About the author

Cullen grew up in rural North Carolina, but now lives in the St. Louis area with his wife Cindy and his son Jackson. His noir/horror comic (and first collaboration with Brian Hurtt), The Damned, was published in 2007 by Oni Press. The follow-up, The Damned: Prodigal Sons, was released in 2008. In addition to The Sixth Gun, his current projects include Crooked Hills, a middle reader horror prose series from Evileye Books; The Tooth, an original graphic novel from Oni Press; and various work for Marvel and DC. Somewhere along the way, Cullen founded Undaunted Press and edited the critically acclaimed small press horror magazine, Whispers from the Shattered Forum.

All writers must pay their dues, and Cullen has worked various odd jobs, including Alien Autopsy Specialist, Rodeo Clown, Professional Wrestler Manager, and Sasquatch Wrangler.

And, yes, he has fought for his life against mountain lions and he did perform on stage as the World's Youngest Hypnotist. Buy him a drink sometime, and he'll tell you all about it.

I never really got into the 2099 stuff, but I always could see the appeal. I liked that we brought them back, but it almost felt like a novelty, not a real investment. I've struggled to like this series. I feel indifferent about Blood Storm and still really don't like kid wolvie. I saw someone suggest that this team should become the time traveling/reality hoping Exiles and I think that would immediately win me over for this title.

Ehhh, sorta the same with Gold. Not a bad issue, but this arc isn’t my favorite. I like that they’re doing something different with this title, and I would love to see this team go back to their “original” timeline (but keep Jimmy and Bloodstorm of course), and have adventures in the “golden age” of the X-Men, so if I have to get through this to see that happen, I’m more than happy to do so.

Berusaha kabur ke masa asal mereka dengan menggunakan mesin waktu buatan Magneto, para X-Men justru malah kesasar di masa depan: 2099. Mereka bertemu X-Men 2099 dan mendapati fakta bahwa X-Men asli (yang bukan mereka, tentu saja, tapi versi mereka yang lain) telah membuat masa depan menjadi lebih rusak. Di tengah pertempuran dengan sentinel versi masa depan, tiada pilihan lain mereka harus kembali ke masa awal mereka. Akhirnya mereka bisa kembali ke Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, sekolah awal para X-Men yang didirikan oleh Charles Xavier. Masalahnya, penghuni sekolah itu tampaknya tidak lebih ramah daripada sentinel.
