“Remember that actions have consequences, boy.” The Calamity changed the world completely as gods, created by the six, battled for control of the World. The creators ended the war by exterminating the god’s children that fought for power. With the gods now banished from the world, the mortal race had to fend for themselves. Centuries later, Weaver Rizer is born in the capital city of Ellipsis. Due to his father's unexpected death, Weaver and his mother are left to run a brothel in his place. Under the same mysterious circumstances, his Mother dies some years later. But instead of closure, he only received more questions. He receives a living stone that embeds itself into his skin. With the new stone and his best friend’s sudden resignation, Weaver begins to lose his grasp on life. When Weaver challenges the wrong man, it causes the destruction of everything he once knew. He then learns, he only meant to deliver the stone to another. He travels across Ellipsis, towards a rebellion that might hold the key to keeping a restless god from awaking. But it will also lead to his death, foretold by the god of Ellipsis himself.
Jacob is currently 30 years old and resides in Texas. He has two noisy children. He started writing in 2005 but never really got past the first outline of a book. Over the years it had remained in the back of his mind of these worlds he wanted to create and share. Not all of you will like them. Some might love them some not but he hopes for each group we can use it as a glance into another place.
The author has created a really rich world. Fantasy fiction lovers dream. Characters are really well delveloped and they have a certain depth to their personality. This is especially true for the protagonist Weaver. The plot is slow to pick up but keeps you glued to the book as it progresses. The book ends in a cliff hanger and I will definitely be getting the next book in the series.
Well the book was a blast for me as much as my view is concerned.I loved it a lot though the start was a little bit slow but the base of this book gave a good ending to it.
A new author for me and a new style of storytelling. I was not sure if I liked this book in the beginning as it was rather hard to make sense of, the longer I read the more I found I was enjoying the book. I’m now reading book two. Try it for yourself you be pleased you did.
Ellipsis is an interesting book written by Jacob L White. The author creates a new world that is based on the creators and contains quite a lot of magic. He has a vivid imagination, being able to fabricate an entire world, which I find difficult. What peaked my interest in this book was the unique concept of it all.
The problem I had with it however was that it was rather slow. It took almost the first 20% of the book to get to anything paranormal really, and then it was only a short appearance of the mages. I think the reason the book is so slow is because the author does a lot of character development of Weaver, probably a little bit too much in my opinion, which at some point can make it feel like it is dragging out. The plot overall is very well developed and interesting, I just wish it wasn't as dragged out as it is, mostly due because of the inner monologue of sorts that happens with Weaver, the conflict he seems to have non-stop. I get it, he is going through a tough time but at some point one has to focus on the actual story and move along in the plot. There are also some editorial errors such as typos, missing words or misused words that should be fixed, that took away from this being an amazing book.
Weaver is an amazing guy. He will and does anything for the ones he loves, even if it will cost him his life. He is clearly conflicted by what is going on in his life and torn by the women that support him 100%. He has some amazing friends that also support him however they can!
All in all I think this book has incredible potential just needs a little tweaking, at least in my opinion. The book ended on a huge cliff hanger. With all that being said, I do want to know what will happen next so when the next one comes out I do want to read it!
I have received this book from the author for an honest review. (LoP, Lovers of Paranormal)
I was delightfully surprised by the fully-developed, well thought-out characters in this novel. I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in this book. Author successfully takes the theme of the story to new levels with unique view points and intelligent plot twists. I tend to be a fairly critical reader when it comes to this genre, so I really appreciate the balance of the book - suspense, thrill, and just great story-line to make it appealing without being over the top. By far, the best part of the book is its characters. Brought to life through great dialogues. I'm very much looking forward to more books from this author.
Love the book! A lot of potential in this series. I'm not into fantasy books, but this one caught me by suprise! From the characters to the setting is something you must read ASAP!
I loved the story; especially the characters, Weaver, Les, and Anna. The author has a brilliant imagination. This is a wonderful fantasy story; so good that I began to think of it as reality. Really looking forward to reading Book Two. Those who are into fantasy and romance, buy this book - well worth the money.
This story is full of surprises and the character development keeps you on your toes! I am really excited about this series and cannot wait to read the rest!
