Recommended for DC history buffs, wide-breadth dive into the various ethnic and other population groups that have helped make the District into what is today.

Presented as a series of academic journal articles, though the collection is well-curated and not difficult to read (each section is ~15-25 pages).

Populations of focus: Native Americans, African Americans (four distinct time periods of focus), Irish Germans, Italians, Greeks, Jewish , Chinese, white Nouveau-Riche, Latinos, Koreans, various African and Carribbean, and Southeast Asian.

4/5 - fascinating for interested readers, can be a bit dry at times
