Gatewood joins forces with the CIO to fight the Mexican cartel leader Salvador Masas, the “Stinging Hornet”, who is smuggling drugs and illegal immigrants across the American border South of Tuscon.

Old enemies, including Mateo Amon, the Mountain Produces and Carmelo cartels, the Durante Sicilan crime family, the TCPLM, the Venezuelan government of President Nazoa, and the AIO all want Gatewood’s head on a platter.

The AIO enacts Operation Go For Broke, and sends killer Theobaldo Gil to eliminate the ballplayer-turned spy.
