I consider the ’66 Batman series to be one of the most unique and timeless TV shows to ever be produced. As such, when I saw this gigantic collection of graphic novel tales rendered in the format of that show, I was intrigued. For the most part I enjoyed the content here, albeit with the caveat that I would have preferred one comic style as “standard” over the numerous styles that are batted (pardon the pun) around in this collection.

As per individual taste some stories hit better than others for me, but more good than bad on the whole. I liked how some stories lean into the campy, colorful fun of the TV series, while others took a more “meta” approach and riff on the show’s iconic or cult status. It was also an interesting experience to see villains never used in the show but canon to Batman lore—like Two-Face, Poison Ivy, & Bane—immortalized in ’66 style.

My only complaint about this collective omnibus? I wish that one style would have been chose for the artwork and the stories told through that singular style. I think that would have really helped continuity throughout. Instead, each tale is drawn a little differently, which while certainly injecting more variety into the whole volume also had the effect (at least to me) of having to re-contextualize each and every story. This is the reason for a one-star dockage.

Overall, though, this is a very fun (and very long/weighty—so be ready for that!) creative riff on the Batman ’66 legacy that fans of the series almost can’t help but crack a smile at more often than not.

This comic was an accurate representation of the '66 batman show. The creative takes on more batman villains if they were in the '66 show was really cool. One bad thing was that the stories didn't typically correlate.

Batman '66 is a comic book series featuring Batman and Robin as a continuation and/or some untold stories of the 1966–1968 television series starring Adam West and Burt Ward. Batman '66 was first published on Digital First as online comics and later collected into trade paperbacks with three digital chapters merging into one. Batman '66 Omnibus collects the all thirty chapters of the series, Batman '66: The Lost Episode, and a story from Solo #7.

Batman '66 Omnibus contains nearly fifty different stories or episodes in various lengths and is arranged like an anthology rather than a graphic novel. Stories range in length from one digital chapter to three digital chapters. Stories stars various of villains from the popular like the Joker, Catwoman, and Penguin to the obscure like Louie the Lilac, King Tut, and Lord Marmaduke Ffogg and to the modern villains appearing like Harley Quinn, Clayface, and Killer Croc.

The series kept the campiness of the show, while provided a slightly dark undertone that was not present in the series. I really liked getting know the minor villains that I have never heard of given some space and I quite enjoyed seeing villains that never been in the series to have the sixties twist to them. While advertised as the continuing adventures of the Terrific Trio – it was not like a season four and onward, but addition adventures that the television series did not cover, which was also a pleasant surprise.

Jeff Parker was the main writer for the series with several guest writers and for the most part, it was written rather well. It captured the sixties series rather well, without being over the top in campiness, but retained the spirit of the series. It is a tad darker than I anticipated, but not significantly that the charm of the original story is missed or overwhelmed.

The series have several pencilers and surprisingly, the style rather complements each other rather well and the flow – artistically was incredibly smooth, with a couple of exceptions, I enjoyed the artistic flow. Had I not really checked on the pencilers, I would not have known that there were so many. The penciling is apropos for the time – very colorful and dynamic.

All in all, Batman '66 Omnibus is a rather wonderful series and I'm glad that I was able to read it and thankful that it was created.

I really loved this. Batman 66 is in the universe of Batman the tv show withAdam West. I didn’t grow with the show but I used to watch old reruns whenever I caught them on tv. I was a bit of a weird kid I loved all the old shows, Batman, Happy Days, Giligans Island, The Munsters etc., so when I found out that Batman 66 was based on the show I knew I had to get this omnibus. I have two complaints first is there is other stories that Batman 66 has like Batman 66 meets Wonder Woman 77 as well as other stories that I think should have been included in the omnibus that way you get everything. Second the very last extra bonus story to me doesn’t fit with the other stories it’s really dark and weird, it felt very out of place in this omnibus. Anyways I would recommend this to anyone who loves Batman The TvShow or any just die hard Batman fan like myself.

It's definitely in the spirit of the 1960s show. There are some additions I wasn't a fan of and some I had tip my hat and applaud their attempts of incorporating all Batman variations. But that last story, at the end, the bonus story, I felt was sick and crossed a line. I get that the comedy version of Batman isn't well loved by all but that should be kept in a separate book. Here I was enjoying a tribute to a fringe Batman T.V show and they slip in the Texas massacre. It was too jarring.

A whole bunch of short stories full of campiness, adventures and villainy. It is pretty much precisely what you expect, which isn’t a bad thing here. The stories are well written and the art is good for the most part. Some villain does criminal activity, Batman and his lil pal shows up. Humorous exchanges are made, henchmen summoned and the crooks are put in their place. Rinse and repeat.

If you think you could enjoy it, you likely will. I didn’t, but still did
