Seriously, you really would expect a warrior angel sent from God to keep his word, wouldn't you? Well not this one. Not today. Today Sam and his crew are on their own.
So when the "him" they swear to "keep safe" turns out to be none other than the infant Jesus of Nazareth...
... and the thing they must keep him safe from is no less than a murderous army of razor-taloned monsters spawned from the very pits of Hell...
... well then, now Sam and his two best buds have got themselves one soul-chilling, diaper-filling, impending apocalypse of a problem.
SAVIOURS DAY Three bruvs. One baby. Thirty million demons.
STRANGER THINGS meets THE DA VINCI CODE in a pulse-pounding, jaw-slackening urban fantasy adventure.
Lewis Kinmond lives in deepest, darkest Scotland with his wife, two daughters, three chickens, and one dog. Originally from an acting background (where he had a different name altogether), Lewis spent sixteen years in theatre, during which he appeared in many London west-end musicals. Later (and still under another name), he moved on to writing comedy, drama, and animation for UK television, contributing scripts to many globally-acclaimed series, including Academy Award Winning productions from both Aardman Animation and the BBC. Now turning his hand to writing fiction, Lewis’s first novel, SAVIOURS DAY, a young adult urban fantasy, was indie-published in December 2017.
Time-travelling babies. Magical swords. Demons in Santa hats ...
Looking for a 'Christmassy' read that isn't full of romance and sentimental tosh? Looking for a festive read that's spellbinding, heart stopping, action packed, funny, poignant and, perhaps best of all, unique? Look no further.
The memorable story of three teenage friends; three 'bruvs' tasked with the job of keeping a baby (and not just any baby) safe from the encroaching Darkness that threatens all of mankind.
Very much of the opinion that just because I did/didn't enjoy a book it doesn't mean to say that you will, I tend not to recommend books; merely to chronicle and share my thoughts on them BUT ...
One of my favourites of 2018; in fact I'd even go as far as to say its in my top three. Saviours Day is a super story, the characters (three 'misfit's) of which absolutely stole my heart; I could rave about it until, as my nana would say, the cows came home

Absolutely loved this, had a good omens-y vibe but it's absolutely original at the same time, just similarly quirky and fun. Would definitely read more from this author.
I was given an advance copy of this book and I absolutely loved it. Saviours Day is thrilling, funny, surprising, contemporary, cool, unexpected and totally gripping. I had to read the last half in one go cause I just couldn't put it down, the author is so inventive and writes so clearly you can see the fantastic scenes unfolding before your eyes as you read. It's a total joy to read, in fact it's a must read for anyone 12 upwards.
Congratulations you just found the best Christmas book ever
One cold Christmas night, Christmas eve to be exact, three teens found themselves standing in front of an Angel. The Angel literally dumped a baby on them before disappearing. His words “I will return for him” where the last thing they heard
Not knowing what to do with the little bruv, Sam and his friends do the right thing, and call the cops. that is until….. any adult that gets near the child turns in to a Demon. Sam and his friends are shocked, yes, but somehow manage to fend them off. Now wanted for injuring the cops with salt they move across London and helped by a girl; Perdita helps them piece together the clues as the police chase them down. But are they too late? Has the darkness won? Is Christmas lost? Well, you will just have to read it to find out.
I loved this book so much; I haven’t laughed this much in a while. the last scene in the book filled me with what I can only describe as hope. And after last year, I think we all need a bit of that. All the characters are well defined, Sam, L, Man and Rabbit, each have a role to play, they had a solid friendship, Yes, it might be a little early but add this one to your Christmas reads you won’t be disappointed. I mean Daemons in Santa hats you can’t miss that can you?
When I first saw the specific way in which the author chose to handle language in this book, I was very concerned. Choosing to write 'with an accent' is incredibly difficult and most authors who try it fail spectacularly.
But Lewis Kinmond manages it. As someone from SE London (I currently live IN Walworth) a false tone would have been very evident to me and might have ruined the book but the author gets it right, carrying the story along perfectly in a consistent and believable (hey, it's believable in a fantasy setting, OK!) manner and establishing himself as someone with a potentially bright future as a writer.
