Keep Me Safe was a standalone by Lucy Snow. I received an ARC for an honest review.
It was told with a double POV. Barrett was ex-military that worked for the most wealthy and largest employer in the city. He was becoming disenchanted with his work when he met Mallory.
Mallory had been unlucky in love. She had some old school thoughts about dating and finding her forever love. As such, she had been on many first dates and not so many second dates. She was wallowing in her own pity when her best friend convinced her to throw caution to the wind and consider letting go for one night, one night only. She saw Barrett and decided to test the waters.
The storyline started out explosive exhibiting chemistry between strangers. Snow then began to weave a story of crime, mystery and intrigue, developing a storyline of danger mixed in with how the lives of Barrett and Mallory intersected.
It was a quick, entertaining and suspenseful read. I look forward to seeing what Snow tackles next.

She is out for fun with a friend and instead of going home meets this hot, sexy alpha male. And what a night they have. But they don't expect to see each other again. But life gets in the way and he has to protect her now. What a great story. One you can't put down till the end. It is exciting, suspenseful, hot and steamy and so much more. I recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

This was a good story. Barrett ex military meets Mallory and both can’t stop looking at each other. They both thought it was for one night until Mallory sees something that she shouldn’t. Now Barrett is determined to keep her safe. I liked the banter between the couple especially while play board games lol. Great read with great characters.

She gives up the fight and goes out with her BFF, the BFF's boyfriend and the guy the boyfriend brings with. Mallory would much rather be at home reading, watching tv, anything but this. So when her bestie and her boyfriend head to the dance floor, and the friend leaves, Mallory is at the bar alone and getting ready to leave...that is until she spots a very hot sexy man, and he is maintaining eye contact while making his way directly to her.
This job is bee ess. Not wanting anything to do with his "boss" or the two girls his boss has for the night, Barrett decides to follow the orders given to him and go have some fun and to find someone to hook up with. He spots her standing at the bar, and he is a trance. They barely talk but they are speaking loud and clear to one another.
They don't really hold full conversations, but they are headed back to her place. This is unlike Mallory but she decides to chance it. Barrett is former military and this is an opportunity to do something he wants to at this moment. It is heated and it is smoking hot and awesome. Barrett sneaks out in the morning. Not wanting to leave but the phone message he had received calls him away. There is one thing on Barrett's mind and it isn't his job. Time happens, no real contact between the two, until a fateful early evening.
Paperwork completed for her boss, she decides to take it to the boss' boss. Only when she gets there some very horrible things have been taking place, and Mallory walks into a noise and the scene unfolding in front of her without being able to make out what is happening. Since Barrett was already there, delivering the "goods," he finds out that his one night girl works in that building, and he is now going to get his wish, at least partially and that is to spend more time with her.
Barrett uses his military training and quick thinking to get her safe and away from there, including his "boss." Mallory faints after realizing what has been happening and what she is a witness of, and she realizes that she is in grave danger. Barrett takes over and gets her to safety, for now. It all changes in a matter of seconds, Barrett leaves to run to the store for some food, and his phone rings. Mallory, after a few rings, answers it. Stunned and hurt but what she hears, she leaves. Before Barrett has a chance to tell her what really is happening, the worse case scenario starts unfolding, both are caught (separately,) and there is bad things happening and looming. Barrett is willing too give his life to save her, but he has a plan. It was started right after the capture.
A fight scene, the revealing of everything being caught on tape, Mallory proving she can save Barrett just as Barrett proves he is saving Mallory. lots of twists with turns that are a bit unexpected. However, this bumpy road leads to a smooth sail into their future together.

A Military Romance, with a fast-moving suspenseful feel, this storyline was interesting.
When Mallory is left to her own defenses at the club after the date, she was set up with is a bust the man who makes his way to her claiming her attention turns her drab evening into something out of the movies.Barrett, his suave persona, and mysterious ways lead to a night they both will not forget.
But not meant to be any more than a one nighter, they're both left with their memories, or so they thought.. until Barrett needs to take her life into his hands..
I am so glad to read from other reviewers they've enjoyed this book, and gotten along with it well!
I, unfortunately, did not connect well with it, I think the internal dialogue and some of the scenes were just too drawn out for my personal taste. ( a sex scene, I am all for foreplay. but good grief!) regardless of that, I do think that the characters themselves are well developed, the plot twists were intriguing and engaging and had a sweetness to it I adored.
As with anything, just because I was not able to get into this story well- does not mean others won't!
I would say check it out and see for yourself!

