so appalling that, even if he survives, he knows his life can never be the same again.

Ray Green

Ray Green is married with two daughters and lives in West Sussex, England. He graduated from Southampton University with a BSc in Physics and then went on to a career spanning some 30 years in the electronics manufacturing industry. For much of that time, he was operating at Director level in several different companies, and so is well qualified to give an insight into the world of business and corporate politics. Buyout, Ray's first novel, is based on his actual experience of carrying out a management buyout. It is, however, a work of fiction: the companies, characters and much of the plot in Buyout are different from those that figured in the MBO which inspired this story. The sequel, 'Payback', charts the fortunes of the principal characters on 'Buyout' over the next few years.

This is a genuinely thrilling read. An excellent plot, with some unguessable twists and turns. A host of great characters. And writing that just flows, so you're already turning (or tapping) the next page before you realise you've done it. Definitely one of those "just one more chapter" books which more than lives up to its billing as "gripping".
Very much hoping Mr Green decides to revisit these characters, because I'm already champing at the bit to see them in action again.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from page one and my interest didn’t waver. Packed with suspense, the plot draws you in very quickly. The notion of waking up from a coma, ‘not knowing who you are’ is a scenario one dreads but as the mystery unfolds, it opens up a mesmerising world of psychological suspense with scenes of nail-biting action that make it very hard to put down. Having read previous books by this author, the characters really come to life in this one with an intriguing build up depicted very much through their eyes. The Miami setting and the main players (from the police and the violent antagonists) make it very real. The writing is flawless, even though I found a couple of descriptions a little overwritten; yet the passion and danger entwined within the book make it a real winner!

A well earned 5 stars and with the promise of a sequel to come.

This was a gripping read from the very first page, and kept me glued to my kindle until I’d finished! The premise is strong, the characters well-drawn and the pace relentless, with plenty of action scenes as well as psychological suspense. And like all Ray Green’s books, the editing and proofreading are flawless.
Although the narrative arc is complete within this book, I can see plenty of scope for a sequel, and am hugely looking forward to it.

Good Read

I enjoyed the suspense of this book, read in less than 24 hours. It is a compelling tale of a man who has lost his memory. I have seen a movie with this theme & perhaps have read another similar themes book, but this one is good enough to recommend highly. Excellent writing!

Lots of action

This started off kind of slow ... A mugging, an attack and a loss of memory. But it draws you in as you feel the frustration of not remembering the simple things in your life. and then you start to remember and that's when the story gets interesting. Such a wonderful read. My new favorite author.