The overall story works well enough, the characters are engaging and likeable and basically it works. I'll be looking out for more books by Lewis Kinmond and I recommend him to anybody who likes humorous fantasy.
I have to admit, I was a bit reluctant when someone recommended this book to me. I am far from a religious person, but as an indie author myself, I thought I would go ahead and give it a try. While the British slang threw me a bit, overall I found myself engrossed in a truly unique and endearing story of three teenage boys faced with an insurmountable challenge. The characters are well fleshed-out and even a bit complex at times. There were moments that made me smile and even laugh and a few that made my heart race. I found myself rooting for these characters more and more as their story progressed. Saviors Days a truly heartwarming story and a very unique take on a tired, ages-old tale. I even encouraged my 12 year old daughter to read it. Highly recommend.
I've had this book a while and have only just got round to reading it.
I loved it - the premise, the characters, the pace, no dilly dallying, just the story told simply and in glorious technicolour!!
You very quickly get to know the characters and you route for them all the way. I usually read fantasy 'series' but it was a refreshing change to read a fast paced, stand alone novel.
The author's imagination is wonderful and his approach to the Christmas story very entertaining. It made me smile one minute and want to cry the next - the hallmark of a good story-teller!
Thank you for writing and sharing this with us, it will stay in my memory where so many others fade.
Oh my goodness! This book was outrageously fun! Being from the area a book is based, is always enjoyable to read, but this? This was something else. It had me on the edge of my seat, and belly laughing at all the right places. I know these boys (not literally) I have known them for many years, and their personalities are perfect. I honestly couldn't recommend this book highly enough. Loved it. Truly wonderful breakout novel. Read it, you won't be disappointed.
What a read! Great for young and old (I'm 63). Youngsters will be easily able to identity with the main characters. Personally, I found the entire plot fascinating. I look forward to more good reads from this superb writer. Thank you Lewis Kinmond.

To start I'm terrible at reviews. I just don't have the words . But this story started out ruff for me because the names were unfamiliar the slang a little strange. But I was hooked by the friendship, loyalty of the boys. The vagueness of the story line that kept pulling you along. The thrill ride . And the Christmas story ending . Highly recommend this book, if you don't mined loosing sleep . I couldn't put it down!
This book blew me away the writing was excellent and it's been a while since a book made me emotional. Don't want to spoil the story but a fantastic twist on the Christmas story and hearing Jesus being referred to as little bruv made me smile. I read a lot of stories but this one is worth the read and I sincerely recommend it to any readers.
This book was totally different from my usual books. I usually read crime and psychological thrillers . I downloaded a sample to see whether I like it . Few pages into it I knew I would buy it . I have not been able to put it down . The book is remarkable and highly recommended
A magical story if ever I read one. Filled with the most extraordinary imagination and visual clarity. Read from cover to cover in one go. Absolutely loving the characters, but the sense of hope and wonder this book gives you, in these difficult times, well, have a read for yourself.
As I started reading this novel, I wasn't sure if I'd be reading it to the end but it was very fast-paced, exciting and amusing as well as quite moving and I read it in one sitting. The characters were very endearing and I feel that this would make a terrific film.
Great first book bruv! Action packed, characters that made me laugh out loud & the fact that you brought a wide range of diversity with them all, 👌👌👌 kudos dude! Thanks for taking us along. Anxiously awaiting your next book😻
Fantastic story, could not put it down ,. Loved the characters . Builds and builds to a fast paced amazing ending . In my minds eye I could see a Steven Speilburg movie spectacular . Thank you . I hope these guys have more adventures !
I was so tired of this genre. But this story was an interesting take on teenager as hero. I really enjoyed it! Intense and exciting story, unusual characters.
Amazing book, a fantasy with a face paced story. It grabs you right from the start. I read it in two nights which is unusual for me. Looking forward to Lewis’s next book