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Mallory and Barrett. Neither are looking for a full time commitment especially with the way they meet. They know they are looking for something though. So when Mallory gets involved in something that she shouldn't Barrett is the one to come to her rescue. Does this mean that they are meant to be something more or are they just both looking for more than either of them can give?
This is an amazing story that will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. There are some twists and turns that I really want to tell you about but don't want to ruin the book for anyone else. I will tell you that this is one of those books that you lock the door, kick everyone out of the house and not put it down until you read those last two words, the end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

An unplanned night out leads Mallory to so much more than just a night on the tiles! The double date is an epic fail but she does get to eye up the hottie at the bar.
Barrett knows what he wants and he wants Mallory! They don't even have a full conversation but they rapidly head in the direction of her place. Barret is a military veteran and used to planning every little detail but this is his chance to live in the moment. Mallory is also used to thinking about what she wants, not flying into the unknown.
When Mallory inadvertently gets involved in her boss' plans, Barrett is on hand to save her...and get another chance to see her. There are a few miscommunications and wild assumptions made and Mallory lands in danger yet again. But can Barrett save her this time?
Lots of twists and turns and I loved the fact that Mallory did some saving of her own! Barrett is panty melting hot and I'd gladly be his for the night!

I loved the new one from Lucy Snow! Two opposites have a magical night and that should have been the end of, at least they think, but life has different plans. Barrett lives his life, since his career in the military, in the gray area while Mallory lives her life by the rules. They meet by chance in a club and their night together leaves an impact on them both, but both figure they will never see the other again. That is until the night Mallory walks into a nightmare when she walks into her boss's office and Barrett is there to save her. What follows for them is a drama filled fight to make it out on the other side. And while they fight for their lives they grow closer than they thought was possible. Even when their faith in the other may be tested they just come out stronger. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Romantic Suspense is one of my favorite genres to read, especially when they include sexy military men. Keep Me Safe is a great addition to this genre. It held my attention and kept me guessing throughout. I loved Barrett with his quiet, watchful ways. He was sweet, sexy and surprising (his love of board games made him even more endearing). I love, love, love Lucy Snow. I fell in love with her with her Alpha Ballers Series and it is so nice to see her back with this great military themed romance. Mallory and Barrett are two people who have insta-chemistry in a bar and leads to a one night stand. Both are left reeling but not expecting more than one night - that is until Mallory finds herself in a sticky situation and Barratt unexpectedly turning up to protect her.
I enjoyed the interactions between these two and although not my favourite by Lucy, this one is still a really good read to while away an afternoon with and you certainly won't regret adding this to your TBR pile. I look forward to more from Lucy.

Mallory has gone to a club with her friend Kelly but her night isn't going as planned so she decides to leave, when a sexy mysterious man approaches her. Barrett is tall, dark and handsome and totally into her on first sight, it can only be a one night thing their lives are too different so why not have some amazing fun........ Barrett's job is dangerous, he's a hired assassin and can't have any complications, as much as he finds himself wanting to spend more time with her he leaves her the next morning without a word. Imagine Barrett's surprise when he's unexpectedly reunited with Mallory in his bosses office and she is witness to a murder so they run.............. he needs to protect her. This is full of steamy scenes, action packed and heart stopping stuff, loved it.

A random hook up and the best sex of her life stays on her mind even though she will probably ever see him again. As she goes about her life a big bang knocks her world off axis and back into his arms. A great story with plenty of heat between these two and lots of action. Told from duel perspective without being repetitive it's an easy read that was suspenseful enough to keep you turning the pages.

If you like romantic suspense, then this is a book for you. This book is a standalone. There is violence The sex is hot and steamy so definitely 18+.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat all of that info here. The storyline is predictable but still able to keep your attention.

The attraction between Barrett and Mallory was instant. One night to remember. When something happens and Mallory finds herself in trouble her mystery man comes to the rescue. Barrett knows he should stay away from her but now he needs to keep her safe. I enjoyed this story of danger and plenty of steamy attraction and a HEA.

When Mallory and Barrett meet in a club, there is an instant explosive chemistry between them. This is a wonderful storyline, which had me captivated throughout, as well as on tenterhooks, as this is a thrilling and exciting storyline. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers.

I loved reading the awesome and amazing military romance. Mallory and Barrett spend an intense and off the charts evening together. When Mallory witnesses a murder, Barrett comes to her rescue. When Mallory gets a mysterious call, she's on the run for her life again and doubts Barrett's true intents. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read love story.

This was one of those books that you read in one sitting, you just can't put it down. It was really well written and I just loved the characters Barrett and Mallory, they had such a hot storyline. I voluntarily read an ARC copy of this book for my honest review.

Mallory is at Club Vapor with her friend Kelly. She's about to call it a night when a mysterious, sexy man approaches. Barrett is tall, dark and gorgeous and he's all up on Mallory. Mallory is hooked instantly, not her usual m.o., but he's so totally worth the exception. She normally would never be charmed by a total stranger this way, let alone leave the club with one, but she did....and it would be a night to remember.
That was all it was supposed to be; all it could be. Barrett's job is dangerous. He can't afford a complication like Mallory and she would definitely be a complication. As much as he would love to spend more time with her, it isn't meant to be especially when he left her high and dry the morning after. Barrett is a hired gun. A mercenary. Mallory, well he didn't really know much about her. They didn't really talk much that night. But imagine Barrett's surprise when he is unexpectedly reunited with Mallory under the absolute worst possible circumstances.
