Young readers are placed in the driver's seat of a fantasy ride that takes them up a steep mountain road, into a crowded farmyard, through a tunnel leading to the city, underwater, and across the finish line at a car race.
This book is a fun exploration of some terrible driving. I read this with a group of two-year olds and their parents. Some of the humor was lost on these little kids, but it was fun to make the sounds and the motions. I found the book funny, which made it fun for me to read.
Probably better as a lap book, but the noises and motions could also be fun for a group of preschoolers. I don't love the page that reads, "STOP! Always do what the policewoman says. Even if she points you straight into a roaring car race!"
