I remember reading several John Benton books growing up. Encouraging stories about the saving power of Jesus Christ. Now, going back and re-reading one of his books now as an adult who went through some of her own trials and tribulations, I thank God for the seeds these books sowed into my young mind about the forgiveness and love of Jesus.
This books is filled with suspense, rejection, hurt, and betrayal...but ultimately the gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
I had never heard of these books before now. I saw Pins of the John Benton books over on Pinterest and decided to read one. It's a very rough read and quite awful. Lori comes from a bad family and suffers from abuse. She tries to commit suicide, gets in a mess of other troubles and being naive gets trapped into prostitution and is also raped and viciously beaten and almost murdered. The misery continued until about 70% when Lori is introduced to the Bible and Jesus. From this point forward there is some hope and a light at the end of the tunnel for this unfortunate girl.
This book is so precious. It shows how your life is without knowing God and how it is when you ccept God in your life! I am a 14 year old christian and i think everyone should read this. Just because i rated it a 3 stars, it dosent mean that it is bad. I still think people should read it. It is easy to read and a short book. You will not regret.
