This book was exactly what I needed to hear at this time of waiting for Holy Spirit to direct me on launching my business. Very encouraging. Expect God to speak to you!
I have owned my own business for 11 yrs. I was trying to start my business while working for someone else. And a friend said Dawn you will never see how high God can make you soar if you do not let go of the cliff. I did, I was a single mom and going to school full time and it was the scariest thing I had ever done. My business is growing rapidly right now. And I struggle with taking in to much and God reminding me that He only called me to work 4 days a week. Then when bills are do I freak out and over do. It has been here recently that God had been showing me how to work in grace and I am finally letting go. Then a friend recommended your book and I felt it was a huge confirmation to what God was giving me already and great steps and questions to chew on and remind myself with. Thank you so much
I discovered Shae Bynes and her book, Grace Over Grind, when a friend suggested I listen to a podcast called Kingdom Driven Entrepreneurs. I am beyond grateful for Shae's wisdom and insight in both her book and her podcast. She has confirmed what I have believed for a long time - it's not our hustle that makes the biggest waves, it is being still and knowing that He is God when the ripples from our heartbeats impact the world the most. Father God, I WILL delight in You! Thank you for working thru Shae to touch my life in a simple yet profound way!
I found Grace over Grind to be an encouraging read.
"avoid making an idol out of hard work and mistaking your identity as being in your work or your achievements versus in Jesus Christ." - Quote -
Shae tells.us many stories.from her own life where giving up that control we often seek in our business dealings and giving it to God frees us to serve him in lasting ways. She shares the stories of others who have found God ease these burdens and replace them with his love.
We don't have to strive or grind our way through our work, but remain faithful. Amen.
I am in the beginning stages of creating my business and heard about this book from a fellow coach. Wow! It is just what I needed. There is so much noise out there telling you to do 5 million different things and it can be overwhelming! This book opened my eyes to the idea that God is my CEO and to have business meetings with him...not all these gurus online. That if I listen to Him and follow His path than I will be successful.
I have been a believer all of my life but, I am currently in a deeper walk and relationship with God and putting him first and in every single step of my business. This book was absolutely amazing. I love how almost everything she said was referencing back to a scripture in the Bible just to reassure you her words were in fact, facts and not opinion or solely based on experience.
Grace Over Grind is a quick read but it is a confirming and transformational book for entrepreneurs or even those in ministry who are stuck in the grind. From start to finish it confirms what God has spoken to me regarding working so much. This book will require reflection and application but it will transform your way of out of the hustle and relying more on God’s grace.
I’m an avid reader and have never read a book on entrepreneurship so rich in content while focusing on biblical principles. If you’re Kingdompreneur or Christian Leader and you want to know how to partner with God in your business which by the way guarantees both natural and spiritual abundance, this is the book for you.
Read this book as part of a book club selection. I realized Grace over Grind was written for me. It caused me to shift my thinking n the way I approach my business. I realize now, what I had been missing, The true CEO of my business. The message in Grace over Grind is timely and timeless. I will keep this one as a desktop reference book.
I love that this book is short. No fluff. My fear when it comes to books like these is that they'll emphasize how worldly success can be found through a relationship with God. This book didn't do that. It introduced a more grace-oriented way of working and equally talked about the struggle, hardship, and the possibility of failure, that comes when we're going outside our comfort zone.
A short but encouraging book. Great inspiration for anyone who wants to stop getting burned out and start doing God's work! Other than the author referring to the Holy Spirit as just Holy Spirit (which really annoyed me, but I realize it's just a pet peeve of mine), I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and will likely revisit it if I start forgetting to embrace grace over grind.
Everything I needed to read to help me along my entrepreneurial journey. God inspired, practical and an extremely helpful tool to help me stay focused on being a steward of Gods vision.
I've read them so from Jakes to small time authors. Shaw eloquently and clearly defines what choosing grace over grind looks like. She calls out the hustle and makes you think about what you've been letting guide your work progress until now. Get this book.
Love this book. after reading this, praying, fasting. So many opportunities open up for me businesses. My business is now transforming into a more God driven business
I listened to this on audio. It was fast and to the point. My biggest take away was that grace and peace are interchangeable. You need to offer it to others as much as embrace it for yourself. Nothing, especially business, is more important than your relationship with God.
Inspiring and easy read. Shared some insightful thoughts on being versus striving and how to allow Jesus to lead our business. It’s so important we go to God. I liked the balance between personal stories and lesson learned and Biblical examples.
I am so encouraged and inspired by this book. I am in the midst of starting a ministry/business and find myself feeling so lost at times, but I thank God for this book.
Great quick read with thoughtful questions at the end of each chapter. Highly recommended for Christian entrepreneurs seeking to find their "flow" in their life and business.
I listened to the audiobook (read by the author) and want to get a print version to go through the material again to process it deeper. [Edit: buy the print version with the workbook! Well worth the investment of time to work through the material. Having now listened to the audiobook and read and worked through the print book, I expect this will be a book I revisit a number of times in the future.]
The biblical principles laid out in this short book have the potential to be life-changing for Christian businesspeople.
This was a great book, it was just shorter than I was expecting and I wanted more from it. But definitely pick it up if you're looking for ways to keep God at the center of your business and chase after his best.
As a person seeking to build a business that a Gina with my God-given purpose, I’ve never liked the word “hustle”. It just didn’t fit with God’s way of doing things. Grace over Grind introduced me to a new way of doing business; the Kingdom way.
