Rate this book
Levi is a badger shifter, an alpha’s son, and a carrier. The fact that he can get pregnant is a secret, and his family risks a lot by keeping it.

He needs to find a husband and get married as soon as he can if he doesn’t want the council to take him and make that decision for him. He agrees to meet Dimitri Marson, the son of the bear alpha. Dimitri is the best candidate for Levi’s cete, but when Levi meets him, he realizes he’s not for him.

Dimitri doesn’t understand why Levi pushes him away. They might not be in love, but they both know getting married is what’s best for the sleuth and the cete, and for Levi. Besides, Dimitri is handsome and rich, something anyone would want. Right?

When his mother points out how much of an idiot he’s been, Dimitri tries to make amends. Levi gives him a second chance, but their union might end before it even starts. Someone is trying to kill Dimitri, and they’re not stopping for anything.

Will Dimitri manage to save himself? And if he does, will Levi really give him another chance to show him they really can work well together?

Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.
She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.
She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

This was the first book in a new series too me. Levi Steele is a badger shifter, an Alpha’s son, and a carrier. The fact that he can get pregnant is a secret, and his family risks a lot by keeping it. He needs to find a husband and get married as soon as he can if he doesn’t want the council to take him and make that decision for him. Dimitri Marson is an Alpha male bear shifter and next inline to takeover for his Alpha father. When his father tells him its time for him m to take a mate he agrees to go out with Levi. Dimitri comes off as a first class jerk who thinks he is God's gift to man or women and I was glad that Levi put him in his place. I also liked that his mother slapped him upside the head for being so arrogant. I also liked that Levi showed him that wasn't week and that he can take care of himself. When Levi is out on a date Dimitri shows up to apologize and ask for another chance he doesn't like what Levi tells him but he agrees. Levi and his other date Seamus becomes friends someone is trying to kill Dimitri while out on another bad date he is attacked and Levi comes to his rescue and the end up having sex in the park. This was a good read from an author that I have read before. This book well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

My friend warned me that I probably wasn’t going to like this book. She knows me pretty well and after reading the sample said that Dimitri was a pretty unlikeable character. She was right he was. What I didn’t expect was for Levi to be pretty unlikeable too. I realize that Dimitri was pretty full of himself and arrogant, but Levi wasn’t much better. While Dimitri changed over the course of the book, Levi got worse IMO. Especially at the end. I can’t go into details because of spoilers but what he did at the end really upset me. Especially after all his talk about being partners with Dimitri, he didn’t really treat him like one. The only reason, I’m giving this book three stars is I liked the side characters and want to read more about them.

Really sweet story

This is not your typical Alpha/Omega romance. It wasn't love at first sight but I think that made for a better story. The Alpha was a good man with the best intentions but he was also arrogant and over confident. The carrier (omega) had a little bit of a chip on his shoulder because he was different and didn't want to be. They managed to work it out after several set backs and attempted murder. Don't worry, they still got their HEA.

WARNING - UNPOPULAR OPINION - WARNING!
Ugh!
I just couldn't stand the main characters.
One was full of himself and while he got better towards the end it still bothered me. The other was a whiny brat that sat on his high horses throughout the whole story making everyone do what he wanted because he was soooo special!
At least that was how I saw them and it might have colored my reading slightly.

Other than terrible MCs the read itself was OK. I just had a hard time with both Levi and Dimitri.

2.5 rated up to 3 ⭐️ because it could be a 3 star for someone else but the main characters just annoyed me a lot, not the characters themselves perse they were nicely written even if I at some point found them annoying- but their interactions and especially their relationship development irked me… it just was too fast, too “I cannot believe this I wouldn’t be in love this fast after hating someone” especially after the (niceee!) buildup with the “I won’t marry you ahole cause im my own person” vibe!

I liked this book because it's not your typical story of this genre with lots of steamy sex and no development of the characters. Here, in this book, we see how Levi and Dimitri work for their relationship and make it work. I just wished we had seen more of a fight with the bad guys at the end, the conflict with them came to an end too fast and almost easily, from my perspective.
However, it's a book that I'll recommend, that I'll definitely read a second time and with a very sweet ending ☺️
