Listful Thinking

Notes to Self: Life’s instructions not included

A weekend alone at her parents’ house (with way too much wine) could turn out to be a life-changing event for forty-two-year-old Cassie Quinn.

She discovers a journal she wrote in her early twenties, and as she relives her past she’s compelled to compile a list of her “hindsight’s 20/20” lessons for the younger women in her life—her teenaged stepdaughter, Becca, and her twenty-something coworker, Lexi.

She wades through cringe-worthy ex-boyfriends and miserable attempts at climbing the slippery corporate ladder, both of which unearth memories of meeting her husband, Luke. As Cassie develops an unexpected friendship with his ex-wife, she struggles to unleash her passion for art, banished to the back burner decades ago.

Cassie searches for the confidence to go after her lifelong dream now, knowing tomorrow isn’t promised. Could she once and for all stop wondering, What if . . . ?

Self-deprecating and relatable, Listful Thinking provides a walk down memory lane for those on the other side of twenty-something, while offering guidance and inspiration to those who have not yet been there and done that.

So relatable, draws you in and leaves you wanting more!

Loved this read! The character is a woman every 40-something-yr old feels like she either is or knows!! Loved the transformation of Cassie, found myself cheering her on, laughing at both her younger and present day self. Great read, recommend it to everyone!! Feel good story that leaves you wanting to follow in Cassie’s footsteps! Can’t wait for the next one, Kate!

Thought provoking

I expected this to be a quick little "easy" read. As I got into the story other character looking back at her life I was reminded of similar instances in my life and probably in most young women's lives. It got me thinking of choices we make and dreams we put on hold or talk ourselves out of. If only we knew then what we know now...

Riveting

Kate's first attempt at writing proves she should do it again and again. It kept me looking forward to turning the next page to see what will happen. There had better be another book.
