Arachne is considered the best weaver in the country. But, she is too much of a show off person, she catches Athena's attention at the time the woman challenges the goddess to a competition.
Although the mortal is the winner of the contest, Arachne is punished by Athena with a sad curse.
This version of Arachne's myth is really engaging for kids, but I always like to mention the differences that are possible to spot when reading other versions.
Sad, but... We do enjoy some mischief in stories!
