To Have, To Hold, To Protect

For as long as she can remember, Juliet Brown has craved her freedom. Lured into the snare of a drug kingpin at a young age, she's been beholden to his every whim since her teenage years. When she does escape, however, she finds that freedom is only the first step to healing her wounded soul. The quickest path to her salvation seems to be cooperating with the FBI to put her Ex behind bars - and end any threat he poses. When she's paired with a foul-mouthed freelance agent with a chip on his shoulder, she begins to question the choices she's made. She's undeniably drawn to Hank Compton's rugged allure, but he's got armor five inches thick and a nasty streak a mile wide. There's no way a man like him can possibly be anything but trouble...is there?

Hank has always liked things simple. Over the course of a life filled with violence, he's learned not to care. Caring makes you weak, and weakness gets you killed. When the newest assignment from his superior offers him the ultimate revenge, he jumps at the chance - even if it comes with some pretty substantial baggage. Juliet Brown is everything he's wary of - gorgeous, smart-mouthed, and undeniably damaged - and that only makes him want her more. Hank is long past the point of believing he can be saved, but Juliet promises to be more than just a distracting piece of ass. She could very well be his salvation - and that scares the hell out of him.

Hello,

So this is the part were I'm supposed to talk about myself. I write so many stories but I often I have a hard time telling my own. Funny how that works.

My name is Cristina Grenier and I have been writing stories for as long as I could remember . I'm a sucker for romance. I draw from past experiences and from others around me when I write. I enjoy creating characters that everyone can relate to.

Besides writing, I also enjoy painting and figure drawing. I'm a bit of a homebody, my ideal night consists of a chilled bottle of wine, some pasta and Netflix. I really hope you enjoy the stories I create. If you want to keep updated on my new releases and frequent FREE book giveaways, please subscribe to my email group at www.cristinagrenier.com

Juliet is a prisoner of her own youthful mistakes. She falls for a monster with fast cash and a whole lot of sweet nothings whispered in her ear. Before you know it, Solomon Aguilar has managed to alienate her from her family and friends. He keeps her locked up because he likes to own pretty things -- Juliet included. When an opportunity presents itself for her to escape, she risks it all for freedom. Freedom has its own issues if you have nowhere left to go. A pawn in a bigger game played by the FBI, Juliet is asked to tell all she knows about The Aguilar Family in exchange for a new beginning. Before the ink is dry on the agreement she's being judged and accused by the angry bodyguard assigned to her, Hank Compton. Close proximity either breathes contempt or a fire that burns very brightly and very hot. There is no epilogue included in this story.

This story surprised me in a good way. It's well told and a departure from what has been written in the past by this author.

Whew

This by far is the best book from this author. It had me nervous from beginning to end. Hank and Julie don’t have a fairytale relationship but one that has to damaged people willing to put each other first.

I'll Always 💘Love You...🎵
ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review.

Young Nightclub singer, Juliet💃🎵, is bowled over after her first night of singing by Solomon Aguiler, a handsome mobster. He makes Juliet💃🎵 feel special until she moves in with him, then he turns into a controlling, mean, monster👹🔫🔪.
Five years pass, and Juliet💃🎵💔 wants to leave but she knows Solomon👹🔫🔪 or his men will catch her and probably kill her if she runs.
One day just before a big party is to start, the mansion is attacked by a rival gang and a lot of people in both sides are killed. Juliet💃💔 sees her chance and makes a run for the gates, but she's shot🔫 twice by Solomon👹🔪🔫, and almost dies.
The FBI is all over her to find out what she knows and if she knows something that will help put Solomon👹🔫🔪 and his family away. Juliet💃💔 will be put into the witness protection program.
Agent Hank Compton🐺🍆🌋🔫 will be her handler in the witness protection program. He very reluctantly accepts the assignment. He doesn't want to be a👶 babysitter! He thinks Juliet💃💔 is more of an accomplice than a victim.
Juliet💃💔 thinks Hank🐺🍆🌋🔫 looks more like a soldier for the Aguilers than he does an FBI agent.
The Aguiler brothers were not found among the dead, so Juliet💃💔 knows shes in mortal danger of she tries to leave the hospital and go on her own.
Hank🐺🍆🌋🔫 to the rescue!
He's a big, bad, tatted up, possessive🔫, naaasssty sex toy🍆🌋 for Juliet!💃💋
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎

I had a little problem with Juliet's gunshot🔫 wounds. She's taken to the safe house without much thought as to who will be dressing the wounds. Then we dont find out she's a woman of color until about 40% if the way through the book. I liked the book a lot and I couldn't put it down! There were just a few discrepancies that left me wondering.

Night club singer Juliet no idea what she was getting into when she got involved with Solomon Aguiler when she was eighteen. Solomon is a mobster used to getting what he wants and Juliet is his latest possession. Juliet realizes too late what she's got herself into but no there's no easy escape from her prison. Then one day amidst gunfire she tries to escape only to have Solomon come out of no where and when she breaks away its only for him to shoot her several times before she gets away. When she awakens its to the FBI asking questions. Juliet agrees to help them if they will protect her from Solomon. Agent Hank Compton hates anyone associated with the Aguiler family. Hank has a good reason behind his hate but he never counted on Juliet. When he learns what she went through everything changes and he sees himself falling for her. Can Juliet bring down the Aguiler family? Will Hank and Juliet make it safely out of the mess and have a relationship?

