Susan Hall is still resisting the notion that there may be paranormal creatures living amongst us, but as she works on three different leads, one of them with the head of Paranormal Activity Watch (P.A.W), Greg Lewis, the evidence becomes harder and harder to ignore. Life may soon become a lot more difficult for the other three flatmates.
I love reading these series! Susan and Jill... My thought would be geesh, why don't they just come out and let the world know about them! BUT all the turmoil makes for good books!
Loved this book. The characters are really forming now. Susan is getting confused by all sorts of things; and we're seeing more characters and more storylines running at the same time. I really do love Adele's writing. Wish I could think like that.
Favourite character still Manic. Charlie is struggling from so much female attention ! Neil is really determined to make mistake after mistake. Dorothy makes me laugh. The fairies are funny too. Charlie should definitely charge them rent !
Only one book left for me, but I hope Adele is writing more.
Susan is starting to run across more and more evidence that sups may be real after all so things are starting to heat up. Along with the antics of her sup flatmates, we get a visit with Jill Gooder and her grandmother from Ms. Abbot's other series. I was happy to see some old familiar characters; we even have a cameo appearance from Jill's nemesis in the toll booth. This series is definitely improving as we get more into it.
This one was more personal this time as the cases the investigative reporter is working on have her flatmates a little nervous. Susan does not believe it but what she is investigating touches on the paranormal. The book had a good story but it felt unfinished. No big headlines, hope the paper does not fold.
The are books need an ending I'd still read it i like the story but it's a little anoying.these books are short as it is so having no end is like reading a couple of chapters and having to wait for the rest of the book.
. So maybe we finish the story and give us a new one .solve these mysteries and give us a new story line.
Abbott never disappoints. I alwats enjoy reading about the various characters in the paranormal world of Candlefield. However, the main character, Susan is a nuisance. The more I get to know her, the more I dislike her. I don't know if Abbott developed this character this way deliberately. If she did, then all I can say is she did a great job!
Adele’s writing always entertains me. The stories are lighthearted and fun and this met my expectations. I love to laugh when I read and Adele delivers every time.
Our meetings with Susan are only just starting to pad out and I’m keen to see how her flat mates keep their secret.
Another winner from Adele Abbott! Her writings on the paranormal world existing alongside our own make it seem like a very real possibility! Love all her characters!
I like the characters they are funny and get into mischief. Susan is great at her reporting and I can't wait to see if she finds out about her room mates.
While i haven't added all of Adele Abbotts books to my goodreads I have very much enjoyed all of them! The Witch PI mysteries are a favorite and Susan Hall is a fun read as well.
I’ve been reading this series and I like that Jill from the other series is included at times. These books are thoroughly entertaining and a joy to read
This is book #3 in the spin off series (from Adele's Witch P.I. mystery series) and Susan is still in denial. She has agreed to work with the head of P.A.W. on an investigation, though which has her paranormal flat mates nervous...even Tobias! (Love that name.) This mini series is a great way to dip your toe into the paranormal universe if you're curious. Also, it's clean so safe to be read by younger readers. It's a combo of humor, drama, fun, and cozy. As the evidence starts to add up proving the possibility of paranormals living among them, Charlie, Neil and Dorothy grow more anxious. Charlie takes on a 2nd job and his boarding starlight fairies are causing some drama. His Pretty goes missing and the lady who he politely let know he was not interested in dating is being catty about it. We learn more about Neil's history and family dynamic and it gives us insight into why he toys with magic, but never really pursues it. Dorothy is still, well, Dorothy. She is far more likable in the Jill books, but she is still relatable in these. A few different things going on as far as leads and drama in this book, so it keeps you interested. Charlie is still my fave of the roomies, but Neil is endearing, too. Hope to see both make more of an appearance in the Jill Gooder series as I work my way through it - on audio so it's going slower than normal and I am stuck in the early 20s at moment.) Sadly, there is only 1 book after this for this fun spin off (only 4 were written, not sure why as there are over 40 in the original Jill Gooder series of books) so I am curious to see how it will all wrap up.
