In this journey into second-chance love, author Cheryl Robinson invites us to ponder whether we would rekindle a romance with someone who had broken a promise to forsake all others.
Meet Ray and Sarita Saint. In 1987, they pledged to love, honor, and cherish each other until death. When Ray goes missing a year later, Sarita wonders whether he’s dead or alive. While she was dreaming of their happily ever after, Ray was exploring greener pastures, a new relationship. Sarita—a virgin until marriage—took her vows seriously and believed Ray did, too. Instead, he left their marriage and their life in Detroit to reinvent himself. Sarita always held out hope that he would return one day. And he does. It’s twenty-seven years later, and Ray is determined to find his one true love. What he discovers has him question everything he thought he knew about Sarita, as well as himself.
Cheryl currently resides in Florida. For the past sixteen years, she has been busy writing contemporary adult fiction. While writing is her first love, making delicious green smoothies is easily her second. She also enjoys spoiling her miniature Schnauzer and whipping up healthy meals from recipes she finds online.

"Ex-Ray" by Cheryl Robinson
My Thoughts....
I loved how this author starts out this second trilogy telling the reader what had gone on the the first book 'Until Ray.' However, I would highly suggest if you haven't read the first novel in the trilogy please do so to be able to get it all from a story that continues on.
Now how can I tell you about this story without telling too much. Well, all I can say is what will Ray find out after some twenty seven years that will really let him know just how big of a fool he had been leaving Sarita. From just that we see Ray wanting to make some drastic changes in his life. So, what will that be?
For Sarita her life has really been dealt with some many changes. After her husband had left her, what had happen in Sarita's life to give her some happiness in her life? After some twenty seven years had she married and if so who would it be? How and why will this Dr. Lex, Graham and Boone become so important in Sarita life?
What happens when Ray comes back to Detroit and looks for Sarita? Will his psychiatrist be able to help him? What surprises will Ray find out about Sarita from Miss King. What will Ray do when he finally sees Sarita? Will Sarita come running back into his arms and they live happily ever after?
Well, there are a lots of questions that will be answered and so much more will be learned from this novel "Ex Ray" but to get all these answers you will have to pick up this well written story to find out just what they are. I don't want to spoil it for you. At the ending of the story there is a little cliffhanger but again you will have to pick up this read and see for yourself what that was.
Overall, I found 'Ex-Ray' a well written story that touch on many subjects...marriage, separation, infidelity, adultery, secrets, lies and love even though it was in a strange way. For all that Ray had done to Sarita what kept me going was that I know karma will come and hopefully it will not be too late for him if it is truly for him to get Sarita back after all these years of separation. For Sarita I felt so sorry for her in all that she was going through. Has she learned anything from all that had happened to her in the past twenty some years? If anything ..if Raymond left her once could he be trusted not to leave her again?!
Well, the readers will hopefully get a well deserved answer to this situation between these two main characters in the last if the 'Until Ray Trilogy.' I look forward to its ending!
They say that a good book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. With that being the standard, this book was amazing! There was not so much action, but drama from start to finish. I mean, I get it, everyone has skeletons in their closets, but this felt like the Catacombs of Rome! This isn’t a bad thing; I was enthralled in the lives of these characters and really hated to see the book come to a close. So let’s jump into why I loved this book so much. I really wanted to hate the main character Ray. The author set him up as the perfect villain, even as we get into his story so I really tried to dislike him, but I couldn’t. Ray was likable, if not lovable! He was witty and as the story is told from his point of view, he strikes me as very elegant and chivalrous. He’s every bit the doting dad which adds to his appeal for me. Then there’s our heroin, Sarita, who felt like my little sister. She was innocent if not naive, but a fierce friend who loved hard and fought for those she loved. She’s a believer. Not just a believer in God, but she believed in love and in people, almost to a fault. Other characters in this book were equally as memorable. Boone who was loyal and protective, but there was something about him that I couldn’t get with. There’s also Sharon, who I wish I would have gotten to know more. It felt as if she was there one minute and gone the next. Perhaps the most memorable character to me was none other than Dr. Lex. This character surprised me and I was glad when he was no longer relevant, however, I can’t lie, I would have liked to see him be a little more than blip on the radar. This book moved and kept me interested from start to finish; I didn’t want to put it down. The pacing was good, I found the dialogue engaging, and the plot twists kept me guessing. There seemed to be a revolving door of characters in this book, but that didn’t confuse me at all. It was nice to see the natural progression of our main characters and their interaction with the other minor characters. The author moved across decades from chapter to chapter, but I didn't get lost in the movement. I was able to follow the shifts and see the characters clearly in each chapter. Ex-Ray is the second in the Until Ray Trilogy and the end is going to have me stalking the authors social media page looking for a release date for the final book in the trilogy. Now, I can say that I didn’t read Until Ray, the first in the trilogy, but it’s not really necessary to get through the second one. I definitely recommend this one; cover to cover great book well worth the time investment! I feel like there may be insight from that first book that I need in my life, so I can’t wait to dive into that one.
As the world turns and keeps on turning so does the lives of the characters throughout this trilogy. Ray made a decisions at an early age and that decision was the catalyst for all things moving forward. But to find out more than twenty years later that possibly the decision made might not have been the right one becomes too much to forget about. But as the reader continues to read you begin to wonder what if it was the right decision but the delivery was off. Ex-Ray is the story of first love, do you remember your first love? Are you both still together? I'm not going to tell you if Sarita and Ray stayed in love or how their story ends in Book two, but I will say love is a battlefield and a playground. Ray is Sarita’s first and in a specific way Sarita is his first. Here’s the thing about first loves we'd like to believe, you will always love them, they will stay with you forever; and first love, last love. Robinson did a great job writing this story of love and the possibility of second chances. The storyline flows and the supporting characters help Ray & Sarita advance in the story. This is one trilogy I’m totally excited about after reading Book One I couldn’t wait for Book Two, now Book Three com'on..
A complimentary copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for my thoughtful and honest review.
Ex-Ray, the second installment of the Until Ray Trilogy, kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed the first book, Until Ray, but Ex-Ray was amazing. Since reading the first book, I often wondered what happened to Sarita. I loathed Ray and hoped he would get revenge for the way he treated Sarita. I had no idea Robinson would give us so many twists and turns surrounding the breakup.
Robinson is at her best in Ex-Ray. Not only did I read the book with a smirk and a measure of satisfaction during Ray's chapters, but I also developed a smidgen of respect for Ray's mother, whom I hated in the first book. I can't get enough of these characters and look forward to reading the next installment. I have recommended the series to friends.
Where do I begin? As Book one ended, Ray had left Sarita. Now we really find out what happened. He left Sarita for another woman who was more his type. This book took me through so man emotions. Mainly at Sarita because she was so weak. But then Ray made me mad too. You promised not to hurt this woman, But you did a,nd when Karma came calling you wanted that old thing back. And even though Sarita made me mad enough to scream I'm still rooting for her. Sge just better not disappoint me. With that said, I enjoyed this book immensely. And can't wait for book three.
Will true love prevail? Oh-My-Gosh! What a difference a part two and "27 years" make! Ex-Ray has to be one of my favorite reads of 2018! The author started this book off with a bang and ended book 2 with a huge bang! So many unexpected twists and turns... all I have to say is when is part three releasing because I want it NOW! I definitely give this book 5 stars!!!
It was hard getting through this book. It seems the Arthur wrote it as she talks (not that I've ever heard her talk). The way the abusive Dr. and Sarita just seemed so unrealistic. I really would like to know what happens next between biological Father and Son but I don't think I could read the 3rd book, I may just ask someone who reads it to tell me what happens.