This was a great story I couldn't stop reading until I was at the last page. The characters have amazing chemistry but its builds up. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves to lose themselves in a great love story. A five star read.

Big ole tough bodyguards can call in love too!

They were two broken people who did not like each other at first meeting. They were thrown together with a common agenda and that was to take down the Aguiler drug family. Solomon Aguiler was responsible for the heart break in both FBI Agent Hank Compton and Juliet Brown. It was not until Juliet revealed her ordeal with Solomon over the past 10 years did Hank's attitude soften towards her enough to do the same. In doing do, they found themselves falling in love with each other so much so, that they were willing to sacrifice their own life to insure that the other lived.

I love The way Christine writes. This story had enough drama, suspense, action and romance to keep me reading non stop. This story held my attention from beginning to end.

Okaaay....

I loved the premise of this story and felt for Juliet when in her youthful hubris ( aka stupidity ) she allowed herself to be taken in by that prick Solomon. I was okay until the part where Juliet convinced two FBI agents to take her from the safe house to the store. Say what?!?😠 WTH?!? How could she be soooo reckless & dumb!!! Yes there was a Fox in the Hen house..But still! WTF!?! Damn..my empathy with her just tanked.
That fiasco ruined it for me and I couldn't get past that. The overall story arc & Hanks' character are why I gave the 3 star rating instead of a two. The ending seemed a little rushed and anticlimactic; which to me points
to a sequel perhaps? Hmmm....😑

This is the 1st book I’ve read and reviewed for Cristina Grenier and I absolutely loved it. This is the story of Juliet and Hank. Juliet is the girlfriend of a drug dealer and Hank is a FBI agent. Hank has been assigned to take down Juliet’s boyfriend, Juliet gets abused by her boyfriend and that makes Hank furious so he gets Juliet to help him take her boyfriend down. I loved the characters, the storyline and the sizzle between Juliet and Hank is fantastic. I recommend this book it’s well worth the read.

This book was a beautiful blend of danger, acceptance, recovery, obsession, determination and especially the discovery of love.if possible I'd give it a temporary star as I found the Bodyguard extremely entertaining, the cast of characters were quite believable, with a fast acting story, which kept me on my toes and unable to put it down. While juliet and hank were both "damaged", they were just which each needed to be complete, if they can manage to survive. I received this book as an arc and voluntarily am submitting my review.

Juliet Brown has longed for an escape from her abusive boyfriend for years. Hank has had a drive to take out the crime boss who murdered his sister. Together they can achieve both. Will Juliet be able to break past Hank's walls? Will Hank be able to help them both overcome their pasts?

This book hints at dark things, but you cannot help but love both main characters. Hank had a dark past, but one she was able to break past his walls you could see him slowly reveal the loyal, loving man. Juliet was a lot stronger than she thought and she proved that bad things can happen to good people. Upbringing didn't matter to either. Good read!

This is by first read by this author and I’m looking forward to reading more of her work. This story has drama, a bit of darkness, heat, suspense and also sweetness intertwined. The main characters are great and their initial love/hate relationship was raw and natural. I would have loved an extended epilogue later in the timeline to see the result of the case and also an ultimate HEA.
I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.

Wow...this is one dark, gutsy, shocking yet amazing read! Parts of it are extremely tense and may trigger unpleasant memories, etc in those who have experienced the horrific abuse that Solomon Aguiar subjected Juliet to for years. What a complicated piece of literature has been gifted to us by Cristina Grenier. You really need to give this book a read...it’s amazing. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was blown away.)

I really enjoyed reading this one. I don't think I've ever read anything by Cristina Grenier before. I wasn't disappointed either. The plot was interesting and different. The story-line flowed smoothly throughout. The characters were well-developed and easily relatable for me. The chemistry was there. It just wasn't explosive. It just built up over time. I was glad to see they got their HEA at the end.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

I enjoyed Juliet and Hank's story. And what a story it was...it was full of action, drama, and of course love. Though I admit, I was annoyed with Juliet, constantly breaking cover. And the same for Hank, blowing his cover as well. I figured he should have known better being a Federal agent and all. But overall, it was a great read. I voluntarily read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is an intense, heart stopping, amazing read. From the very beginning, the adventure these two are surrounded by is gut wrenching and chaotic. When they finally give into one another, it's a beautiful thing. I cannot wait to read more by this author. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Very Well Done

This was a well done romance novel. Good dialogue between Hank and Juliet; action, suspense and excellent intimate scenes. Nice plot and excellent ending. Hank stayed true to his gruff demeanor and Juliet rose above her past to become a strong force of nature.

Well done.

Prisoner no more

This book had an interesting, but somewhat predictable storyline. The characters were intriguing and there was great editing. There was plenty of drama, suspense and HOT to keep me engaged. I'm glad that Juliet was able to come out stronger in the end and Solomon got what was coming.

Good

Hank and Juliet were both damaged with wounds that needed healing. They both were likeminded with their goal. Too bad that neither seemed to care much for the wake of damage they left to others that were protected them.

This was actually pretty good except for the ending. The ending was abrupt and gave no inkling how their HEA would actually be possible given Hank's profession. I kind of wish this was an ongong series. 4 stars!

Quite enjoyable.

It was a nice read. The author could have fleshed out the character of the h as to why she accepted a very dysfunctional relationship. The H motivations were delved into so his behavior was understood. HEA needs work...even so it was a nice read.
